I've bought a lot of rifles from RTI and I've gotten 2 rifles from them that were unsafe to shoot.
After calling and explaining to them why they are unsafe they sent me a return label and replaced it free of charge.

I bought some PPU 8mm for my sporterized Mauser and the bolt closes really hard. Zero issues with Sellier Bellot.

I bought a italian vetterli model 1870 from RTI recently. It was dirty as hell but cleaned up nice. If I ever start reloading, I’ll take it to the range. Surprisingly the bore is decent! Right now it’s a wall hanger.

I just got a smle from them and the receiver appears to have a chamber detonation in it, and the bolt will literally life over a inch vertical in the far forward position before lockup, so bricked

Also there is different size 8mm depending on the year. If I remember correctly early 8mm are actually a smaller bore.

The problem with Royal Tiger is that they are way over charging for what they think they have…does there inventory have value yes just not what they are charging

I have been lucky with RTI four times now, but get really nervous, and know that I am rolling the dice. Three Carcano's, and a MAS 49/56. The Carcano's all had really good bores, the MAS was described as refurbished and in excellent condition but did not mention the bore. It is not great, but hopefully I will not lose a hand firing it. ;)

I got an M48 from RTI and it had a very good bore and it’s been a good shooter. While I have had one or two duds from RTI, overall I have had good luck with them.

Ill likely get one of those from them as well. Those were used in the 60s, less time spent in Ethiopia than the ww1 stuff, or even the things from the 1800s

I got a c grade no4 mk1 enfield and it was missing a screw for the trigger guard and a pin for the front sight other than that it was just filthy and has a poor but functional bore but essentially a complete functioning rifle

I like the 24/47 and the Turk re-worked Gew88's, but I wouldn't buy from RTI at their mauser pricing. I'm at 4 good vs 2 junkers in RTI buying. I'd still likely take a chance on one of the Steyr m95 long rifles. My two bad ones were a pair of carbines, leaving me plenty of parts to keep another going for eternity. My Carcanos and Steyr m88/90s have been fine.

@@charlene2400 I love sterys. I have a model 1888 in gorgeous shape, and it’s sights only go to 2500 shritt, so it is a true unconverted 1888. It’s not an RTI gun, got it over a decade ago and it’s gorgeous. Just finally got to shoot it with some surplus 8x50r. Shot amazing as it’s bore is perfect.

Well i see you have an M1 there too, i did stop the video at 6:16 to ask if thats a RTI rifle as well? I have been trying to decide if i want to pull the trigger on one or not? I really do want a Garand? One of my 6 gun collection. the Allied and Axis rifles. So far i have the Carcano i got at RTI along with a bayonet as i purchased one od the TS carbines. I just dont like that duck billed bayonet! LOL also picked up an Enfield No4Mk1 built in 1943 and the VZ24 Czech Mauser my grandfather said he took off a conscript solder, he thought it was? Although the Germans did like the VZ24's quite a bit as the Germans modeled there carbines after it! LOL so all i need now is an Arisaka,Nagant and M1Garand. Hopeto get a nice one here ,when i finally pull the trigger and plan for the argument with the wife over it! hehe

I’m 8 months late to respond
But I bought 2 m1s from RTI while they were having a massive flash sale….. they had the sale for around a month or so listing rifles for “low price” of $800-$999….. there were Winchesters and IHC here and there
All rifles were individually listed allowing you to see them. And they had descriptions of condition and bore condition……. AVOID ANYTHING THAT THEY SAY HAS A FAIR BORE…
My first m1 was a 1943 Springfield armory that was rearsenaled in 1964…
The bore on this rifle was listed as “good” needing light cleaning…..
…. And after swabbing and brushing it is a decent bore lands and groves are visible throughout…. It is dark from corrosion. But it is still very shootable
My second m1 was a 1952 SA with original barrel…. Listed as very good condition with a 3.5 bore gauge reading….. the bore in this rifle is immaculate… it looks brand new
What to expect for an m1 from RTI if you pay attention to the listing you’ll get a decent rifle with a good bore
But do expect to have cracked hand guards and lose barrel bands… or loose gas tube or a loose fitting trigger group. These are all common M1 garand problems that has nothing to do with being in Ethiopia “although that didn’t help”
I spent about $50 and put all new stock ferrules and bands in replaced one hand guard
And swapped the gas cylinder retainers around on the two rifles and it tightened up the gas tubes…..
I ordered 2 garands. And I got 2 good mechanical condition m1 garands that are going to be good range toys.
RTI keeps saying “last ones in stock “
But they still post anywhere from 2,3,5 even 10 at a time….. when I ordered mine they came with 3 en blocs clips each.
Now they come with 1 clip and a sling…. And are selling for $1099
