    Great track, know it well.
That initial drop off onto the Turon River once you turned off of the Sofala - Hill End Rd is called Wallaby Rocks & yes it's a very popular swimming hole camping location as you discovered.
The run you did along the river is known locally as bridge to bridge as you begin & end at a bridge irrespective of which way you traverse it.
Great drive, awesome scenery BUT don't attempt some crossings after heavy rains & flooding without walking them first, as the sand base can be wash out, the crossing maybe far deeper than previous. Many a vehicle stuffed by drowning along here due to newly created very deep water crossings.
"well I did it last time we came here".
    Unsure, check.
Was here around 2015 with a chap whom like you camped by the river. He had a oztent, set up by the river, awning stretched out toward the river.
When he awoke in the morning his awning poles were in the river, water lapping at zippers along front of oztent.
I on the other hand stayed up high away from the river and trees, nearer the main track, as I refuse to camp under trees, seen to many branches drop in my time.
NB. Rain in catchment above here can cause radical variations in hieght, I'd never camp on river bed as you did knowing this.

There was a lot of time in the water in that river bed. Would you normally check for water in the diffs after that? And the Bushwrapz came up well - time for another trip into Victoria's scratchy tracks to test it out?

I have extended all my breathers up high in the engine bay, so no need to check diffs etc but if you hadn't extended them I would definitely be checking. There are a few breathers to be extended, here is the list based on my 2017 model
      1. Rear diff
      2. 4wd actuator on back of transfer case
      3. Transfer case
      4. Transmission
      5. Front diff
      6. Front diff actuator
1 is directly above the rear diff
2,3&4 are at back of engine block clipped on a bracket
5&6 are on the chassis rail passengers side in engine bay near the battery

@@NeilF4x4Crusading Excellent information thanks. River and creek crossings are common near me so will be looking at breathers as a priority.
