Appreciate that you stopped by that potential camp site and picked up the rubbish. It's absolutely disgusting how some people leave their campsites littered with rubbish. The current culture of Aussie 4x4 camping needs a serious overhaul because it is way to common to pull up to a campsite or along side a track and just see pieces of rubbish laying around. If we don't change our ways, it wouldn't surprise me to see some sort of camping restriction/ban put in place due to how poorly people are treating the wilderness. Some people need to do better, but thank you for making the world a slightly cleaner place 😁

My my, you young fellas arrived in our homebase, so good to see.
The bridle track of today is a far cry from prior to the rockfall in 2010, it took Bathurst Regional Council a frigging long time to get their act together, but 13 years later it was finally reopened. The whole route was slowly updated as part of the reopening.
The old Monaghans Bluff was the narrowest, highest, portion of track and that's where the rock fall occured. Prior to council amalgamation the previous council responsible (Evans Shire) would have rectified the situation immediately as they'd done in the past, unfortunately the new Regional Council refused to take responsibility for track works, claiming it wasn't in their zone, drips, you've just acquired it through amalgamation.
What you may not have been aware of, you began on the Turon River from Hill End but further along the water flow changed direction as you'd past by the end of the Turon, it terminates where it flows into the Macquarie River coming from Bathurst, you're actually viewing the Macquarie from the new bypass lookout.
The junction point of the rivers can be observed from a clearing immediately out of the huge rock cutting you'd passed through.
Patty, you didn't have to return along the bridle track to get to Bathurst providing the Macquarie wasn't in flood, to retain access to residents council upgraded a trail from Root Hogg Crossing to Bathurst, haha, initially on private land, the land owner waited until he had a glorious new road, then blocked it off to public, took council to court and won, hence council had to contruct a whole new route including fencing bypassing land owners property to access Bathurst.
Oh the money spent initially, then court costs, then a second new road, council could have bypassed Monaghans Bluff twice over initially, if it wasn't so ludicrous you'd laugh.
On the litter front, well done but unfortunately it's probably already littered again, bloody grubs just expect mummy to come by and clean up after them as she does at home.
Most just don't recognise they're doing anything wrong.
I'm always dousing unattended camp fires when passing along trail, if I have space, tske rubbish also, but alas, return a fortnight after and it's just the same. The newer dual cab utes mustn't have carrying capacity anymore, can only take unregistered bikes, carts etc. home, no room for the rubbish they generate, idiots.
    Regards, Wealie.

People need to appreciate and respect the nature by not littering at the camp sites. I feel frustrated seeing rubbish left by campers. We need to take responsibility and ownership of our own rubbish. Thank you Aussie Arvos for the doing the right thing. I hope people will see what you do and do the right thing. The video was informative and fun to watch. 👍

Because I took the extra 5mins out of my time, I was able to meet both Liam and Patrick as they were heading out there after the Fraser trip got to wet.

I did the Bridle Track with my daughter two weeks ago and was appalled by the rubbish being left behind. We collected 3 full bags of other people's stuff.
    Bloody disgrace.
Having said that, Council could also help by collecting the wrecked cars which have been dumped (Hogg Root Crossing + one in the river itself further up) as it it almost signals for others to dump their broken awnings and what not.

Most of your trips are within the grasp of most people with an average 4x4 and camping gear. There is so much to see in our country and you fellas are showing us just how easy it is to get out there without all the expensive accessories that we think we need. Also love the easy recipies you fellas present to us. Also honest on whose original recipies they are but showing your spin on them. Well done

As well as The Bridle Track, Hill End, Sofala we also camped a couple nights at Glen Davis camp ground. About 30 mins from the Capertee pub up against the Gardens of Stone Conservation area. Cool camp ground with free showers and toilets and very interesting history of the old Shale Oil refinery and ruins. Put that one on your list next time you visit.

You want to increase your warmth around the campfire. Old wollen blanket made into a cloak. Who cares what it looks like as long as you are warm. You can throw on bed to warm it up. Baby nappy pins. Check on UA-cam. Tip 2: Make a gas stove wind break. Put it at the back of the campfire. When it heats up, it becomes a chimney and throws the heat back.

Nice work gents. Its good you've done Bridal Track now, as I feel with its increased in popularity, it will start to deteriorate, and sadly this also means more campers/4WDer with bad behaviour will use it. It's disappointing to see how much more rubbish is being left behind lately. In the past two years I've gone there, I've always had to clean the camp sites I've been on due to poor behaviour of others. From bottle/cans on firepit, bottle caps & plastics. C'mon peeps, leave it better than you found it. Good onya for cleaning up what you can. ✊👍

Awesome to see guys I’ve been following for a while cruising on my home tracks. As for the rubbish, as far as I know a lot of the areas along the bridle track is still privately owned. We have lost access to a few places out this way because people would dump gazebos and rubbish on leaving camp. Hopefully the mindset of leaving these beautiful places filthy starts to change soon before they are all gone.

And yes, unfortunately a minority of grubs wreck it for all by leaving their rubbish behind for the decent people to pick up after them. I just camped in Marrangaroo National Park and spent 1/2 of the first day there cleaning up after other parasites, it really makes my blood boil, and it’s hard not to rant about it because it’s something I’m so passionate about.

Monaghan's Bluff, that was a hair raising bit!
    Flash Back....
Back in the 90's, drove the bridle track from Bathurst to Hill End.... In an old Holden Kingswood (HK)..
Around the same time, an aunt and uncle followed us out to Bruinbun, in an old Toyota Corona.
Today, everyone believes you need a 4x4 to drive any track that's dirt.. 😅🤦‍♂️

Drove it in reverse from Bathurst nearly 40 years ago. Driving my wife's Suzuki Stockman which we'd driven up from Sydney in the early morning.

Here is a little hack with the blower. If it has a progressive trigger then get a hose clamp and wack it around the trigger and now you can dail in exactly how much air you want for your fire

The name of the trail is derived from the word bridle, referring to the horse livery and the track generally distinguished it from a road or carriageway; a common term used from the mid-1800s to describe the many foot worn trails that developed between towns and villages by walkers and horses.

A blower is great, my makita one goes everywhere. Handy for air mattresses too(filling and emptying). But yeah, as you have found, fire cheat-code :). Great vid!

Another great episode guys and beautiful camps along both the bridal track and turon river. Very lucky as turon is only 45mins from home so get to enjoy the campsites a fair bit. Bloody shame about the rubbish though, if people can afford 4wds they can afford a bloody bin bag!! It’s not hard to pick up after yourself!!
