Personally I would have preferred the same format as the switch, just double the specs so we can get switch 2 games with better graphics and older switch 2 games running smoother without overclocking. The switch was already a little too big for me, even though i wear 2xl motorcycle gloves, it just never was small enough to carry all the time so it resided mostly docked at the house... and a non-screen version switch 2 as a standalone console would have just been awesome to see alongside it.
I find the switch with factory controllers in handheld mode gets uncomfortable after a while due to it being too small. I switch to the Hori pro controller and it fits much better in adult sized hands. I'd welcome the screen and system to grow a bit.
If it's too similar to the old switch, they run the risk of underwhelming people. It only needs to be portable and to be backward compatible. I don't care if the screen is bigger but they need to FIX the shortcomings of the old switch, and that includes having a D-Pad.
Cute idea, but reality proves you wrong. When rumors are more accurate than truth for the last 10 years, at some point you have to drop your utopian views.
1: A set of 4 buttons works just fine acting as a DPad in games such as Smash TV on SNES, N64 Turok, and every FPS on the Dreamcast 2: The vast majority of games nowadays utilize the DPad as 4 extra buttons anyway It's not worth sacrificing the ability of using a joycons as whole controller just so a handful of games can have somewhat better controls
@@dajavax It would be cool if there was an option to have d-pad left joycons for ppl who don't want to use it standalone. I'm sure most people don't do that anyway. I never have. I really like the larger and more ergonomic HORI "joycons." They have a dpad and fit in hands better. Also have a larger analog stick which is nice. It does make the thing larger but it's not that bad.
What does a "feeling" have to do with it? Let's speak in facts. A pro would have the same architecture SoC but be faster. This is a new architecture from both the CPU side and GPU, in the same way Xbox Series and PS5 are not a "pro" of Xbox One and PS4.

6:55 Actually the LCD rumor was based on a dev kit that had a LCD screen, however the screens shipping to taiwan where these are now being manufactured are more expensive than the OLED model's screen, given that it is 8inchs and 1080p instead of 720p, that makes sense. What I'm saying is that it's almost certainly not just a LCD screen, as those are about 1/3rd the price of the OLED screen.
Not being OLED makes sense. For that size, it's probably rather expensive right now and they're waiting until a few years down the road for it to be cheaper and have an excuse to sell everyone another unit. That worked well this last time around. So far it looks like it'll be the same or similar to the PS Portal screen, which is also 8" LCD and really it looks quite good to me. Sure OLED is better but it's still very good.
It would be interesting... seems like Nintendo is going to size themselves out of the handheld market. Going as big as a Steamdeck just gives Switch users 1 less thing to be interested in. Not a single Switch 1 owner said "man, I wish this Switch was LESS portable!"

@@yugdesiralthat's actually not true at all. They only stopped relying on beefy specs with the wii. Up until the gamecube they had, pushed and advertised beefy specs. Once we got that level with the gamecube though they realized they wanted to lean much more heavily into the other areas because they felt the specs/graphics/etc. were "good enough". I tend to agree, with the sole exception being (especially evident with the switch this generation) when games, even first party games, aren't running smoothly. The graphics are fine, but the thing isn't strong enough period. I'm cool with 30 fps too, but some of their own games are more choppy than stormy seas
Looks like 0.7 teraflops for the original switch and 4.5 teraflops approximately for the new Switch. So basically it's going to be a travel size PS4 pro or Xbox series s. And that's a pretty gigantic leap for Nintendo so we'll have to wait and see what they can do with all that extra horsepower. But the good news is is most third-party companies make games that could probably still run on a PS4 so it should have a rather large third party library not to mention the fact that it is backwards compatible with switch one and it will have the Nintendo switch online games
@josephleichtnam836 I'm just saying they've done fine with less powerful consoles than their competitors for the last 20 years. And much of their sales was from ds/3ds which isn't even as powerful as a 10 year old smart phone. They really just need to hit 60fps 1080p which should be no issue. 4k is unnecessary, especially if it's only 30fps.
Lol, are they really that dumb? 😂 They sent him a Switch 2 before Nintendo has even revealed it. Now that one person has the Switch 2, everything is leaked at once. Nintendo sure must be extremely mad right now.
People these days are too stupid. If it isn't incremented like PlayStation's utterly uncreative but at least Crystal clear naming scheme, they don't realize it's a new product.
8:00 Switch 2's specs leaked when Nvidia was hacked back in March 2022, the API NVN2 lists T239's configuration (confirmed via shipping data to indeed be Switch 2's component) Linux public kernals also gave us the info as well. Switch 2 has 1536 cuda cores (steam deck has 512 cores and XBSS has 1280 cores), 48 Tensor cores (for DLSS and it does support the newest version of DLSS though we don't know if hardware frame gen is involved, software frame gen could be used if desired), 12 Ray Tracing cores (this will allow it to have better ray tracing than a PS5 (base model) as Ampere (what T239's GPU architecture is, is far superior to AMD's RDNA RT capabilities), 12GB at 120GB/s for the RAM, 256GB UFS 3 for storage (2.1GB/s, so similar to XBSX's 2.4GB/s), it has 8 A78C arm cores, which have higher performance than Ryzen 2 found in XB/PS5 at the same clocks, though clocks will be ~2/3rds the speed on Switch 2. In handheld it will out perform Steam Deck and use DLSS on top, while also allowing for ray tracing, when docked it will compete with XBSS, the Switch 2 has more ram than the series S (~11GB vs ~7.5GB) and not too much less than the PS5's 13GB, this is a far cry from Switch having ~3GB for games while PS4 had 6.5GB. With PS5 continuing to receive games for the next 6 to 8 years, I don't think Switch 2 will fall behind when PS6 does eventually come out, and now every platform holder is looking to introduce a handheld too, though it seems Nintendo will likely have the only platform that remains a hybrid device, doing both TV and handheld gaming from a single device (unless we count Steam Deck's TV out option, but R&D leaks show Valve may be working on a stand alone console as well). Hope this info was helpful to someone, no specs above were gathered from rumors, they were either directly from the Nvidia confirmed hack in 2022, public Linux kernels, or Taiwan shipping info for tax purpose (government backed info). Though I will throw in a rumor now, at gamescom 2023, behind scenes, developers were shown a Switch 2 demo of the Matrix awakens demo, that out performed the Series S, considering the extra RAM, DLSS and even Ray Tracing, this shouldn't be too surprising, though I'd expect the raw GPU TFLOPs to fall short of XBSS' 4TFLOPs, but probably not by too much, 3-3.5TFLOPs is very possible given a modest ~1GHz clock, where as Switch has about 800MHz clock when docked.
@@Artimidorus Yeah if it was a rumor, I wouldn't believe these things either, but this is from the Nvidia hack from March 1st 2022, T239's configuration inside of NVN2 (Nvidia's custom API for Switch) listed this. Nintendo is going to pull a big dumb with Switch 2, mark my words. They are as dumb as Capcom and Konami, held together by nothing but luck and lawyers.
@hass556 If Nintendo wants to stop people from buying Steam Decks, ROG Ally's, and dozens of far superior Handhelds from China like the Odin 2 and Odin Portal, and stop people from emulating there Gaming devices on these devices they need to make better products.
it'll never gonna happen because people love to hate Nintendo, Nintendo could make the perfect console, the very next day they'll hack it and start the emulator project.
Man, where you live there's no aliexpress? I bought new joycons from LinYuvo and it feels great! So much better than the original joycon. And guess what? D-pad!
JoyCons are the biggest crap designed controllers of al time...Cons alright...hate that stupid layout on the right side as well if they keep it the same.
These handhelds are getting to damn big now. Gone are the days of putting a portable in your pocket. 😂 And using the same design is just boring, as they could have made the damn joycons more comfortable to use. This might become the Wii U situation again, being too similar to the OG Switch, instead of doing something new. I hope the design of the leaks are wrong, and that it at least got a proper d-pad.
I'm glad ivoler sent you one. I think its cool it will be an 8 inches. Though I think they could go a bit bigger and it still feel good in the hands. I don't use the nintendo joycons on my V1. I use a full sized xbox like joycons that feel great in the hands but not as good looking but who cares. Comfort is more important. I like these have bigger buttons on the switch 2. But I'll still replace them
We don't know yet if there's any new stuff, still being a handheld doesn't mean anything. And honestly, if the S2 is exactly the same it means there's still more innovation than Xbox and Sony for the past 30 years.

LCD displays have improved drastically since the switch 1 launch in 2017. It's really not that big of a deal, trust me. You're whining about nothing.
i belive they giving out thr LCD screen its to keep it cheaper they will probebly release an Oled version later on well at least it will do 4k
Ooooh first one to detach the controller! Nice
I feel like they're just gonna call it "Switch 2" to avoid a Wii U situation all over again lmao
I still can't get over that people were confused by "Wii U" but not "Xbox One"
Because the "WiiU" directly followed the "Wii" while the "One" followed the "360"? 🤷
Nintendo is NOT going to announce a new system before the holidays, are you coocoo? they need that money!
I can’t believe they sent this to you!! ..interesting move by Nintendo id say, seems allowed as others have it too. def a lot to take away here..
Should've called it the Nintendo Switch XL! lol
Nintendo is going to pull a big dumb with Switch 2, mark my words. They are as dumb as Capcom and Konami, held together by nothing but luck and lawyers.
Not buying it until oled is released.
The Nintendo Switch 2 looks like crap. If that's the final design Nintendo's learned nothing from the Steam Deck and ROG Ally. 😕
150 million units sold.
Why would they need to learn anything from them.
@hass556 If Nintendo wants to stop people from buying Steam Decks, ROG Ally's, and dozens of far superior Handhelds from China like the Odin 2 and Odin Portal, and stop people from emulating there Gaming devices on these devices they need to make better products.
I learned to always expect last gen graphics, so probably PS4 level
@@Pridetoonsi'm guessing you don't have kids
it'll never gonna happen because people love to hate Nintendo, Nintendo could make the perfect console, the very next day they'll hack it and start the emulator project.
No d-pad no buy. Nintendo have lost their way. They don't understand their older customers that made them who they are during the NES, SNES era.
honestly, even if Switch 1 had a control pad I would still use the pro controller
Man, where you live there's no aliexpress? I bought new joycons from LinYuvo and it feels great! So much better than the original joycon. And guess what? D-pad!
If that is how the switch 2 is going to be is disappointing. I'll wait for switch 2 pro.
Nintendo should just get a bazel-less switch.. the screen would be similar, but much easy to hold
Nintendo: Hi!
A bit to big! The Switch OLED size was perfect.
Nintendo is definitely gonna make this company go down lol
3DS XL twinning
Is that an OLED or an actual Switch 2??
Probably made on a 3D printer based on leaks. Personally I'd say 90% of it's true
I wonder if the Switch Lite didn't sell well. I like it, but I don't know many people who do.
It would be hilarious if these guys were lying.
Should if been called "switch pro" but like everyone mentioned its really the games.
Let’s be real the new switch is basically just a switch pro
@ nothing alike, ps4 doesn’t play ps3 games.
@@markhammond2859 Nevermind, I was thinking about Xbox One games on Xbox Series X
@@GPReeds geez don’t comment on things you have no clue about
@@markhammond2859 A PS5 is very much a PS4 pro + though.
@ looks like nobody does
It’s like the NEW Nintendo Switch. 😅
Regardless of anything, ill be buying a few lol. Love to game and collect so im in!
I guess Nintendo is done innovating. Too much risk to design something crazy.
Nowadays we just want games on the go.
ivoler gives my favorite youtuber the "switch 2" for a review/ad for their case. I'll look into supporting them in the future.
But I'll still replace them
No OLED? Hope not. If true, I'll wait.
Still no dpad, i will stay with my steam deck and emulate the switch 2
@@TheAtariSan you know you can get joy-cons with a d-pad right?
For better or worse Nintendo is the king of innovation and this switch2 would suck. being the same and all
We don't know yet if there's any new stuff, still being a handheld doesn't mean anything. And honestly, if the S2 is exactly the same it means there's still more innovation than Xbox and Sony for the past 30 years.
Looks crap and too big so no way it's real. If it is then I will keep my Oled.
Wow! Why change something that is perfect
Are you Bigfoot? Or like 10 feet tall? Because that Switch OLED looks like its the size of a GB Micro when you hold it…
It's the same just bigger 😂
Hopefully a d pad on the Switch 2
I'll be happy with more of the same tbh. But to each there own.
