She voices Magnolia in the game
LYRICS:
Train Train (woo woo)
Train Train (woo woo)
Train Train (woo woo)
Round and round we go
Ya know you train-trained
To be a soldier at war
It was a game, game
Ah but that was before
We heard the bang, bang
And then it started to change
We took the train, train to the bottom again
We heard the boom, boom
It was a horrible sound
And then the gloom, gloom
We went underground
Now in the room, room
We're jamming the sounds
Go round and round and round
Can't go forward, can't go back
Set your mind at ease, you better relax
Throw yourself a party wherever you're at
And dance your blues apart
Tomorrow you can start
Finding a way back to civilization
Stay, stay and have a good time
No need to pay, pay
The pleasure is mine
Until the train, train
Is ready to climb again
Can't go forward, can't go back
Set your mind at ease, you better relax
So throw yourself a party wherever you're at
Dance your blues apart
Tomorrow you can start
Finding a way back to civilization
So you can stay, stay and have a good time
No need to pay, pay
The pleasure is mine
Until the train, train is ready to climb again

Captain Flippers It has a 1960’s feel because the fallout timeline splits from our own in the late 1960’s. So, really you have to understand the greater lore of the fallout games.

I used to think Lone Star (Fallout New vegas) was from like 40s-60s too.
My favorite Magnolia song. But do you know what I like more? The settlements that need our help. I'll mark them on your map.

This is an incredibly upbeat song about being trapped in a subway station while the world is destroyed by atomic fire.

More of escaping with the Railroad.
More of running into people with the Pain Train perk.

I hear a weird mix of upbeat jazz and seductiveness...

A ghoul walks into a bar and the bartender says “we don’t serve ghouls here”, ghoul says “that’s fine, is the human fresh?”
Lmfao
explanation: a ghoul is commonly refered to as 'a zombie', and the bartender is saying that they don't serve ghouls here. The ghoul takes this as 'ghouls are on the menu', aka telling it that creatures/mammals are on the menu. So thus it asks if humans are on the menu

+qMattp I think Magnolia's songs only show up once you meet her in person. I might be wrong, but I played a concentrated 24 hrs before getting into Goodneighbor and only started hearing her songs on the radio afterward. They aren't too rare all things considered.
+OMGitsDSypl You are correct, sir.
I didn't hear this song until like 70 hours in and i have the radio on pretty much all the time xD
+OMGitsDSypl Yeah, you get to here these on Diamond City Radio after she sings them. Like in Most Fallout games they give you 2 music stations, not sure about FO1 or FO2, FO3 was GNR and Enclave and we all know GNR is the only one you listen to, FNV was Mojave and RNV I listened to RNV the most and Mojave once in a while they both had really good songs, but not Johnny Guitar fuck that song, FO4 DCR and Classical, but like FO3's Enclave Radio I bet no one listens to it.
love her voice so much. sometimes i get stuck in third rail requesting songs from her instead of looking for shaun

Not even close, this song is awful. It doesn't even fit, the mastering of the song is far too modern to fit in with the rest of the Fallout songs.
[ THEORY TIME ] This song is about the Sole Survivor isnt it? She talks about finding your way back to civilization and to chill out/relax. She also tells us that we were trained as a soldier in war (the male survivor is a war veteran), and that we cant go forward or back, probably referencing that the Sole Survivor wants to go backwards in time to his usual pre-war life. This is a dead give away but, "We heard the boom, boom, it was a horrible sound, and in the gloomgloom, we went underground, also referencing the trip to vault 111.
Horrible speculation, great theory
+Cvo 777 Speculation? I thought it was a great theory, and I agree with most of it, but he should've put the hard hitting proof in the beginning. It sets a bad impression.
by the way she's a synth
+Inaki Vasquez For my it isnt theory
Its too obvious
Also "Until the train, trainIs ready to climb again" its reference to upcoming war same as the train before war
+Psycho horse This fact actually explains the train metaphor in the title pretty well. The song definitely involves the railroad, and even if anyone doubts that at first, killing her in-game and looting her yields synth components, which all but confirms this theory.
"Let me get my coat."

Can't get this song out of my head now that I listened to it while playing Fallout 4! Love it!! (I knew it had to be modern because of the fidelity in the game but that is neither here nor there)
This song is great because it gives Fallout 4 something Fallout 3 never had: Wasteland Culture. Fallout 3's NPCs acted like the Great War happened 20 years ago, not 200. Fallout 4 had characters who developed a culture influenced by the wasteland.
I’d say Fallout NV did the society redeveloping thing better.
Well, that area was devastated the most by the bombs, so I can see why much hasn't developed
This is like the one time Fallout 4 had "wastelander culture"
this is the reason people think fallout 3 was supposed to happen earlier, but it was changed last minute.
@@creepermangaming7912
Yeah, the original Fallout 3 plotline took place a few decades after the war, if memory serves. However, they wanted to add the Brotherhood of Steel, Enclave, and Super Mutants to appeal to old fans, so they had to jump up the timeline.
Wonder Woman's still kicking it after all these years.
One moment of silent for those who lisen this on diamond city radio and didnt find it on the radio play list
I've had this game for months, and I've only heard this song today
I'm still amazed that the male character doesn't break down crying or have PTSD induced by this song given how similar to his own life it is when this comes on.
Magnolia: (starts singing)
SS: WAHHAHAHAH SHAAUNN!! NORRRRAAA!!
Bar patrons: Jesus this guy's only had one drink.
I'd Imagine the Sole Survivor is trained mentally and has recomposed themselves after the kidnapping. I mean ones a soldier and the other is a lawyer so keeping your cool is kind of important.

my favorite track
+DanielHX It's a great train track.
I get it
+Don Jack Wow, thanks for putting this and the other items from the soundtrack up, especially with the lyrics. This beats the Fallout 3 official soundtrack I got with the pre-order by miles. The original stuff by Lynda is just what the series needed (songs written in the post-apocalypse world, but still stuck in the pre-apocalypse style), and I probably wouldn't have known about it for ages if I hadn't randomly come across your uploads (I don't think I'm anywhere Goodneighbor right now.)
I saw a comment mentioning this song as a reference to the Sole Survivor's own story, and everyone was like "OMG GENIUS"...Did no one else get this? It's quite obvious, and it isn't just for the Sole Survivor, it's talking about the mindset of society during the time right before (with training to be a soldier and thinking it all a game) and during (with the boom boom and horrible sound) the bombs dropping in general. It mentions partying in the room underground, obviously referencing vaults, but the lone survivor technically wasn't in a vault long enough to 'party' he got in, was froze, got out, it's just talking about people in general and the ones to escape to the vaults and having to live their lives there. I could go on and on, but, do I need to? I really thought this was simple stuff. It goes on and on referencing life in the wastes and vaults and everyone wanting to rebuilt but with raiders, mutants, and the wasteland being so hard to survive, they really can't. Still, I could go on, but really every line is a reference I thought quite common knowledge and not taking effort to catch.
Edit: Before I go, one more I remember: "We took the train, train to the bottom again" civilization itself here, not the lone survivor, or else how could it be 'again'?
I thought the song was about the Third Rail Bar itself.
@@Parishchamp some if her songs are but this not only talks about the survivor but the war itself and how it changed the world

This song is always a vibe when it comes on whilst playing
Always a bop when it plays on DCR :)
The main reason I like going to The Third Rail is watching Magnolia sing
This song’s play cycle is based on in-game milestones, railroad quests(even the freedom trail one), having a railway rifle, and a requirement is to meet the singer in goodneighbor. Hope this helps anyone that enjoys this song
Kreepachoo good thing I have a railway rifle, or macready does
Does it play after all these miletones are complete?
Back in the days, many jazz songs, big bands especially, immitates the sound of the train or at least, tell a story about them because it was part of their lives back in the days. "Chattanooga choo choo" is one of them. The reason I say this is to complement that it is a very wise choice to compose a song pertaining to that age with the ideas of locomotions and how it relates to the game. But the best part is, it soothes the ear. Once again, thank you for such a wonderful song!
How does no one suspect Magnolia's a synth when she can sing in harmony with herself?
😢
High AF on Jet and Psycho, running at raiders while in Power Arnor screaming, "choo choo mfkr! Here comes the pain train!" While Hancock and Dogmeat can only watch in amazement:
*[Theory time]* this isn’t about the sole survivor. She sings this with or without the male player character. This is about some of the first non-vault dwellers who lived after the bombs dropped. After the bombs blew, they were forced to hide in the subway tunnels and metro stations because of the nuclear winter and radiation on the surface.
This is exactly what we see in the Third Rail. It’s a subway station that’s been converted into a bar. I think that this was a song written to raise morale in these first miserable settlements of people who’d had their lives ripped apart by the war.
The song has since been passed down through generations, and by the time we see it sung by Magnolia, it’s almost 200 years old. Which makes sense, the people who wrote it lived in 2070s America. This is why the music is so similar to everything else from the 50s and 60s.
Makes sense
I think you're right
Mm 👌 out of all the songs this is one of my favs
Magnolia says her story is within her songs, and this song is exactly what happened to the Sole Survivor. Huh.
i love this song. i have singing settler installed and it always brightens my day to go home and hear the lounge singer next door belting this song out. :)
I L I K E T R A I N S
Why are Magnolia's songs always so directly about the Male Sole's life, it's amazing and honestly is probably really disarming for your character!
Sandra McKay sucks tho when you as a rule only play female characters in Bethesda games
But that's probably just me
YouWill NeverKnow I find it sad because then it's like the female sole can't go anywhere without being reminded about him...
anyone else listen to DCR a lot but only just recently hearing this song?
Best song on DCR. Nothing like blasting super mutants or going on a Feral Ghoul hunt with this tune rocking in the background. Good times!
When you start dancing in your school hall way cuz you’ve been listening to fallout 4 music
I think they replicated the sound of the past so well. I love the modern interpreted songs that exist too in the charts when it comes around, but I love how this was true to its origins.
That moment you are in a firefight and just pull out the pip-boy until the song ends.. and then get raped because you forgot you was in a firefight!
Love her voice!
Magnolia's Cool and all.
But she's the type to leave the Cap off of the Toothpaste...
If you catch my Drift.
Good thing we only dated for an evening then... Uh-oh what if that's her "mission" !!!!! :O
Martin Latham *Dun dun dun!*
Martin Latham Magnolia is not an Institute synth.
If you use Console command's to kill her, there is a Synth Component.
Those are ONLY Found on undercover Synths, case closed.
Catherine Briggswood no, synth components are found on various synths, not just undercover synths. There is one on Amelia Stockton, and she isn't an undercover synth. So there, now case closed. 😎
The way she says forward omg!
The train represents mankind saying after nuclear war we took the train to the bottom again symbolizing mankind going back and it's telling the sole survivor to wait until the train is ready to climb again
Just gonna ignore the fact that it’s sung in a subway station so it’s probably referring to a literal train.
This is like a song vault tech would use in their commercials (except you actually have to pay-pay)
Sounds like something from NYC
Even though this song is really where to get on your radio, I still got it a bunch of times because of how many hours I've poured into fallout 4...
Love this song, but it's hardly ever played on DCR, I hate Travis.
There's like 10 songs that are played basically all the time and 30 that hardly get played. I used to listen to the radio while playing fallout, but I really hate how repetitive the radio station gets listening to the same songs over and over again.
Rich Mond I find that atom bomb baby, and both ella Fitzgerald songs are played the most often while magnolias songs and the wanderer are played the meas
I went out into the glowing sea and activated the radio tower and I noticed this song played twice as often on DCR. Might be my imagination but you should give it a try.
Rich Mond no its actually pretty common
I’m not quite sure but I think the game sets the probability of certain songs when you start the game. I’ve been through three playthroughs so far. In my first I constantly heard “Atom Bomb Baby” and “Civilization”. In the Second Playthrough “Atom Bomb Baby” only played once and I heard a song I had never heard before. I’m pretty sure the game changes stuff like that so New Playthroughs can be different in slight ways
one of my favorites from diamond city radio
Can we get 5000 subscribers with no videos? Agreed!
you know a casino dlc would be quite perfect for fallout 4? They could a bunch of new and old favourite weapons like the Chinese assault rifle, and the .308 revolver from nv. The plot will revolve around good neighbor, John Hancock tries to open a casino in order for good neighbor to feel more fresh, the triggermen also trie to open one close to diamond city and even diamond city opens one. This causes the casino wars a bloody fight between the new mayor of diamond city, John Hancock, and the triggermen for the best casino available, go all out or fo the peaceful way, it's fallout 4 it's your decisions. They could feature black jack, poker, slots, caravan, wheel of fortune, and allot more. it can now give you the ability to open your own mini casino on your own mini casino on your settlements and a bunch of other stuff to do. The trailer could feature this song. I think the reasonable price would be 10 dollars and the name "Casino Wars". When it comes to fallout our immaginations could go out of this world.....
Only problem is you kill Mayor what's his face if you don't choose to side with the Institute so who's gonna open it?
Sounds like New Vegas, I like it too bad it probably be on creation Club
And then raiders open up their own casino with blackjack and hookers
Dang. I don’t have New Vegas, and I have seen gameplay of a pre war casino in the post war place; it looks like it’s in 2077 (casino) but it takes place in 2100’s

This song is uncommon to listen to in fallout 4 as it can only be obtained once you sleep with magnolia. As you can tell the song is based off of the beginning of the game from your guy’s perspective and his backstory. This song also only plays on DCR after you sleep with magnolia. I presume that your guy tells magnolia your story and she writes a song about you. This gives some purpose and reward for sleeping with magnolia and passing three speech checks
Wrong, Magnolia's songs are played on Diamond City radio after visiting the Third Rail for the first time, romancing or talking to her isn't required.
I just love how it's so damn cheerful about the fucking nuclear apocalypse
I’ve been playing this game since 2017 I have hundreds of hours in it and just heard this song on diamond city radio yesterday
Sometimes I think Bethesda programmed certain songs on the radio to play in certain parts of the game like when I destroyed the institute it played I don’t want to set the world on fire
When I come from Vault plays its the end of the world xd
Spicy Comrade When you first step into the New Vegas Ain't That A Kick In The Head plays

Alteration 100.00000000000001
I live right beside very active railroad tracks so every night at 11-12 pm I’ll hear trainhorns and this song gets stuck in my head
I am a tree, please kill me

*Pulls out flamer* sure 😉
I've heard Atom Bomb Baby, like 20billion times on D.C.R. But I've only heard this like three times.
That, Wanderer, and this are my 3 favorites. I like how they're sort of fast and particularly upbeat. That and I just love Wanderer after that ad.
Same
im pretty big into the swing jazz scene, and ive never heard of Lynda Carter, yet i really like every track of hers on this soundtrack. anyone know who she is? is she a modern jazz artist? or is she someone hired to make music for the game? either way, i really love it.
Lynda Carter is best known for portraying Wonder Woman in the 70s' TV show. She has had a musical career since then as well but really got back on the road around 10 years ago, releasing 2 albums (mostly of covers) in 2009 and 2011. She's married to Zenimax' (Bethesda's parent company) CEO, and has voiced characters for Bethesda games since Elder Scrolls Morrowind. Todd Howard wanted to have original songs in the game so he asked her to write the songs and sing them as the character Magnolia.
+Don Jack no wonder I couldn't find out where they got the songs from. Thank you :)
veganbahamut sei voices Magnolia in Fallout 4
Lynda Carter was cast to play Magnolia, and actually plays Wonder Woman (the first one not the new one).
One of thee hottest woman ever
I like how this song is about the Sole Survivor
