Such a great instructional video. I've successfully replaced filters, and motor neither of which I could have done without your guidance. Had a bit of trouble with the retract, but again it was like you were doing it with me! Thanks man

Hello and thank you, your videos save me on expensive repair costs. I would like to ask you one more thing. My Dyson DC08 does not roll in all the cable. A piece remains outside. The spring of the rewinder must be "charged" ?

what are these screwdrivers you are using are these special for dyson?

Alec. The mains cable retract strength on my DC8 is very weak. Can you show how to adjust it so as the mains cable retracts easily instead of having to help it retract by pushing the cable in to the body. Thank you.

Is it possible to repair the retract unit?
I have a DC08 and the spring is weak and only sucks the cable in halfway.

Hi There, Unfortunately the cable rewind assembly is not meant to be opened. You can on some Miele's and Electrolux's but the dyson one needs to be replaced you can't put a new cord on it. Sorry

hi, we have a dyson dc19.
there is a broken neutral in the cable, in the cable rewind.
do you know how to disassemble the cable rewind so i can shorten the lead?

Great video Alex! Very easy to follow. Clear audio. Lighting and focus could be improved on close-ups. Just nitpicking.

also my thx 4 the exellent vid-tutorial.Have you also a solution to open the "cable rewind cassette"? The power cable is damaged inside and i would shorten him instead of replacing it ,but i don't see a way to open it.
thx in advance (sorry for my english..not 100%)
