S TIER VIDEO BEST SERIES IDEA. I REALLY MEAN IT. THIS IS FACTUALLY A GOOD VIDEO SERIES AND IT SHOWS US THAT A LOT AS HAPPENED IN THIS YEAR LONG JOURNEY.
6th time asking you to keep making vlogs when you return to Estonia. No one really knows much about it, and I bet even you would be surprised what you can find. Doesn't have to be daily, but at least one a week would be great.
THIS IS AWESOME!!!! I love how you just show the map and mark the locations of the things you're mentioning. It really helps planning what I can do and what paths I want to take during my trip!
You should consider checking out Dave Bull's shop, Mokuhankan. His staff makes woodblock (ukiyo-e) prints, a good alternative if you don't want to go all the way to the Hokusai museum. Its over at Asakusa 1-41-8, Taito-ku, Tokyo.
He's the Bob Ross of Japanese woodblock printmaking and the GOAT. Sadly the pandemic and renewed tourism boom took out the printmaking parties where you could get a hands-on experience.
Finally getting around to using all the B-roll footage~! I bet, by now, there's probably enough for a full month of videos all on their own. Can't wait for the follow-ups~! And Tomo-san is still the best tour guide I've ever seen. Thanks, fella~! What sorts of wacky things will Mudan get up to tomorrow? (more of this, please)
When I was last in Tokyo I was staying in Nippori. One morning I woke up stupidly early and couldn't get back to sleep so I walked to Asakusa. I got there about 6.30am and it had such a different vibe from later in the day. Mostly it was locals out enjoying the peace. Probably only a hundred people about so basically empty. There were lots of dogs too. The underground arcade was interesting especially as I had just seen Perfect Days. The tourist centre has great views. I agree that Sushiro is busy on the weekends, however, on a wet Tuesday night I went straight in (Nippori store) and had the best fun ordering and having the dishes arrive on the little track.
Very well done info given out in a way that helps a lot of people plus that one bar still looks so badass, not to mention the other one is not suspicious 😉
I've stayed in areas next to Asakusa during my trips. Oshiage (Skytree neighborhood) is calm and nice. The access is probably not different from Asakusa since it also connects with the train line that goes to both airports. What I love about this area: the supermarket in the Skytree, you can get some discount sushi at night, full of restaurants if you don't know where to go. I also found a nice butcher shop around there that sells minchi katsu (minced pork/beef cutlets) for a really cheap price. Kuramae, south of Asakusa, is also a calm, residential area. There are many nice, unique local cafes there and it is an area where many local brands sell their craft items. Most of them are leather goods.
I went to Public House Zen after your video. I went on a weekday, and I was the only one there. It was awesome and fun to talk to the bartenders, and the drinks were great. I highly recommend, and hopefully next time I go again there will be more people who find that gem.
Great video. The Tokyo Cruise to Odaiba is also a great experience. The boats were designed by Leiji Matsumoto who is famous for some animes that I honestly never watched. But he also did the animation for loads of Daft Punk music videos which are part of the greatest movie of all time, Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem.
I am literally going on Tuesday and I was wondering what to do in Asakusa when I have to go there to buy an omamori for a friend 😂 Everything I want to do is in the "West."
I'll add on the Sword museum over by the sumo stadium. Not big, maybe 20 mins to go through, but some really cool stuff on display and a beautiful garden attached to it. Was like 1000 yen or so last year.
I missed out on the Asakusa Underground Street. As for cool things to do. I went about 3 times to the ROX Dome very close to DonQuijote to hit balls. Just some fun exercise you can do. Additionally there is Rokku Broadway which is basically the street next to DonQ that often has cool little events and things happening in it.
You need to visit Kamiya Bar, the birthplace of Denki Bran and Japan's oldest Western-style bar. It's across the street from Asakusa Station's north exit. It's an experience as its full of loud, friendly, elderly locals. The food and drink are affordable and the Denki Bran cocktails are delicious.
I absolutely loved visiting public house zen a few nights in a row back when i was in Asakusa back in April, it was the perfect place to end my day of exploring the area as it was right down the street from my hotel ofc see aitas kaasa, et eestlane soovitas :)
I'd recommend "Cafe & Bar Living Room" in Asakusa as well. Super chill vibe and the owner's a real nice dude. Also, きまぐれ酒場 in Ueno, which is a "One Piece" themed bar. You get a One Piece card with each drink you order.
I though the Sword museum just across the river was pretty cool. Little costly for what it is, but it was cool. Also, the Skytree has 1:1 Macross statue, but it's kind of hidden. Must-see for any mecha fan though.
The beer building at the end is part of the Asahi brewery headquarters, which if you don't mind paying just 1k yen for a nice beer, you can go up to the top for some excellent views across Asakusa. Was a highlight of our trip earlier this year and spoke with some lovely locals!
youve gotta go to the Asahi Sky Room while in Asakusa. Its at the top of the Asahi building along the Sumida River and has an awesome view of the city as well as beer and food. Went there twice at night. Really cool vibe at night time
I tried it once since I was told it had a good view but the waiting time was around 2 hours so I skipped 😅 from some reviews that I read, unless you go really early, the wait time adds up
Went to a few Kura Sushi locations in the States, the collabs they have are cool. I went for the Dragon Ball Super and Pikmin collabs. Also their Red Dragon Roll is delicious and worth trying.
I think the ninja and samurai museum is OK but it's really geared towards middle school boys. Going to the national museum in Ueno is a better place to see armor and old katanas. I'm glad you mentioned the boats. They take a while but they're kind of fun to ride and gets you a different view of Tokyo.
Is there another bar not suspicious about 15 minutes across the bridges into Sumida? I swear I walked past it coming back from the Skytree area back to my place.
Will you do a meet up for fans before you go? Im in Okinawa I wouldn't mind flying over just to meet one of the many UA-camrs I watch. Its on my bucket list; been in Japan for 3 years and still haven't come across you guys :(
I know you are not a big beer drinker, but there is Sumidagawa Brewing next to the Asahi building, however Google Maps seems to suggest it's closed right now. I know you are not especially a beer drinker, but would you be down checking maybe Beer Kobo in Asakusa, as they make beer there (they have different location in Tokyo).
I just think,... for Asakusa, hard no,... everything in this neighborhood was destroyed during the Pacific War (not to mention 1923) and it's just too crowded with tourists. Towns like Monzen Nakacho and especially Yanaka Ginza will have more charm and much less foreigners.
Day 119 of commenting on Mudan's Vlog: If you're going to do a tour through Tokyo by districts, then I'm looking forward to see you visit the Robot Restaurant in Shinjuku City, to see if this place is still worth the hype 😉 It's still kind of wild how you could fit all this into a video under 9 minutes.
Ain’t no way we only got a little more than a month left 😢
dread from it, run from it.....his home is estonia
Telling us about the tourist information center while simultaneously taking their job
S TIER VIDEO
BEST SERIES IDEA.
I REALLY MEAN IT. THIS IS FACTUALLY A GOOD VIDEO SERIES AND IT SHOWS US THAT A LOT AS HAPPENED IN THIS YEAR LONG JOURNEY.
yea maybe mudan can make some more of these, i would gladly watch them all
SSS Tier, this is exactly what I need/want when planning my trip :)
Thanks Mudan!
6th time asking you to keep making vlogs when you return to Estonia. No one really knows much about it, and I bet even you would be surprised what you can find. Doesn't have to be daily, but at least one a week would be great.
Thank you for this series. Planning a trip and this is helpful for the group im in
Perfect, going to Asakusa literally in a few days and this came JUST IN TIME. YOU ARE GOD!
Have a great time!
I will appreciate these videos coming out! I'll reference them for an upcoming trip. Thanks, Mudan.
THIS IS AWESOME!!!! I love how you just show the map and mark the locations of the things you're mentioning. It really helps planning what I can do and what paths I want to take during my trip!
Peak informational content.
Tobacco and Salt Museum mentioned, very nice. Fantastic museum in my opinion.
What to do in Tokyo?
Speedrun temples of course
This is the best travel guide format. So concise and informative!!!
Thx Mudan for this series coming to Japan in 3wks will help deciding what to do on a spare day I have.

Very near Sensoji and the Mega Don Quijote in the video, well worth a visit. Staff are friendly and the prints are phenomenal
He's the Bob Ross of Japanese woodblock printmaking and the GOAT.
Sadly the pandemic and renewed tourism boom took out the printmaking parties where you could get a hands-on experience.
Great recap in the last month for your viewers! Can't wait to see the next parts of Tokyo
The day I get to have a holiday in Japan I’m definitely gonna note all these ones down
Now the countdown is making me 😢. I’m glad Mudan document his experience

Quick and to the point and nice illustrations on the map 👌
Very well done info given out in a way that helps a lot of people plus that one bar still looks so badass, not to mention the other one is not suspicious 😉
Day 3 of asking Mudan to see all of his souvenirs at the end of the trip.
Cannot believe there's only a little over a month left, damn time flies by so fast 😳
I've stayed in areas next to Asakusa during my trips.

エストニアに帰ったら、エストニアの面白い場所を紹介してほしいです☺
次はエストニアで365日だと良いですよね~🤣

Legit one of the best video for tourists right now 😮
Very good summary!
Great video. The Tokyo Cruise to Odaiba is also a great experience. The boats were designed by Leiji Matsumoto who is famous for some animes that I honestly never watched. finally catching up to there video, really like your daily vlog and so sad it's going to end soon.....
This is a really great video i would love to see these for other wards of toyko in this style.
I'll add on the Sword museum over by the sumo stadium. Not big, maybe 20 mins to go through, but some really cool stuff on display and a beautiful garden attached to it. Was like 1000 yen or so last year.
im going to Japan in early March and ill be staying in Asakusa, so this video is very good.
Day 37 of asking mudan for an hour long documentary on Japanese lampposts
I'd actually watch that
My tip is to go to sensoji at midnight, all shops are closed but they are touristey anyway and it has a different mood at night
Absolutely awesome guide, absolutely awesome guy!
I missed out on the Asakusa Underground Street.
As for cool things to do. I went about 3 times to the ROX Dome very close to DonQuijote to hit balls. Just some fun exercise you can do. Additionally there is Rokku Broadway which is basically the street next to DonQ that often has cool little events and things happening in it.

ofc see aitas kaasa, et eestlane soovitas :)
I can recommend the Banana Factory somewhere between the Skytree and the Dog Cafe. Cute and small little shop with friendly staff.
Just wanted to mention that the futuristic looking river bus at Sumida river was designed by Leiji Matsumoto, creator of captain Harlock
I'd recommend "Cafe & Bar Living Room" in Asakusa as well. Super chill vibe and the owner's a real nice dude. Also, きまぐれ酒場 in Ueno, which is a "One Piece" themed bar. You get a One Piece card with each drink you order.
u forgot to include the spot where u are living on the map
Hehe, nice 😅
I'm going to miss these videos so much in 33 days
Some more clip videos would go hard. Would be interesting to see how differently you could style each clip video.
16 seconds is crazy. good video
It’s going to be so sad not having our daily Mudan 😭
33 days... that's almost 40! 😱
gonna take advantage of this when i arrive to my hotel in asakusa
I though the Sword museum just across the river was pretty cool. Little costly for what it is, but it was cool.
Also, the Skytree has 1:1 Macross statue, but it's kind of hidden. Must-see for any mecha fan though.

@@Mudan ah makes sense. Both times i went was an hr before close and was able to just walk in
Asakusa menchi by sensoji was a really good street food place. Meat and onion hand pies were perfect for the cold weather
I'm gonna miss my daily Mudan fix T_T
this cannot be what mudan sounds like.
do more off this, love it
Went to a few Kura Sushi locations in the States, the collabs they have are cool. I went for the Dragon Ball Super and Pikmin collabs. Also their Red Dragon Roll is delicious and worth trying.
I never heard Estonian accent in a French words before, up until now😂
I think the ninja and samurai museum is OK but it's really geared towards middle school boys. Going to the national museum in Ueno is a better place to see armor and old katanas.
I'm glad you mentioned the boats. They take a while but they're kind of fun to ride and gets you a different view of Tokyo.
The museum is awesome, but make sure you gets there early in the day. When it's full, it's a lot less fun.
Ooo - my friend lives by the 7:24 dog cafe. She’ll be thrilled if she doesn’t know it exists. Thank you.
Cool series idea. Also day 31 of asking mudan to visit aogashima island
Is there another bar not suspicious about 15 minutes across the bridges into Sumida? I swear I walked past it coming back from the Skytree area back to my place.

Day 291 of commenting to feed the algorithm :D
You didn't try Fuglen Coffee in Asakusa ? The furniture reminds me of my grandmother's house.
Oh, I know where those recommendations come from

Mudan, how about a Tom Scott style video? No cuts. Just yapping for 15 minutes while showing the most boring but interesting place ever.
Banana factory near the skytree, 10/10 banana confectionery
Can't wait to see you in a Kimono
You absolutely have to try the famous Asakusa Melonpan
Say hi to 1000 random people for next video :D
Will you do a meet up for fans before you go? Im in Okinawa I wouldn't mind flying over just to meet one of the many UA-camrs I watch. Its on my bucket list; been in Japan for 3 years and still haven't come across you guys :(
