When we translated Ultima Online to Japanese, the players in the game jumped quite a lot. At peak, I think we had 75,000 Japanese players. Wow, this is a wonderful thing, but the surprising thing to me is that no one mentioned the game Final Fantasy. I remember that someone told me that it is one of the games that is very popular in Japan, but in the video no one mentioned it, but it is also a beautiful thing to see people playing different games, and all the titles mentioned are beautiful. Also, the voices of the people who appeared in the video are suitable to be voice actors in anime. Thanks for the video, Takeshi-san

Been playing Nikke since day 1 and the guy sums it up pretty well. also I'm playing Webfishing and Balatro rn
Wangan Midnight Maximum Time is pretty wild tho. The sense of speed dodging regular cars is on another level.
As a fellow gamer in the States, I love this topic. Glad to see japanese adults enjoying gaming as much as we do here. So much variety too.
i feel like, if you asked this in a US equivalent city like NYC you would get like max 3-4 different games with COD and fortnite being the most popular.
lots of games are literally made in Japan tho...
@@sipit7029Ya but a lot of Japanese games and consoles don’t really do too well there. Most young ppl are playing mobile games and gatcha stuff
Blud has no idea that games are part of Japanese culture. 😂
You do know that the Majority of games came and originated in Japan right? 🗾
Kid you have still have much to learn about the history of the world 😆
I miss playing pubg with japanese people. They had the best teamwork and would do their best to communicate in English with me. Good times.
Do their best? Bet it was difficult to communicate if they knew little to no English- even though I remember playing chained together with three online randoms and for some reason we were totally in sync and helped each other all with zero worlds apart from the 3 2 1 button prompt that is still one of my favourite online gaming memories of all time
I never get tired of listening opions of people about games they enjoy
I love the people that mentioned Yakuza and that one guy who said Yo-Kai Watch. Those two are my favorite games of all time. I especially loved Yo-Kai Wibble Wobble, I miss that game so much 😢
I mean she COULD speed up on the mountain pass in real life, she just doesn't want to get arrested.
I think arrested is the least of your worries if you do that. She has a very cool taste in games I think
more like she doesnt want to wreck her car
Love seeing how much they like Splatoon over there! It's also my fav
what do you mean 'over there'? Splatoon is literally a japanese game :)) *kidding
yassss!!! im was amazed how many ppl said it was there fav game too!!!
Wish some of my IRL friends were into it. But not a single one I have known since Splatoon 1 has cared. Its the most fun and innovative shooter imo.
@0:40 As someone that absolutely adores the Gundam EXVS franchise, this man is my hero right now
The real suffering is the games basically never getting home ports.
@ I don’t know about all that. Starward is starting to gain real mindshare ground against Gundam EXVS, and the only way Bandai Namco will stop that from becoming worse is to find a way to make it available worldwide.
Awesome video as always Takashii.
So many great answers and the cosplays were great! Loved Yor and Sephiroth!
Love this. Favorite game is such a hard question for me because for me game experiences are so different, contribute to different things I value, and defined my life up to my late 20s, so it's hard to pinpoint any singular game I want to hold in the spotlight, but I can by certain categories.

That was a great video. Splatoon and Dragon Quest are still hanging in there. Impressive. I’m old. I play 三国志、悪魔城のドラキュラ、Marvel vs Capcom and Puzzle Bobble.
Splatoon and Dragon Quest are two of the most popular franchises in Japan right now, I'd say.
Dragon Quest is the most popular RPG for sure, even Final Fantasy isn't as close. Here in Europe DQ is sadly very niche in most countries. FF is more well-known, but in general people prefer Western/PC RPGs in my experience. Different strokes and all that.
I still play rocket league and crash bandicoot 4 just find them so fun and addictive
@@therunawaykid6523 oh yeah well I still play Psychic Force 2012, Power Instinct 3: Groove on Fight, Yu Yu Hakusho Tokubetsuhen, and Astra Superstars how bout that
Editor Definitely getting paid the big bucks for showing up on the camera during the promo.
As an American I love hearing about what Japanese people are playing. :) Great video
Japanese cosplay is on another level
facts, they didn’t come to play with them either, that yor cosplay was fire
It's because they don't have 40 tats/piercings and they're not obese
fr
amazing girls
Not really anymore
7:23 I knew their would be a Nikke mention. That I recently just started playing and wish I had picked it up years ago. It's clowned on as a gooner game because of the fan service designs of the characters but the story and squad based tactical gameplay is really fun.
Really? Try playing genshin impact
Haven't played it yet but in today's Konbini Confessions video, Miyachi interviewed a Nikke cosplayer lol
@@Remonzo100 I played Genshin back at launch years ago and some of my friends still play it. It's fine but the story and characters don't really interest me very much.
@@coolbrotherf127 Genshin at launch vs now is a completely different game.
Good luck on your journey, new commander 🫡
Love the new intro!
Anime + Game "reviews" is always going to be a winning combo Takashii!
7:22 Love to see Nikke getting the respect it deserves! 🙏
Great video! Japanese people are just so cool, calm, friendly, and seem really at peace. I love it!
I loved that about Japan
They are. Always enjoy talking to different Japanese people because they are very unique individuals and have their own opinions when they share their true thoughts.
14:42 a man of taste 🤝
I want to buy that guy a beer. Anyone who enjoys battle Network is automatically my friend
Great video! It must be so nice to live in Japan, With a lot of options for gamers!!!
Jaw dropped when starfox assault was mentioned. Absolutely loved that game growing up. Buddies and I would always splitscreen vs each other for hours!
Great video, the finessed advertisement was really impressive. As Japan being the mother of video games and the pillar of game development and where most of popular game development is located, it’s interesting not only to see what the country is playing/ into but what other people are playing around the world (or more like the other side of the world for me “U.S” also fun to see people name games that I love or have heard of. Once again, amazing video dude ❤👍🏿
Great video Takashi, pls more videos like this 🙂
Initial D mentioned!!!!
It's always fun to watch your videos and think about how I would answer your questions, and this one would be hard because I play and love so many different games that it'd be hard to even give a top-5. Props to your interviewees for being able to present just one
What an awesome gaming community. Gotta love it. ✌️
2:15 Great taste. One of the reasons I started learning Japanese was to be able to play the games in the series which were not released in English, namely Yo-kai Watch Busters 2 and Yo-kai Watch 4. Sad that it never made a huge impact in the West, but it certainly made a huge impact on me.
7:22 bro forgot to explain the part where you play NIKKE with one hand only 😂
Those ads are so annoying
I do not know many games where you hold the phone vertically and play with two hands
What aloser
🤣🤣🤣
we be playin on pc @@RuruLaRuru
loved seeing wangan midnight getting a mention
also initial d arcade
Smoothest AD ever hahahahaha
Ads aren't supposed to be smooth. They're supposed to be clear and distinct from the regular content.
ads can be smooth and distinct at the same time, relax
My sponsor skip activated so I didn't get to see it lmao. Had to go back to watch it.
Such chill people.
Gotta visit Japan someday ✌🏻
Nice video. It was really nice to hear perspectives from Japanese gamers!
2:53 STAR FOX ASSAULT WOAA I HAVENT PLAYED THAT IN FOREVER im so surprised to see it mentionned here!! LOVE THAT
Nintendo should make a proper sequel to "Star Fox Assault" with no control gimmicks.
Nikke mentioned 😎
One hand gameplay
3:48 bros jawline is impressive
He's mewing
Jkjkjkjkjkjkjkjkjkjkjkjkjkjkjkjkjkkkkk
Wow, this is a wonderful thing, but the surprising thing to me is that no one mentioned the game Final Fantasy. I remember that someone told me that it is one of the games that is very popular in Japan, but in the video no one mentioned it, but it is also a beautiful thing to see people playing different games, and all the titles mentioned are beautiful. Also, the voices of the people who appeared in the video are suitable to be voice actors in anime. Thanks for the video, Takeshi-san
Takashi! I loved your reaction when that girl said she was playing Initial D! It looked like you had a real nostalgic connection to that game lol. I love your content man!
Been playing Nikke since day 1 and the guy sums it up pretty well. The developers really seem to pay attention to their playerbase and even though I initially got baited to play because of fan-service, the story locked me in. The other game I've been playing is Deadlock. Third-person shooter/MOBA currently in Alpha that's known to be a passion project by IceFrog. Anything IceFrog touches is Gold.
They even embraced doro
I just started playing and I got so many free summons. And yeah the story is actually interesting. I was surprised.
Nice second anniversary event. I really love Cinderella.
Do you play it with one hand?
@@ricerice9486 indeed 🗿
more game videos pls takashi! i learned about games i'd never heard of and now am excited to play
I❤luv this.... Awesome and interesting subjects as always. 😂
I loved this video and want to see more games and anime videos!!! thank you!
I was surprised to not hear any mention of Final Fantasy XIV since it's an online game with a big japanese player base! It's beloved all over the world ♥
That was very sneaky with the RAID commercial. Well done and great video!
Love that reaction to Portable 2G/Freedom Unite. Nostalgia overload.
Battle Network brother is cool as well
The cosplayers in this video did such a great job with their costumes!
I discovered new games thanks for this vlog
