I'm glad you showed the bore both before and after! That came out much better than I would have expected. This is one of the best firearm restorations I've seen on UA-cam! Most end up a pitted mess or much of the original finish destroyed. This is a remarkable job! AND you tested with the correct black power loads, very cool!
Thank you very much Robby, We are glad you liked it and we appreciate you watching
Almost like a clean pistol was given a 2 week salt bath. The Kriol removed the rust and returned the blue in seconds.
@@anthonysupplee858 I have an all original S&W Model of 1917 and bluing they achieved is close to that finish at least as far as I can see from a video :)
First time watching you work. You do fine work. You are like me, meticulous and patient. You used ALL the proper tools in your work. Finally, someone actually fired what they worked on, using the proper and safe ammunition. I have subscribed, which I rarely do. Again, fine work!!
Wow I really appreciate that. So many people like to focus on the negative side of things. In this case you’re focusing on positive things and I really appreciate you watching and commenting and just so you know we comment to everybody that takes the time to comment on my channel I have Colt model 1903 made in 1915 coming out on the channel Friday or Saturday this week with the test firing and everything.
Yes! Sand blasting! I love it! You get a like here!
Thanks we appreciate it and thanks for watching
Thanks for restoring another piece of history. Excellent job Brandon
Thank you very much Joseph I appreciate it thanks for watching
Next time try experimenting with boiling the entire rusted arm in distilled water and using fine steel wool to conserve the original finish. Or if you're going to use media blasting maybe an even softer material like walnut husk, since the finish does look more matte after the glass beads.
Thanks for the advice and thanks for watching we appreciate it very much
Smart move on the black powder ammo! Guns this old were never designed for today's smokeless powder, and the chamber pressures could easily rupture the cylinder and injure someone. Great restoration!
Thank you very much Josh, You got that right thanks for watching
Sir, one magnificent job of restoring a grand old Colt Model 1895 back to like-new condition. You really made that old Colt a firearm to show-off to interested people. I notice the inspector's initials on the left-side of the frame, indicating some of this old Colt's travels. Thanks so much for this video on your fine work. Hang on to that Colt, it's value will continue to increase, and it would make a wonderful family heirloom to pass down to some lucky family member.
Thank you so much, we appreciate your kind words and support. Thanks for watching!
Um, I'm not a teacher nor a professional but... How about using 2 push bars on the saw to avoid losing a digit. My shop teacher almost lost some of his, right after a saw safety lecture. Concerned viewer.
Yeah accidents do happen thanks for the tip and thanks for watching
Exceptionally well done, thanks!
Thank you very much, thanks for watching!
Awesome job my friend I don't see very many of these type revolvers restored on UA-cam and you did a remarkable job restoring a piece of colt history and military history the only thing I would have loved to have seen is you put checkering on the grips but nevertheless you did an awesome job keep up the good work
Thank you very much Tristan yeah I thought about doing some checkering, but in the end I decided not to, thanks for watching buddy
Many original factory Colts from this time period did not have checkering. Especially military issued models. I know for a fact the 1917 did not, not sure on this model I would have to research it. Gives it a period 'correct enough' aesthetic though
Again, good to see an old one, making a come back.
Thank you very much I appreciate it
This Colt Revolver should have been mine. You gave it life.
It is a very nice gun and thank you very much I appreciate that, thank you for watching
@@TheKinzlerBros My father had a 1915 model of this weapon, when the Greeks attacked Anatolia, he got this weapon after a Greek Sergeant's body search, which they captured. Best regards, Master
Thank you for the money shot!
You're welcome thanks for watching
Nice work! Interesting tidbit...this was the type of revolver Teddy Roosevelt carried at San Juan Hill, with the Rough Riders. His was a navy model, salvaged from the wreckage of the USS Maine in Havana, shortly before the beginning of the Spanish-American War.
You are correct He actually used it at battle of Las Guasimas and San Juan heights while charging kettle hill with His Roughriders and yes you’re correct it was one that was Salvage from the sunken ship the USS Maine I actually made a TikTok in three minutes of this firearm at the very beginning I talk about Theodore Roosevelt and the history behind this firearm but TikTok doesn’t like me showing historical educational videos of restored firearms so I was taken down immediately and I was banned for three days
Gungasm 💥😁
Thank you very much thanks for watching
This was really satisfying to watch. Congrats for the nice work.
Thank you very much Jean that means a lot I appreciate it, thanks for watching
I have this gun, it was my dad’s who is now in heaven, would love to have it refinished like this. You did fantastic, thanks 😊
Sorry about your dad, they are cool guns! Thanks for watching!
@@TheKinzlerBros 🙏 thank you
What a beautiful result, keep up the good work . Can't wait to see the next project. Love watching the media blasting.
Thank you very much I appreciate it, I'm glad you like the glass bead blasting it sure is satisfying, thanks for watching
Nice 👌👌👌 nice gun
Thank you very much
Pretty good, love how it turned out and the grips look decent though need some work in properly fitting.
Thank you very much and thanks for watching
I would have totally burned the wood. They would be called “char-grips”! You did great.
Man, you make want to get out my old junk revolvers that my father in law gave me to get functioning again. Great restore! I was curious if anyone criticizes your choice to use the "sandblaster" to clean rust? It's not really sand like the old days blasting good metal off, rather if memory serves essentially baking soda. I remember when the technology came out that someone removed the paint from an aluminum can, very delicate process if done right. I like it. It's so nice to see the guns fire or at least function!
You should, ya some do, they say I'm ruining the gun, I use medium glass bead, thanks for watching our videos!
this gun looks artificially/intentionally rusted to me. the insides are a little more than dirty the outsides have that classic color you always see in your work.
It wasn’t intentionally done even though some on this platform do do that especially the channel that pretends to walk around in some sort of dump and then finds a firearm that’s ridiculous anyways I appreciate you watching and commenting as well
Great work and video.
Thank you and thanks for watching
Glass made the finish nice
I agree with you which is why I use it but some others think that it actually makes the pitting worse but how would I know I’m only the one doing it and seeing the firearm before and after thank you for watching I appreciate your comment
Thanks you for that video
Thank you for watching
Good video
Thank you thank you for watching
Eu não tinha a menor dúvida que funcionaria, a ferrugem era bem superfcial. Parabéns pelo trabalho.
Thanks for having faith in me buddy and thank you for watching
Beautiful Colt Revolver. Awesome restoration. Thx for the vid. 👊
Thank you very much, thanks for watching!
That’s a sweet revolver… needs some ebony wood handles though 😎
Thank you very much and yeah that would look pretty sweet too thanks for watching
Good video.. was scary watching you make that grip though. You should come up with some sort of jig next time so your fingers are far away from the table saw blade.
I understand your worry. But I have been doing wood work and construction for about 18 years now the footage of that clip was sped up drastically so it was a lot slower than it appeared. Thanks for watching
Beautiful little vise!
Thank you very much thank you for watching
Holy crap guy. That’s an awesome revolver. Nice work.
Thank you very much Diego and thanks for watching
Good mornin kinzler Bross i love ur video always nice content keep going n god bless u🙏👍👍👍✌🥰🥰🥰❤❤❤💖
Thank you very much Wani and we appreciate it thank you for watching have a great week
Awesome job, looks like a brand new gun....👏👏👏
Thank you very much I appreciate that and thanks for watching
Looks like an old gun that wasn't under water all that long , nice clean up job on it though.
Thank you very much thanks for watching
Fantastic
Thank you
Sure looks like a S & W Model 10, 6 inch. I have one made in 1968, accurate, reliable and easy to clean. Many revolvers share similar features so I might be wrong considering this gun's age,
Well I'm sure it is very similar to the gun that you have, but this is a legitimate 1895 colt revolver , thank you very much and thanks for watching
That safety fire test sounds so just awesome I love old guns like those
Thank you very much I love the sound as well thank you very much for watching
Great job
Thank you very much I appreciate your comment
This was a great video, you do fantastic work! One thing though. At the end you flipped the revolver to close the cylinder. I learned from a gunsmith that that's not good for the cylinder crane; possibly bending it. Great work though, as always!
Thank you very much we appreciate it, I only did it for the video. Thanks for watching!
@@TheKinzlerBros ok. Thanks for responding.
Very Nice Work!!! I wonderwhat it's history might be?? Maybe it saw service in the Phillipines ? Who knows ???
Thank you very much Mark, ya anything is possible, thanks for watching

As usual, you didn't disappoint with your skills.
Thank you very much I appreciate that and thanks for watching
Very Nice, you know it looks pretty modern for the 1890s! Looks allot like a 1930s .38
Yeah it's crazy how great the technology was even back then thanks for watching we appreciate it
Another great restoration, enjoyed it much!
Thanks we appreciate it!
I also remember when America had to fight 2 other Revolutionary Wars: One against Spain, 2nd against Mexico. That's during 1846 starting with. It's just like when our American historical figure ancestors fought 2 Revolutionary Wars against Great Britain. Canada didn't own very much of U.S. territory starting in the year 1491. 🇨🇦 🍁 🇬🇧 🇲🇽 🇪🇸
Ya, thanks for the info George and for watching!
The only one of the big Colt family I dislike just for the design. Kinda feeling ,not logical. Love its successor M1 and you Bros did amazing work again! All the best from Northern Germany Ludwig.
Ya there's always one for everybody, thanks for watching we appreciate it Ludwig!
Very Nice! Keep it up!
Thank you very much. Will do
Nice work
Thanks
That revolver actually wasn't in bad shape at all. The internals were like new and in time. The overwhelming majority of 'basket cases' like these are not worth repairing unless you really need a hobby and/or love frustration and likely failure. The New Army/New Navy revolvers are most often found with wrecked internals and getting them to work at all, in any way, is all but impossible. Nobody works on them anymore and there are few parts available. This was an interesting find in that all the problems were cosmetic. If the action had been in the condition most of them are, this revolver would have belonged in a junk bin, or sold to Jack First or Gun Parts or somewhere else specializing in obsolete parts.
Thanks, I appreciate your perspective. Thanks for watching!
Loved it
Thank you and thanks for watching

Thanks Steven. It's got a little kick for sure. Thanks for watching
Beautiful work!
Thank you very much!
HEY BUDDY, WHEN YOU RESTORE A GUN, YOU MUST SHOW ME AND THE REST OF YOU VIEWERS THE RIFLING OR THE BORE OF THE GUN. THAT IS WHAT MAKES THE GUN WORTH RESTORING.YOU DID AN O.K. JOB, YOU COULD HAVE MADE THE BLUE A LOT BLUER, THE GRIP IS NOT PERFECT BUT WILL WORK, ALSO A LITTLE CHECKERING ON THE GRIP WILL BE GOOD..
I did show it Before & After and I decided not to do checkering, but maybe next time thanks for watching
Amazing, you are a gunsmith!
Thank you very much Leslie and thank you for watching
لا إله إلا الله محمد رسول الله
Thanks for the info and for watching
Wow I am blown away by this. 👍👍
Thank you very much Daniel I appreciate that thanks for watching
Nice job with the restoration, looks like it has a nice weathered patina look to it though Id checker the grips for some external bite. And some advice. Don't cowboy (spin the cylinder and then flick it closed by jerking the frame) it can damage the hand of the revolver and throw the timeing off which can be dangerous.
Thank you very much I appreciate it, yeah I know not to do that I just did it once for the video, thanks for watching
