If they made a base model/high trim model/ ultimate model viper like chevy did with the corvettes they could have had 1 viper with a aluminum block 392 hemi, one with the V10, and one with a hellcat engine maybe, i bet they would have sold a good amount but then it wouldnt make it a "exotic" car anymore i guess.
@@Garf2O Hemis don't fit between the shock towers of Vipers. I guess they could have MADE it fit by changing the suspension geometry or something. But I don't think they could ever have gotten it competitive with base Corvette pricing. No one else has managed to create enough volume to replicate what the Corvette does. But, maybe by offering some V8 automatic version they could have gotten enough old guys who want to "cruise" with the wife to get in the ballpark. But everyone involved with the Viper pretty well agreed, any car that appeals to that guy isn't a Viper.
That is the first dog I've seen that actually looks out the front windshield intently as if to be paying attention to the road. "Roadkill Dog" knows what's up!

To everyone: These 3 cars are manufacture development cars, after a year or so, all 3 of them will be crushed and made into a SRT washing machine. So thats why Dodge and SRT dosent give a crap how they treated the cars, they just got 39 minutes of advertisement of their 3 flagship cars for sale right now. Even a small burnout fills the cabin from smoke. Many places from the cowl, vents etc... Just build quality too... Had to have windows down to get fresh air.

vivalaphill Don't see why not, they showed what 700hp does to tires. You only buy a Hellcat or Viper to do one of two things anyway, go really fast in a straight line or annihilate tires. If anything its Pirelli that wouldn't want their stuff shown anymore as that was the only component that failed in the video.

They beat the hell outta these cars in ways owners never would and they took it, except the tires. I mean what owner in their right mind would even take a Viper on a dirt road, let alone a dirt track. I think that most people here don´t get that dodge didn´t let them destroy the cars. I doubt that any of these have any serious mechanical damage. Dodge will take the cars, wash and polish them, throw on new plastic bumbers and maybe some little suspension things and they will be good as new and ready to be given to the next car magazine to test.

Pre production cars are often scrapped for liability reasons. It's a shame, but that's the way things are. Look at all the vipers Chrysler Corp shredded a few years ago. All test cars or pre production. Now if a hellcat engine "got lost" and ended up in the General Mayhem? That would be cool :)

Pssh, I've been in the passenger seat of a 911 GT2 as the driver went "Hey, wanna see how a $200,000+ 911 looks going offroad?", beyond fun, but the pucker factor was in effect, I will say. Being in that Porsche as it ate piles of dirt and weeds and grass was a bit terrifying.
It has it's old roots, but other than the engine, it got turned into a family car. The 69 Charger is my favorite muscle car of all time, but the new one just looks stupid.

Vanila Kung Sadly there is no market for American cars in Europe. Chevrolet is gone, Dodge is gone, Chrysler is gone....pretty sure Ford won't last here too with its Mustang. There are too many great German cars here, it's hard to compete.

I was looking at a couple different cars on the net , that might replace my 2006 Linc. Towncar. Except for the age, it has been the best car I have ever owned. Jag, coupe or sedan. Cadillac CT6. Linc. Continental 2 door or 4. But after watching this 'LITTLE' battle of '? '... I think I should rethink my selection of vehicles, and take a drive over to the Dodge Dealership and check out their stock. Very impressive beating, and still looking relatively free of damage and sounding as if never being red line to where the valves were flooting to the point of kissing the tops of the pistons, the amount of dirt that was inhaled throw the open air port in the grill that feeding the superchargers. And , no plugged air filters. Superchargers are extremely sensitive to temp., dirt, rocks, lack of lubricant (due to dirt). why those engines didn't freeze up from heat ? Viper is known for it's cooling problems, and Hellcat's designers ran through all kinds of hoops to control the heating problems . What you have done for the Chrysler Dodge Company, the could buy five of each of those cars. This advertising was a brain storm. Kudos to who though of this episode. I am going to my Dodge Dealership in a couple hours when they open to look at one of these cars. And will show them this video. Then to my buddies to show them. etc. United States of America . I kinda miss the 'old' Roadkill episode style: The Draguar type builds, the long road trips in old hacks, the Cheap Truck challange, ect. I know Dodge is the new sponsor and all, but I feel that this episode was one looooong (and a bit boring) commercial for the top-of-the-line Dodge products.
I am a true JDM fan to the bone, but Dodge has come such a long way. The entire line-up demand respect down to the newly designed Durango which might be one of the best looking SUV.
Out of the 3 I'd definitely take the Viper.. There's ECU tunes coming out now that boost the power by a lot, and it's an actual sports car Plus it's got a v10 which is bad ass
V8 motors have more torque around the low end so they are quicker but I have always been fascinated by that viper v10. I don't think I would be able to choose one or the other lol.

I get so excited when i see these, i was doing something and saw this update, literally ran to my computer!!
I think that most people here don´t get that dodge didn´t let them destroy the cars. I doubt that any of these have any serious mechanical damage. Dodge will take the cars, wash and polish them, throw on new plastic bumbers and maybe some little suspension things and they will be good as new and ready to be given to the next car magazine to test.

Pre production cars are often scrapped for liability reasons. It's a shame, but that's the way things are. Look at all the vipers Chrysler Corp shredded a few years ago. All test cars or pre production. Now if a hellcat engine "got lost" and ended up in the General Mayhem? That would be cool :)

I was looking at a couple different cars on the net , that might replace my 2006 Linc. Towncar. Except for the age, it has been the best car I have ever owned. Jag, coupe or sedan. Cadillac CT6. Linc. Continental 2 door or 4. But after watching this 'LITTLE' battle of '? '... I think I should rethink my selection of vehicles, and take a drive over to the Dodge Dealership and check out their stock. Very impressive beating, and still looking relatively free of damage and sounding as if never being red line to where the valves were flooting to the point of kissing the tops of the pistons, the amount of dirt that was inhaled throw the open air port in the grill that feeding the superchargers. And , no plugged air filters. Superchargers are extremely sensitive to temp., dirt, rocks, lack of lubricant (due to dirt). why those engines didn't freeze up from heat ? Viper is known for it's cooling problems, and Hellcat's designers ran through all kinds of hoops to control the heating problems . What you have done for the Chrysler Dodge Company, the could buy five of each of those cars. This advertising was a brain storm. Kudos to who though of this episode. I am going to my Dodge Dealership in a couple hours when they open to look at one of these cars. And will show them this video. Then to my buddies to show them. etc. United States of America . Out of the 3 I'd definitely take the Viper.. There's ECU tunes coming out now that boost the power by a lot, and it's an actual sports car
Plus it's got a v10 which is bad ass
The displacement in that engine holds potential for MASSIVE power.. Would be cool to see how much power it could produce
V8 motors have more torque around the low end so they are quicker but I have always been fascinated by that viper v10. I don't think I would be able to choose one or the other lol.
