Probably the hardest enemy you'll come across both demos. It has summons, high damage moves and halfway through the fight decides to almost insta kill most of my team. If you're low level you will die with that Rebirth move. Red is a must here. To get this boss to show up in the combat simulator you need to grab all intel in Junon. Basically do the side fights in the map, and also fight all unique enemy types in the map. Once you do you can fight the boss. Tough fight but managed to get that Phoenix Materia :)
Do you even vengeance mode?
I did all of the side fights but phoenix isn’t showing up for me

I try to unlock this but for the one world intel I need to prevent enemies from taking flight, I have no idea how, any tips?
@@ShinSaotomeI think you might have to do all the other similation fights too. That’s when it popped up for me

It may still be there. When you check the enemy intel, it displays phoenix with a fort condor background.

This guide gave me a crazy head start. I had my whole party off the first stagger with limit breaks and he immediately kills Cloud and Aerith and then I somehow clutch the rest of the fight with JUST Red XIII. Funny, putting Fire and Elemental materia into my armor really helped out a lot with this too.
Remember you can poison Phoenix. Forget not the lessons learned from Hell house!😊

Just beat Phoenix from watching your gameplay! Red XIII rips! W/ the addition of no items in battle when playing on full might, it's indeed challenging but yet overall exciting & fun! Thank you Rubhen!
congrats. Yea Red is pretty good if you know how to use him. Building ATB with the charged attack and using the full meter ability to instantly kills flans, bombs and smaller summons, helped a lot. plus he builds stun meter as well. I don't think I can sub him off anymore LOL
@@Rubhen925 It's been a tough choice for me between him and Tifa. Tifa has aerial combat and her ability to increase stagger damage % is uniquely valuable, but I'm giving the _slight_ edge to Red only because I already had a whole game of Tifa.
Nice fight! The way i beat Phoenix was so goofy lol. I got it to the first stagger, spammed x2 focus strike with tifa to get increase stagger dmg, then used her limit + clouds limit. It almost died from that, then it killed both tifa and aerith with flames of rebirth. Then i had to solo it with cloud, used ramuh and dealt with the adds, then survived until ramuh finished it off haha
If you use focus thrust instead of Braver when the enemies pressured, it raises the Stagger way higher. Same with Focus Strike and Focus shot. Focus shot with 2 ATB bars can rise Phoenix stagger by half in one shot when its pressured. Also spell Blade on max charge insta kills the flan monster.

Notice how much faster AI Cloud attacks. That's cuz hit stop is enabled with the character you play. Wish there was an option to disable it
I found the absolute easiest way to do this was to put limit siphon on aeris and she just spams that and healing wind. Will permanently keep your party alive. You can also put fire elemental on armor if she’s dying to rebirth flame.
some thoughts on the demo, if you're going to have an enemy cast a powerful move after it successfully does 'x move' twice, make sure it does these moves within the sight of the player, the amount of times i was looking for phoenix to do 'said move' so i could prevent its rebirth move but could not see it and just does the rebirth move out of nowhere. I think it just does that move when it falls below a certain HP? that assess info needs rewording i think. it can get pretty overwhelming with the amount of enemies on screen and those enemies being able to hit like trucks one after the other. Needs to be a tiny invincibility window to avoid this. because of the multiple enemies and those enemies casting moves off screen it can get very unfair at various points in the fight, I feel like remake did a better job with balancing this? i think something like what dmc3 did with enemies off screen not engaging is needed either that or tone down frequency. saying that, the combat is brilliant there's mechanics in the game i think they could explain deeper/clearer. I can see why they really wanted to encourage people to play this part of the demo, there's so much that's changed! If the difficulty is going to come down to these 'unfair' instances, it'll definitely won't be as fun as remakes hard mode. I still think they have done a pretty stellar job with expanding the combat though, so fun!

Personally I saw the moves and knew when he was gonna do it, it's important to prepare before hand or use revivals, either way it's fine
And I think rebirth needs more stuff like this otherwise it's gonna be easy ish
What level was everyone in your party? I’m wondering if I should do some leveling first
i went in at level 21 and got clapped 7 times. Went back and leveled to level 23 and it helped to withstand some moves.
@@Rubhen925 I got my ass kicked after like 15 attempts. Managed to beat it at lv.21. Fight was fun and the music was so good

23 is a sweet spot, just prepare for rebirth and that's it

I think they should give additional rewards for higher difficulty, its so diff from the weaker version.
I wish the Summons 'cutscenes' were slower but all in all very impressed with them for Rebirth

I almsot solo the whole fight with red, he gets his lb back really fast and that means more hp and mp
I finally downed this bastard yesterday. I wound up saving Tifa and Aerith's LB for phase 2 while using Cloud's for phase 1 to deal damage for the first stagger. I then got everyone's HP back up using Aerith's LB, followed by Cloud/Aerith's synergy coupled with Tifa's LB to instantly kill the summoned adds, and then finish off Phoenix. It took about 2 hours of attempts.
Will the phoenix materia carry to the full game? (I’m trying to see if is worth the fight in full might )

how can you attack phoenix with cloud ? i can't he's litteraly out of range, my cloud attack nothing ,
Dodge then tap attack to use the ranged blade beams, dodge then hold attack to dash to the enemy and become airborne, keep attacking and/or dodging (in a direction) to stay in the air, dodge with no direction to fast fall.
I doubt they will allow the summon materia to carry over to the full game or would they? 🤔

Nothing from Junon demo carries over. Just the ability to skip Nibelheim flashback.
What the hell is Empowering Flame in the intel? I'm having a hell of a time preventing Rebirth Flame.
oh my god i thought it was just me, i think i saw this move ONCE. i assume all the other times i missed it were all offscreen ALL THE TIME. -_-
I think I remember seeing it use it. I think it's after the first two waves of it summoning enemies, executing Rebirth Flame, and summoning all enemies from the last two waves at once

it doesnt unlock for me somehow i finished all the intel stuff and i still cant access it
Clear all chadley missions too
Same says 7/9 enemies killed but I killed all them did all the training missions and killed every enemy on the world, passed all challenges even in full all requirements.
@@storybookgamer there's two enemies your missing. Random ones. Just go around with choco until u see the enemies you havnt fought yet.

Tbh this fight is so poorly designed. Just a chaotic bullet hell mess of shit being constantly spammed at you. I’m getting so sick of the “Soulsbrain” devs have. They have dark souls level difficulty for the enemies but then handicap the hell out of the player.
Pretty much what it feels like. Enemies randomly hitting you off screen. Like that granhorn enemy. No matter how much you dodge that aoe still hits. Fire tracks. That rebirth move which you can't block or parry. You just take a hit. I'd like to see how people no damage that 😂
@@Rubhen925indeed. I followed your lead because your use of Red X III is fantastic. I dare say I even had a slightly bette/luckier run, destroyed the summons, pressured, staggered, unleashed a shitload of specials, synergy, limits, got the Phoenix health down to half, aaaaand he pulls a cutscene attack that insta-kills 2/3 of my party, last member gets mopped by the additional 3+ enemies that instantly get summoned. Like come on that’s absolutely obnoxious game design.
@flibbergibberstein 🤣 that move is such garbage design. Try using Barrett cloud and red. Give them all heal materia if you have them. Barretts bonus round is a beast. Super helpful against the enemies and bosses.

Quit giving up and use strategy.
People always complain with any sign of struggle in gaming nowadays. The summoned enemies all have a weakness that almost insta staggers them, which then they get destroyed after that.
Have magnify with shell up most of the fight and save aeriths limit for after the rebirth flame. Bravery on cloud or red is very helpful too. The demo gives you plenty to work with here so its not bad at all once you take the time to assess the fight. I even got him to about 70% health and once staggered killed him in 1 go using tifa to raise stagger %s. So you can bypass rebirth flame anyways.
