    Awesome handles for shipping! When I moved from Los Angeles to Hawaii, I shipped my machines differently. i first sent my Consew Zig Zag in wood box. All was good until it arrived at the house, that's when the USPS guy dropped it. the corner took the hit, and cracked my hand/pulley wheel. I then got another Idea. I bought a used Coleman ice chest and put my pfaff walking foot sewing machine securely inside. Tapped it shut, spelled --->HANDLE WITH CARE

    Great solution. Also excellent use of the table saw. So many people here on youtube just use it in a dangerous way (ex not using push stick, using the fence for cross cuts, using the fence with a cross cut sled without a stand-off etc).

      I don't know why people spend so much time talking about the safety of table saw use. Even if I did all the things you pointed out, and I have at some point, it is far safer than the risks posed by motorcycle riding. People have lost more limbs and lives on those motorcycles you seem to be rather comfortable sitting upon than using table saws in all manners. I like motorcycles and I am unconcerned with the level of risk that you are willing to accept for your own enjoyment. I wish you health and happiness. Thank you for the kind sentiment.

      @@AlexanderDyer I think you might have misunderstood my comment, I am not against table saw usage, and neither am i criticizing the way you use it. I actually often use a table saw as well. The point is not 'a table saw is dangerous thus you should not use it', it is not A versus B, it is about taking unnecessary risk. If you go by your analogy of a motorcycle, it is between riding safely and defensively versus not paying attention. Its about reducing the risk of whatever dangerous activity you are doing, whether using power tools or riding a bike or anything else.
      Maybe I should elaborate more on why I posted my comment. As a youtuber if you post videos, you are not just using the tool as an individual, but also making an example for others. Therefore showing a good example of using a tablesaw, or riding a motorcycle safely, is more than just your own personal safety, which is obviously a good thing. Who knows, it might even help save someone else from losing his finger. At the same time, there are many, many youtubers that are not using the tablesaw in a safe way, way more than any other power tool, and this could give a poor example to beginners learning how to use the tools.
      For me personally when I started out using a tablesaw, seeing other people do it safely, or even instructing how to use it safely helped me a lot to be aware of the dangers, and to use the tool in a safe manner. Doubly so, as safe usage of a table saw is not as obvious compared to other tools.

      I agree that my videos are "examples" but I bristle at the idea that as a maker of video that I might have some sort of implied responsibility. After all, a bad example can be learned from just as surely as a good one.
      We each choose our own risk and level of safety. Enjoy your motorcycle hobby and I won't throw cold water with how you should operate or video it.

    Amazing Job Homie. Incredible. They used to package sewingmachines like that back in the days as well. And also this reminds me on Packagings for the Military, specially with a hemp cordel.

    Really perfect organized and well done. I feel you love your work dealing with it as a hobby rather than a job. Helpful tools specially the screw driver and drill. Thanking you much

    The best packaging so far i have seen. I still see problems though. International shipping has restrictions on what wood you can use. Here in Canada we have to send crates to the U.S. made out of heat treated wood due to insects. WE can't use the real wood you used for the bottom. This would be good for domestic shipping only. Love the inspection instructions, customs are not mind readers of the builder. This box would have a hard time on a flight upside down, auto conveyors don't distinguish what side is up, so the base may not carry the weight at all times. There are never two people to carry one package in any logistic system for this size object, the handles are very good for this item.

    • @AlexanderDyer
      @AlexanderDyer  6 років тому +1

      Upside down is no problem, sideways is an even tougher situation but it will withstand that as well. I carry these by myself with the two handles and if people are using the handles it tends to keep the crate upright without the "this end up" label that is so hated by package movers. The handles are a service to the shipping workers that I hope they will benefit from. The bottom could easily be substituted with treated lumber but it makes no sense to spend that money for domestic shipping. I have successfully shipped to Puerto Rico and all over the US. Thanks for the insight into international shipping, I appreciate it.
