  • I just picked up this Juki 563LU Industrial Sewing machine! The machine was in great condition but the table was trash. I could just buy a new one, but what fun would that be? Building one is much more fun plus the end product is a better quality. Follow along as I build this sewing machine table using bamboo plywood.

    Great job! You should consider a servo motor. Makes industrial machines a whole lot more fun and much quieter.

    Awesome job on the table. I was gifted my wife’s Grandmother’s Juki 227 that she used and the table is in good condition I just replaced the T molding around the perimeter and I’m buying paint today for the frame. I also replaced the clutch motor with a servo motor.

    Beautiful work. The machine is diamonds top of the line. I am thinking to do the same for my pride and joy consew rb-1. Thanks for taking the time in the proper way of making a tapble top. You are my inspiration for how a DIY can get things done.

    Nice job; I just bought a 563 as well, so I may be doing the same thing shortly. Fortunately I'm a much better woodworker than leatherworker, so it shouldn't be too hard! BTW, if you are interested in switching over to a servo motor vs. that clutch monster, there are some extremely well-priced Induro motors now available on the Bay. I don't think the company is around anymore, so the pricing is crazy-low, and the motors have an excellent reputation according to folks on the leading leatherworker forum. I have one that I am going to retrofit. Enjoy!

      Thank you Kevin🤙...Great minds think alike;) Thanks for the info on the servo motors. The video shows me putting back on the old clutch motor, but I already had a servo motor on order and it had not been delivered on time for the video. I also found I had to change the pulley on the motor to a smaller one to get the speed down to were I wanted it. It’s been a fun learning process ...

    Silly question, the type of table u are using, can you put casters on it, i have the same type of table on my juki, but i was wondering if this type of table can take casters. its quite heavy for me to move when im trying to clean my sewing room, any advice is greatly appreciated. ty.

    • @ShalohaCreations
      @ShalohaCreations  2 місяці тому +1

      The table is not designed to accept casters but I think it wouldn’t be that hard to do. I would use the locking kind so that it wouldn’t roll 😊around while using it.

    I just picked up the same machine with the same table top issue… I don’t know if I’m confident enough to make one. I may have to watch this video multiple times. Do you think a butcher block counter top will work? It would be easier than glueing 2 boards together. Thoughts?

    • @ShalohaCreations
      @ShalohaCreations  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Elvia, butcher block should work just fine. I built mine the way I did because I already had the material in my shop to work with.. they make new replacement tops for these tables as well, it may be easier or less expensive just to find a pre made replacement. 👍

    You did a great job on the table, but you didn't show us anything, just a high speed clip of a few of the steps. If you had taken the time to explain what materials you used and showed the critical steps of how you cut out for the machine, it would have been great. Also you should have replaced the motor with a new servo motor while you had everything apart.

    • @ShalohaCreations

      Thanks Roncrawford, servo motor was on order and didn’t arrive on time for the video ;) Unfortunately in a world of people with short attention spans I’ve had to clip my videos down to under 7min otherwise people seem to loose interest and I get very few views. Still trying to figure out how to make videos that people will watch. Thanks for the advice 🤙
