@@jackalope7774 Agreed there. FF16 was like any other general game OST. On top of that getting beat out on sound design by a Rhythm game of all things. Not saying I'm mad that a non heavy hitter got an award, it wasn't complete sweets for AW2 and BG3, but some of things that did win in some categories didn't make any sense. But that's popular vote for you.
@@MeravokasDid you play to Hi-Fi rush ? Between Alan wake 2, Dead Space and Hi-Fi rush, it was a hard one for the Sound design, I can only trying to convince you to play Hi-Fi Rush, the mix with the Action + Rythm game is refreshing. I'm happy that it has won, I was more scared for the "Best narrative" because between AW2 and BG3, I really think that AW2 takes this part.
I'm so happy that Alan Wake 2 won 3 very important awards ❤️ and Herald of Darkness live 😍 "so meta!". P.S: Even Matthew Porretta aka Alan's voice aka Dr. Casper Darling was dancing at the end 🤣❤️
@@isaacgraff8288 Any game would have struggled for that position with Baulder's Gate 3 on the list, but damn if that doesn't change the fact that Alan 2 is a masterpiece.
I would have stood up and applauded for a good five minutes at least yelling “LETS GOOOO” if I was in the audience. I memorable moment for Sam to carry for ever.
Sam looks so happy dancing between Ilkka and David. I had a big smile on my face when I watched this and the only thing that was going to make it even better would be seeing Martii in the background cleaning the floor.
The only thing I can say is that I bought a new monster PC to play this masterpiece like it deserves. I'm 35 years old and I'm coming from the first Max Payne 1. Greetings from Spain!!
That was exactly what I was hoping it would be. Weeks ago I noticed PotF had a week gap in their schedule and I was like Keeley would be a fool not to make this happen. Didn't know if they'd be able to get Alan cause I know he's on a Finnish TV show, but they got everyone and did everything I was hoping for. Best scene in video games is now the best musical performance at an awards show.
Didn't watch the awards this year but ive seen this bit like 5 times! I love that they did that, both in game and the awards show! It's makes me a proud Finn! Go Sam, Go Remedy! Torille!!
I almost tear up every time I watch this, god dam was this so outstandingly perfect in every way! Watching it live was such a beautiful moment! Alan Wake 2 made solidified me as a hardcore remedy fanboy, control got me half way there but AW2 brought out the cement truck and kept pouring Sam Lakes world into my souls until I couldn’t stop smiling.
I love this so much and was so excited when it happened. It's awesome that Sam, Matthew, Ilkka, and David were all able to participate in it too! Sam looked like he was having so much fun.
Honestly, Poets of the Fall as The Old Gods of Asgard being the Finnish entry next year in Eurovision would be a dream, with a brand new song to add to the old gods discography
I'll admit I started doing Finnish Duolingo after AW2. one of the first things they teach you is how to call someone a wizard, so presumably it's an awesome country
To me, in particular, It's so cool the way Ilka acts all the scenes and the dances in succession - there's no downtime for him :) Overall this is just so sweet and magical!
Even before playing this game, or even the first ALAN WAKE, I was a huge fan of Finnish metal - my favorite band is Nightwish, and my favorite song is AMARANTH. Poets of the Fall has just made me realize that I'm right.
Hey maizkii, loving your view on games, seeing as Finland is getting so brilliantly represented recently I thought you might play some of the other great Remedy games and share your unique inside opinion of them from a Finnish perspective.
they've always been. Poets of the Fall have been making music since 2003. Their discography is truly something amazing. 9 studio albums. They are wild.
Sam Lake so long deserved that. He always fought for the Alan Wake IP and finally he could make his dream come true. In my opinion (I am no RPG fan btw :D ) AW2 is the Game of the Year 2023. This is not just a simple video game, this is art. This cooperation with Poets of the Fall and even an entire short film "Nightless Night" or "Yötön Yö" in the game itself. This IS art. And I am so glad Sam Lake finally has the time of his life. Yes, he is the art director at Remedy but in all interviews you can see that he is no straight businessman who only cares for numbers but he is a gamer with passion for what he's doing.
Are you a big Poets of the Fall fan? I'm always curious how popular they (or HIM) are in actual Finland. As an American, HIM got a little big, but sadly Poets has yet to really break over here, which sucks.
I used to listen to their music back when they released songs like Carnival of Rust because they were on the radio a lot. Nowadays not so much, but I'm so happy this game brought them back to my attention and they're getting a lot of recognition everywhere which is awesome. HIM has been big in Finland pretty much all my life I feel like.
I wonder what people who haven't played AW2 was thinking in this moment. You really do need to have the context to even know what the hell is going on lmao
If everyone was as passionate about gaming as Sam Lake, the world would be a much better place, without MTX and yearly cash grab games, thank you Sam Lake for so many memories!
The smile on Sam's face is so amazing, he's having the time of his life
That was awesome to see. He deserves it.
They truly deserve it!
So deserving!! ❤️
so amazing to see him up there sharing the stage with others :)
Ikka looks so _confused_ the entire time his face acting is amazing.
Gutted that AW2 didn't win GOTY, but BG3 was worthy winner. I loved that Sam Lake and the Remedy team is truly enjoying themselves on the stage
They had a ton of fun doing it for the game itself, I don't know why they wouldn't have fun on the stage directly!
I was more disappointed it didn’t take Best Soundtrack/Score.

I think this was the best performance at TGA, I was so happy for Sam Lake. You could see it in the sparkle in his eyes 😍
I don't blame Sam for being excited.
yes! so amazing:)
This was SO AMAZING. How Sam smiled when he came on stage was so cooooool😁😁😁😁😁😁. He was so happy and had so much fun, GOAT😁

Old Gods of Asgard should compete in Eurovision!! We love 80s rock!

100% agree, amazing how they pulled this off and was able to condense that entire scene into this 4 minutes performance. Brilliant!

Max Payne dancing, now I've seen it all! 😄
I love it... Can't stop watching reactions 🎉❤
you can see the sheer joy on Sam's face, he is living his best life
Marko looks so cool, even though he only pretends to play the guitar, obviously because he's a Poets' singer.
The greatest performance 🥳🥰😍! Upea reaktio 😁!

100% agree!
Love the Finnish accent 😂
I absolutely loved this moment! I hope Poets of the Fall gets more fans from this too!!
I hope so as well :)
It’s like Eurovision. Amazing.

I would have hired some people in FBC jackets to escort Sam Lake off the stage, ha ha.
Now imagine if it opened with Ahti singing Yoton Yo.

Alan Wake deserved GOTY. Baldur's Gate did not deserve it. Not by a long shot, even THEY said they didn't think they'd win.
Baldur’s Gate absolutely deserved it, but Alan Wake was great as well.
