Fighting Off Your Back: Hip Bump Submission
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 лип 2018
- Coach Vince breaks down how to fight off of your back in great detail, showing an effective guard sequence. First he will teach how to hip bump your opponent from guard, to reverse your position and land in mount. Then he will show different variations to set up submissions like the Kimura and Guillotine chokes. Be sure to support Vince 'The Anomaly' as he steps back into the cage for his 5th pro MMA fight next week, July 20th!

Shane - Muay Thai
Vince - BJJ/MMA
PJ - Boxing
Bubba - Wrestling
This channel has come a long way.
I think you could also add Taekwondo/MMA/Boxing (like an "allrounder" :D ) to Shane
That was always my vision for FIGHTTIPS! I never wanted to be the center of attention -- I've always wanted a hub of trainers to spread martial arts knowledge to the masses 🙏
One day I'll have the money to afford BJJ Classes.
Kevin
If you want you could do what I did.... Just go to every BJJ gym in your city they pretty much all offer a free week but learn as much as you can from one and take a couple weeks training those drills then go to the next and learn as much as possible there.. I learned a decent amount like that and it's free plus when you can go you have a good idea of what gym you like best
Quick tip for finishing the Kimura from either full or half guard: instead of using your arms to push the lock into submission, hug it tight to your chest, extend your back out, and rotate with your shoulders. Also, if you’re doing it from guard, hip out more and more. This will push his shoulder closer to the mat while also giving you more room to torque (similar to the omoplata)
Hope it helps guys! And Shane, keep up the good work!
Jo Shmo yup exactly. We should do one just on the finishing principles of the kimura.
Vince Cachero For sure, man. I mean, in the street? No question. Easy finish even with sloppy technique. But against someone who knows how to defend; you’ll need to be extra-particular about position
*N O H O M O*
I love this Vince guy
Must be fate you were posting striking vids when I was in Muay Thai, now I'm starting Bjj and you're posting things relating to Bjj love the content man!
Thoroughly enjoying Vince's advise. Easy to follow and implement into your own game. I like how he points out the little details that make this technique work as well as defense and transitions.
Keep up the great work you two!
Al Capown thank you!
Vince, good luck on your next fight. And I swear this video was helpful.
We just went over this in class 2 weeks ago! This is crazy!
Shane may i just say im loving all the BJJ content your pushing out recently keep it up.
Ah that's great to hear -- thank you for the feedback! We're always reading the comments, so this definitely helps us when we plan video topics!
Well then I second that.... I especially like the BJJ and wrestling solo drills
i love the BJ content as well
I've been practicing this sequence on my BOB dummy...
Thanks for the tip
Thank man. This will help.
Love it tx guys
nice stuff
Good shit
awesome
Excellent
Considering that I started Gi BJJ this past Tuesday learning these things can be useful when rolling
Back to basics love it
great!!
Quick tip, instead of being flat on your back while hitting the Kimura shoot your butt out to the side and get on your hip. Bring your knee high up onto his shoulder blade and pinch your knees together. Then ride your opponent hand up his spine instead of lifting it to the sky. It’s a hell of a lot tighter that way.
When finishing a guillotine choke do an oblique crunch instead of just leaning back. It’s an instant choke and it takes all the space away where your opponent head is at while conducting the choke.
We teach this series in army combative. Love your videos.
I disagree.
The kimura you suggested could make your opponent roll over, lay on his arm, and/or might escape by defending the arm by taking his other arm and push his kimurad arm down to relive pressure. I suggest you do it as i the video. Also going for the arm to the spine it will look more like a "police-shoulderlock" and thats harder to finish the opponent with.
For the guillotine, the crunching thing you do with the "arm in guilliotine". This is a no-arm guilliotine. Then you should do like the video instructs.
@@guest0046 i think you should go to army combative school and tell the instructors your opinion.
@@hogsandstews blackbelt in bjj been training since 2004.
You think some "army" instructor knows better at submission grappling?
The army guys barley train close combat since thats the least common way you fight in a war
learned this sweep (raspagem) in my 8th bjj class I supposed. but instead we would grab the belt behind the back. pretty cool. cheers from brasil
man you are great :D i got today hip bump sweeped 3 times and my bjj game is all about triangle, armbar and rear naked choke (sometimes brabo choke) this will help me a lot thank you
You can faint the hip bump and go for a triangle. Just pull out your leg on the same side of your opponents basing hand. There should be a huge gap on that side where your opponent is basing his hand. Pretty slick hehe
Hip bump is a classic and high percentage. Gotta be quick with it though.
Chandasouk yup it’s all in the timing
Hey Shane just wanted to ask if there's any chance of another wave of underdog gloves to be available for purchase. Love the vids and can't wait for what's next
Please Shane, can we get a comprehensive guide on the Arm Triangle Choke: Escapes, Finishes etc. ??
short question. could you guys make a backtake video? would make a good addition to the suplex video :)
Bouta have a mma Mach’s with my friend wish me luck
Can you do another one on Vasily
I've been watching your videos for a few years and I really appreciate your effort. If your ever near Alabama and need a sparring or training partner hmu. I'm not calling you out or nothing I just think we're both similarly skilled and could probably help each other a lot. I've trained a bit in boxing, jiu jitsu, and Muay Thai with some taekwondo kicks and a few various moves from other stuff.( Probably similar to ur background I would guess lol) I've never been out boxed by anyone though not even Giants and I'm 145lb 6,0 lol anyways much respect man and if you ever are in the area and want to spar or something im not one of those prideful assholes that don't know the difference between sparring and fighting lol.anyways much respect. I think your Muay Thai kicks knees and clinch work might be what it takes to combat my boxing skills, maybe, if ya wanna see i guess you'd just have to come see lol... Anyways good luck with your channel I really appreciate the new coaches too and how your getting more into the ground aspect of things genuinely thank you friend for eliminating just a bit of the ignorance in the world about fighting thank you
Dude I think you know my thai instructor, Frank wells. Hes awesome
Violence is not cool, fighting should only be done in self-defense, and bullies suck.
4:30. Make a tight v shape and bring elbow as close to head as possible. Important tip.
Could you explain the Guillotine defense?
I would love to have Vince as a coach! I love his teaching style!
Junie Milligan thanks!
Heard that!
fightTIPS I never said you're not good Shane, I just said I like how Vince teaches! 😂
Is this sweep still applicable with gi
Probably first
I love when shane gets tossed around
👍
Despite I respect all kinds of the Martial Arts, I do those only with standing up position, like Muay Thai, as I regard others are including obscene movements 😅.
Don't take seriously, I'm just joking. I said at the beginning I respect all kinds of M.A.
Good job duds,
Shane, kindly make a video about how a, Muay Thai, beginner can do effective defence, and to change it to a counter attack.
Thanks in advance,
Kelly Davis in Macon GA 🦅👈🦅👈🦅👈🦅👈🦅👈🦅👈🦅👈🦅👈🦅
But what if they are throwing punches!?
What about when your opponent is in full mount? I struggle more in this situation when I'm on my back
AARON GIZA we can cover this
Vince Cachero Thank you, that would be awesome
It's 2 different situations.
Full guard or closed guard is a good guard for grappling (not MMA) since your opponent cant (almost cant) attack, they have to open the guard first (unless wristlocks).
In full mount, the guy on his back cant attack until he escaped mount (or pushed the other guy away and goes for a ashi garami -> heelhook or something)
There are many ways to escape the full mount. Usually you have to chain a couple of escapes to make it work.
You should have me on the show sometime. The fans would learn a lot from me.
And you are?
João Piedade kevin "the notorious stinky leg" mcgregor of course... do you live in a cave
So he’s got herpes on his leg? Gee, now I feel like a dick...wait that didn’t come out right.
illyrian Raider also, ILLYRIA MAXIMA! (or whatever the Romans would salute, I don’t know)
João Piedade haha hail brother ☺
I wanted to see you on the ksi Logan Paul undercard
What if he passes the gard instead
0:23 wow Shane I didn't know you made pornos😂
Hey Shane just letting you know UA-cam unsubscribed me from you. Just letting you know. Hopefully it's not a continuous problem. Great vid though!
Looks a bit like a scissor sweep
propoika14 its the no gi scissor sweep
When doing the hip bump sweep i suggest you dont put your leg touching the mat, like you do on a scissor sweep. When you do the scissor sweep, you are more on the side, you put your knee/leg on the groud and the other leg you frame on the ribs and the switch the legs.
The hip bump you are in a open guard.
If it doesnt make sence just youtube scissor sweep
Elevator sweeps are easier, sneakier, and set up more stuff.
Jose Anaya ? As way?
Who says you need to be flashy with moves keep it simple and effective
I have bjj today how convenient
Shane v phase sensei on Logan Paul v Degi
Under card
They should spar and he who wins, then put on UA-cam
first
nice double option attack but set up is too slow. pushing hands off and bumping hip is a red flag but that reach across is too slow.
Why didn't cm punk do this xd
BJJ > Wrestling
WORLD WAR TRUMP wait until a wrestler put a Bjj person on their neck
AbsoluteZ3R0 Wait until a wrestler puts a BJJ guy on his back where he is comfortable, and then gets put in a triangle choke.
It all depends on context
WORLD WAR TRUMP Bjj people can't even Takedown wrestlers, the only they can summit them is take them down but wrestlers have way more Takedown defense experience than Bjj people
AbsoluteZ3R0
ua-cam.com/video/LMRZ8fsy83A/v-deo.html
That guillotine will work on most people but really good wrestlers will get out of it. I have never not gotten out of that one. I bet people want to say oh but it wasn't don't the right way, right person yadda yadda. try it on a state champ wrestler or collegiate level wrestler won't work from that position. From behind yes, from bottom no.
If your a wrestler turn your head into the choke and drive your skull into their ribs so hard you literally compress them to make space. The same way you force a bow and arrow. It's really painful for the guy trying the guillotine and forces enough space to pop your head out. You have all the leverage if you do it e"right his ribs are the the fulcrum and your whole body is the lever.
okay..what's ur point? it isn't like that choke is all we have in bjj
The Atlantean not every choke works every time. That’s why we gotta chain options together
@@theatlantean39 Hahah you couldnt be more wrong 😂😂
Do yourself a favor and UA-cam; *Marcelo Garcia vs Ben Askgren* lmao
Ben Askgren is a world champion wrestler and olympic silver medalist among other things
Shameful..
Learning how to fight is shameful?
fightTIPS on no my 2 favorite youtubers
fightTIPS Shane watch some of his videos & you’ll understand
fightTIPS yeah Shane Watch some of his videos there really funny
fightTIPS be careful Shane he might use his Mexican judo on you . Becareful dude 😕
The dummy Shane Fazen explaining for us...I love him, but I get the feeling he isn't a fighter anymore, just a dummy to put demonstrations on...
Dave Flamenco
He's definitely a fighter still and I bet he already knows all the stuff they are demonstrating but just focuses on what he specializes in and allows others to show what they specialize in
Krystine Rios yeah I know so...just I don't get the same feeling like the older days, maybe I'm just old xd anyway I still love the videos and Shane himself, I guess I am just a bored person doing bored person's stuff on youtube, nothing to worry about lol sorry if my English is bad, not an English speaker btw xd peace mate !
