    Man I’m constantly getting arm barred every single practice, I wrestled all of my life and was pretty great, but this whole jujitsu at 31 years old is brutal. I got arm bar tonight by guy and my elbow is killing me right now so I’m really trying to get better at not letting my arms hang free.

      33 year old woman here, and I get arm-barred all the damn time. Lol. It’s exactly why I’m here. Have these tips and techniques helped you with defending the arm bar?

      Hands on hips in guard. Also tell ppl they don’t need to try to break your arm. You need to trust your training partners

      I feel your pain. I'm trying this at 51 and this one guy constantly hurts me with this damned hold. Even when it's supposed to be an easy roll. I'm trying to get better vs not giving up.

      35 here and now I know the moment I'm caught and escape is less than 75% chance. Not worth the strain on the arm. Took about a year to know when the game was over and to save myself

      Kobies Boxing exactly. I always Saw shane as a striker with not so good grappling, but its great to see he is not one of these dudes who talks shit about the grappling and underrestimate it.. i see so many of those guys out there, thank god its not shane

    This is why I like Jujitsu so much, that little detail of putting your knee behind his butt to keep you from rolling you over is so important but can be so easily forgotten. Jujitsu requires so much detail and technique to be successful! Great video!

    • @guest0046
      @guest0046 5 років тому +1

      Yeah, just a note. I wouldnt recommend using the 2:35 technique where he tilts him to that side.
      If I was in Shanes position I would just do a belly down armbar which is stronger.
      And be careful not to "overstack" (when doing the stacking technique) your opponent cause the guy could just spin under and so a belly down armbar.
      Belly down armbars are really strong and I with bigger and stronger opponents, I know they will stack me and I counter that with a belly down armbar.

      Silvafox it's dependent on the situation. If the other guy isn't defending himself and is clearly in danger, your combination is going to be a bit longer. If the other guy is getting his second wind and throwing a lot with more power, you're going to want down shorter combinations focused on creating distance.
