    Something to point out is that even though the maneater pistols do more damage on paper than the leadbelchers, the leadbelchers will outclass them in practice. The reason for this is that the projectiles of leadbelchers can damage multiple targets while the projectiles from the pistols will only damage one target.

      One more point on those Scrap Launchers, one turn recruit. A staple of, well I mean technically every army as they are the only catapult, my cheap late game armies. Knoblars, ogre bulls, so.e Sabre Tusk packs, and alot of scrap launchers make a rather good throw away army. 2 turns and twenty units abusing a camp near a settlement.

    Something I have to point out that you do alot in your videos is that you just read the unit card. The biggest example in this video is the Giant. He’s listed as an anti-infantry unit because he is inherently “good” against infantry. He DOES NOT deal anti infantry damage or have a bonus versus infantry. He just has wide and splashy attacks making him better at dealing with them. If you hover the weapon stats you can see a units exact bonuses and base/AP ratio

    The Firebellies are amazing in siege defense. The flame cloak and flame sword abilities are excellent unit buffs that will even let a measly pile of gnoblars stand their ground for a lot longer than they otherwise would. In practice this has been a better use of power reserve than the sketchy projectile arcs of fireball.

    Gnoblar trapers are pretty good in the early and decent even into mid game because of their passive. Just vanguard them as close as possible to the enemy line and once the enemy front line hits them and takes damage from their passive send in the ogres. This is also great because the units attacking gnoblars aren’t braced anymore.

    first composition: i'd improve it by keeping the sabretusks on two to 4 units, 8 gnoblars and 9 ogre bulls, the essencial piece that's missing is the hunter, to buff up the sabretusks giving them frienzy, stalk vanguard and lower upkeep. ( that's also what i use for defense tyrants that are near camps raiding enemy lands, minus the hunter )

    • @keithsstepdad
      @keithsstepdad 2 роки тому +2

      why gnoblars at all when they cost 1 food? their upkeep isn't much less and ogre bulls or the dual wield ogres and both are FAR better

    • @Razielts1
      @Razielts1 2 роки тому +2

      @@keithsstepdad The reason is, if you 're using a whole army of ogres, and the enemy either locks down your ogres, or you're in sustained combat with them, they die.
      Ogres have lower melee defense than melee attack, low armour in general, just generous HP, but high charge bonus and fair speed. Plus the ogre charge passive.
      This tells you, you want to cycle charge ogres, and you cant do that if the enemy can follow you when you're pulling out, so the gnoblars are there to keep the enemy in place.

    I was gonna say this is my opinion I think the giant for the ogre faction is pretty good it's cheaper than the stonehorn plus if you get a slaughter master or butcher or use skrag and use troll gut's on it the giant will almost be unkillable plus there very effective vs korn and slaanesh because of there armor piercing. This is just my opinion

      I think they have the 2nd best giants in the whole series, Beastmen beat them because of how cheap they are and the Beastmen roster can use slow monsters like giants and chaos spawn as it's anvil because Beastmen don't really have anything else to hold ground for the rest of the army.

    I really hope the ogres get at least one other dlc to make them even better and fill in the roster with missing units and maybe have two extra lords with one having a very ogrish mechanic. Those lords quite possibly being golflag maneater and Bragg the gutsman. I know in the lore they aren't necessarily legendary lords but their potential as legendary lords for the game would be wasted as simple recruitable heros like gotrec and Felix.

    • @dantewilliams2757
      @dantewilliams2757 Рік тому +1

      They will they are missing some units like yehtees and thunder tusks as well as lords like golgfag maneater and ghark iron skin. Bragg the gutsman would be a legendary hero rather than lord as the lore states no tribe will follow him because of the way he kills. I would also hope we might get jhared the red who is the first ogre hunter as a surprise legendary lord but the ogres will get another dlc for them it’s just a matter of how long we wait

    Looking at the Hunter's skill tree is it a hindrance to have him in an army with zero Sabertusks? Added him to mine just now for his dmg and mount as a Frontline breaker but noticed all the buffs to the big cats.

    • @klaiken989
      @klaiken989 Рік тому +2

      No, he never is a hindrance. His sabertooth buffs are good for early game if you want a cheap but strong answer to flanking until you get Orgre Cav & Artillery/missiles. Then you can transition him to more damage dealing with his mount and either disband the Sabertooths or throw them into a Orgre camp ro something for defense....
      Sabertooths are more for early game(first 20-40 turns) to be honest or Multi-player. In campaign you quickly unlock units that do their job 10x better than sabertooths could ever hope to do

      @@klaiken989 Yeah after playing a few Skrag campaigns I've decided I'm not a fan of Sabertusks lol. Is it just me who thinks at least Leadbelchers should be dropped down to tier 2 in their military building? Sucks having to wait till turn 30-40 to get actual Ogre ranged units to upgrade from Trappers.

    • @klaiken989
      @klaiken989 Рік тому +1

      @@Sevatar_VIIIth You're telling me lol! I am playing a Greasus campaign. It is night and day once you unlock Orgre Cav and missiles units. Which is why I understand why they make you struggle to survive for those first 20 or so turns. If you unlocked any Cav or true missile unit too early. The game would be yours without much of a struggle combined with the Ogres charge, Mass and damage output. Ogres might have one of the strongest units I have played. Granted I only realized that after unlocking their tier 3 units. Before that I was like "These guys suck" 😅.

      @@klaiken989Yeah I figured that might be a little broken to get them early game, still trying to figure out the quickest route to rush growth for tier 3 camp and that tier 3 military building for them. My first Skrag Champaign I rushed straight growth and by the time I reached the last Border Prince major settlement and wiped them out I was damn near out of meat for Skrag's army. Still playing around with it trying to decide how to do it.

    • @klaiken989
      @klaiken989 Рік тому +1

      @@Sevatar_VIIIth odd, all my armies have 300 food. You have to prioritize atleast one camp in your main settlement being your main recruitment camp. Ogres are nomadic and prioritize using their "offer to the great maw" reduced recruitment ability to get units fast no matter how far away they are. From my experience the rest of the camps are more for defensive settlements in key locations and offensive temporary points that move with your army to keep them replenished and food high.
      One thing I can say with 100% certainty is ALWAYS keep your camps filled with a standing army and ALWAYS have a Tyrant/Slaughter Tyrant next to each camp to lead that army in case you need to use it. After all, each of those camps are HUGE settlements lore wise and each camp always is run by a Tyrant anyways. The camps reduced upkeep makes the army only cost like 6oo gold. Then have like 1 or 2 camp slots that you use to push outwards and expand while the rest serve to be defensive position blocks around your borders and the main one sits In the center of your land as a main recruitment camp

    Going by the unit tiers was a bad call imo and doesn't really represent early/middle/late game. You really should be advising comps using the building tiers rather than unit tiers.
    For example, ogre bulls come from a tier 1 building that's in a starting settlement + every camp, so you'll always have them before the sabretusks. An early game army of gnoblars + sabretusks is pretty absurd and bad advice for a newer player. In reality an early game army is gonna be ogre bulls + variants, with a few gnoblar trappers as chaff and a few lions for backline harass.
    Likewise, the maneater pistols come from the final tier of the maneater building chain so are really a late game unit. They are better than lead belchers, sure but you'll be waiting a long time for them. So the midgame would have lead belchers while the late game is gonna have pistols replacing the belchers and even many of the maneaters.

    • @davidmurray3542
      @davidmurray3542 2 роки тому +1

      Yeah, I'd agree. The ogre tiers are a bit wacky because they don't actually have any tier 3 infantry. Maneaters should be tier 3, imo.

    Your pronounciation.. and your talking speed, it's really hard to keep up at times. When you're doing the army composition.. your talking super fast, and mentioning the same unit 15 times, while mixing in 7 other units. So 100s namings of units, I can't keep up. Not everyone know which unit is which.. if you could please hold your mouse over the units when doing the army comps in your videos.. It would be loved.
    Or, everytime you mention a new unit, just have like a small unit box on the right side top of the screen so we always know what unit your talking about. My third video trying to watch, and I'm just frustrated.
