People are really on about the singer's voice, which is amazing, but damn is that drummer the secret weapon of this band. I'm actually just watching different performances of this song to see how consistent he is. Great in the pocket drummer. Keeps it consistent throughout the song and his fills are always on point. He demands the rest of the band follow his lead and play off him, which is what a strong rhythm section does. I love these guys, and the percussionist (I don't know, but probably should find out his name) is a major reason why.

He's really good, I still remember when this album came out though and I saw them at the BOK. During this song he tried a fill that didn't quite work and scrambled to get back on time.
I have vivid memories of this song playing on the radio as a kid when my dad would pick me up from baseball practice. He passed away suddenly last month. This song played on the radio last night and I completely broke down. Miss him so much, love this song.

He had cancer for around 10 yrs & was only 71 when he passed very suddenly. I dedicated Hero by the Foo Fighters to him because my dad was an amazing man considering the life he had from day 1. 10/23/53-12/12/22 I love & miss you soo much Daddy!!

I know the lyrics were written while recovering from a surgery and that not every damm song has to be about me or anyone but shit. It's just summed up so well. She and her friends go out with make up on ( painted faces). And there's nothing wrong with wearing makeup you know whatever. And living 8 hours away .... you know I can reach her.... but the real killer is " while you live it up I'm off too sleep" when she's out there having a blast I'm stuck at home or off to bed with the fear that she will find a nice guy.
