I love WCW Vs. The World. It was a precursor to the N64 titles. It was developed by The Man Breeze which became AKI. They made the classic line of games: WCW/NWO World Tour, WCW/NWO Revenge, WWF Wrestlemania 2000, and WWF No Mercy, each one being more refined than the previous game. They also made the Def Jam Vendetta games.
I can definitely tell there was a foundation there starting. After playing it, it's hard to say it's bad. It's nowhere near as polished but it's not as bad as games like Nitro and Thunder.
WCW vs The World is good. Was never considered a bad game either. Considering how many wrestling games there are over time, it could be considered one of the best. It set the blueprint for 3D wrestling games to come.
Attitude and Warzone always made me laugh as a kid because of the wacky grapple animations paired with the karate-chop hands waving around. Not to mention the highly-compressed screaming from the wrestlers and the drunk crowd outbursts. Still love both of them to this day.
Warzone then attitude later were two of my first wrestling games alongside wcw thunder... compared to thunder they were fkin incredible 😂 I still remember waiting for Christmas day the year attitude came out wasnt far off December if I remember right
Those were good games once you get used to the controls, attitude had so many match options and arena customization which was the only wrestling game to have that at the time
@@wolfpacindahouse1 they all have their charm. It's more of them not being bad for their time but kinda bad now because not all of them hold up the best. WCW vs the world, BAD? Uhhh, actually it’s one of the greatest wrestling games of all time and Wrestlemania the Arcade game, WWF In your house, and WWF War Zone were so much fun as a kid!
I remember having WCW/nWo Thunder, and tons of PS1 Demo discs from Interactive CD Sampler, the two Jampack Volumes, and others from PlayStation Underground Jampack when I was 7 years old, and we were living in a silver bus, converted into a mobile home. WCW Vs The World, WWF War Zone, and WWF Attitude weren't considered bad games at the time of release. WCW Vs The World was a localized version of Virtual Pro Wrestling. All the non WCW wrestlers are real-life wrestlers. You can find a Pancrase version of Ken Shamrock, Sabu, Andre the Giant, and Terry Funk, among many others in the game. I used to love playing as Stan Hansen and clotheslining everyone. War Zone and Attitude were reviewed well at the time. Granted, there were better 3d wrestling games in Japan at the time. Yukes had the Toukon Retsuden series in Japan. The first game was localized here as Power Move Pro Wrestling. However, the wrestlers were edited to be fictional wrestlers. TR used a better engine than the Smackdown series. For whatever reason, Yukes decided to use the engine they created for a budget wrestling title, Simple Series 1500 vol 22 The Pro Wrestling, instead of the TR engine.
I would agree. I never did play WCW Vs the world but never heard much about it. Nowadays compared to later releases I would consider them bad and most don't have as nice of things to say about them. Fair point. The control schemes were bad. Some were pretty basic. I would say each one was fun in their own way. I think the term bad or good is obviously subjective but also changes with time and the release of better things.

I played the shit out of all the wrestling games in the 90s, from super Nintendo, n64 and ps. There really wasn't a bad one for the time until no mercy and smackdown came out. Those titles are in their own league. The old games can't compete. Lol I have tons of memories and reason why I can't say they are complete shit. Were they great, no, but sure were fun at the time. Just like aew in it's lack luster state gameplay wise is better then any of the 2k games.
I think 2k19 is pretty solid but 2k22 and 2k23 are not my favorite. I don't like the control scheme as much. Agree with everything you said about the old games.
I think I played something similar on the SNES but it's hard to remember. I know I never played the PS1 version. I played In Your House for sure though.
The comment section is proof that nostalgia sells because these games are awful. Not saying I didn't play these games as a kid and enjoy them too, but playing these games today compared to modern controls and graphics, there's no point going back to them other than to feel good about the past. These games are whack though.
For sure. It's not the worst. It's kinda bad when you place it next to the good I think. But it's playable. I do remember loving the look and the roster. The gameplay is ok. I hate the stances though lol
It plays decent animation is awful and some of the wrestlers look good while some aren’t close, I’d rather play vs the world but mayhem is way better than nitro or thunder

WCW Mayhem is the worst thing ever. EA should never touch a wrestling game again
There are definitely much worse wrestling games than Mayhem. Check out its sequel for an example.
Even though I said what I said,I enjoyed the video 👍
I loved wcw thunder/nitro no other game can you make the charecters do the ymca
I'm kind of shock you never play wrestle mania arcade.
Yeah it's true lol. I still love them but I'm a sucker for nostalgia. Some really aren't that bad for the time.
Hardcore Revolution is not that bad tho.
It was ok. Anarchy Rulz was baaad lol
WCW Mayhem was actually decent.
Yeah it wasn't that bad. Better than Thunder for sure
@@M3Wrestling Agreed. Nice video!
@@painfan476 Thanks!
Great video
Thanks!
I had WCW Vs The World.
Mayhem isn’t exactly bad, it’s more subjective in terms of quality. It was near the end of the PS1’s life cycle so, it’s a product of it’s time tbh
For sure. It's not the worst. It's kinda bad when you place it next to the good I think. But it's playable. I do remember loving the look and the roster. The gameplay is ok. I hate the stances though lol
It plays decent animation is awful and some of the wrestlers look good while some aren’t close, I’d rather play vs the world but mayhem is way better than nitro or thunder
well, its weird, but I like wwf wrestlemania the arcade game, I played with my cousin
WCW vs The World and WrestleMania the Arcade game r classics
I liked ecw games for the ps1 lol
WCW VS THE WORLD WAS 🔥🔥🔥
I'm about to release another video in a day or so about that one. I'll let you know right now i don't agree lol. I think it's good for its time but not so much anymore.
@@M3Wrestling lol yeah but thats my point WAS good, bt id stil play it today for that reason. It WAS a good game, its almost as old as me 🤣 some games (as you found out) were just trash from the start 🤦🏾♂️
Looking forward to more vids 👌🏾
To me the only good ps1 wrestling game is wcw vs the world but the other games that came after this game were kinda bad games to be honest i know that smackdown games r good but im saying the ps1 wrestling games that came out in the 90s
After playing it for the first time here I do like it. It's not good if you think about their later titles but has a solid foundation. I also have a soft spot for Warzone and Attitude because I played them as a kid.
WCW vs the world was not a bad wrestling game. To be honest at the time it was head and shoulders better than the rest.
You missed WCW Backstage Assault
Yeah I'll play it separately soon. I haven't played it before. I skipped it growing up after I had Mayhem. I'll play it for the first time in a video soon and share it 😂 it's probably gonna be painful from what I gather
Wrestlemania the Arcade game is fun
Warzone was my life 😊
Same bro. Same
WCW vs the World was NOT a bad wrestling game
WWF WrestleMania the arcade game and WCW vs The World are not bad ps1 games. If you grew up playing these when they were released you would know.
Well I grew up playing warzone and world tour. The only one I hadn't played was Vs the world. Compared to what came after, they wouldn't and aren't considered good anymore. Time hasn't been good to most. warzone isn't considered good anymore but I love it. Plus I didn't say bad games. I said bad wrestling games. Either way it doesn't mean I can't enjoy them.
Wcw vs the world, wrestlemania arcade , war zone , wwf attitude are great games imo.
Wwf in your house was decent .wasn’t bad
I know warzone and attitude are technically considered "bad" but will always love them. I still go back and play warzone more than the rest 😂
I really wish WWF in Your House was made by Midway instead of Akklaim. It would have been a fantastic game if Midway handled it.
@@ColorsBright since they went the fighting game route it definitely should have been a midway game
No backstage assault? By far the worst
Yeah I missed it but I'm going to make a separate video on that one soon
Warzone is boss.
Pretty sure WWF Attitude and WrestleMania: The Arcade Game are considered good games.
