Kathy what would us newbies do without your down-to-earth explanations of all things pouring!!!! I get brain fog as soon as percentages and ratios are mentioned. So to hear you and watch you demo these things is a gift from above!!! Phil is a godsend too and always asks the right questions at the right moment. Absolutely enjoy you both. Many many thanks for pulling back the curtains and letting us in! xxx
Kathy, Thanks a million for this video! Showing the consistency of the tube paint/pigment--how it disappears quickly--is such a HUGE help for me! Consistency doesn’t come naturally for me since I am new to painting pouring. (Long Covid-brain fog slowed down my learning curve!)
KathK YOUy, I have broken the old saying "You Can't Teach An Old Dog New Tricks" Im 72, and you are this most amazing teacher I have come across for painting! THANK YOU THANK THANK YOU. You are truly a blessing!
Thank you for sharing. I use Sherwin Williams Infinity instead of the Behr. The best thing I started using is a battery operated drink stirrer. Game changing.
Kathleen, thank you SO VERY MUCH for sharing this recipe! I was pulling my hair out trying so many other recipes and they didn’t help my bank account either! When I saw your video with the recipe, I went right out to Home Depot and got the Behr 8300! I went straight home and started mixing paint cause my daughter was coming over so we could do some acrylic pouring! We were SO HAPPY with our paintings!!! They were the best we’ve ever done!!! Thank you again for sharing! This has made us so happy!!!
I love the Behr 8300. The colors don't lighten when your mixing. They remain vivid, more true to color, and so many varnishes work with it. I love the Varathane triple thick with Behr, then add Jo Sonja or Minwax polycystic to thin it. It is so much fun! Also, US floetrol with a few drops of Minwax pre-stain wood conditioner creates beautiful cells.
Kathleen you are the best. This painting is out off this world, totally amazing. I can not wait to try this. Thank you for the way you explain this with so much patience.
Thank you, thank you, thank yoooooooou. Hello my beautiful teacher you always breakdown things so simple rather than going into %, loss etc. Your explanation is just down to earth and simple. Thank you again very much. Thank you also Phil for the posting of each project. You both are my world and I love you both.👍👍👍👍👍👍.
Kathy/Phil sorry for the confusion. I said "you always breakdown things so simple rather than going into %, ozs, etc" when I sent it I noticed the word (loss) instead of ozs so I tried to make the correction but I guessed I confused you. Hope my explanation clears up the confusion.
Thank you for sharing all your recipes! To make it simple, I just remember that 4 Tablespoons equals 1/4 Cup Jo Sonja: 4 TBSP = 1/4 Cup = 60 ML = 2 oz Behr: 1 Cup = 240 ML = 8 oz So it is 4 parts Behr to 1 part Jo Sonja When I didn't have Jo Sonja, I substituted with Minwax Polycrylic and it worked almost the same, but I had to use 3 parts Behr to 1 part Polycrylic.
Hello, thank you very much a wonderful team with the instructions. I have not done any painting yet!! For sure I will be following your instructions and techniques. Thank You
Kathy, thank you so much for sharing this with me. I really wanted to try your process but I could not afford your ingredients. This really gives me hope! You are wonderful I appreciate you and Philip so much.❤❤❤
I had been using this (my aussie cousin) recipe for a year or so. Then I saw your beautiful creations and tried your recipes. However I went back because it's easier to get products from work...(the depot). Im so happy you found this recipe. Your creations will be even more stunning.
Thank you ! This is so helpful. Now I will experiment with your experiment, I will let you know how it goes. The JoSonja varnish can be difficult to get in my area, 🇨🇦 and is very expensive. I will research perhaps Minwax high gloss no tint varnish will work. Thank you so much Kathy.
Thank you so much hun. This pouring medium is fantastic!! I've tried at least 10 different pouring mediums and this is the BEST!!!! My colors are so much more vibrant now. I'm in love. Your videos are all great
Kathy, you are a wonderful instructor and a beautiful artist. I appreciate very much the time you take in explaining and simplifying these formulas and techniques. Watching you gives me such hope and inspiration that I, too, might create something beautiful - that I, too, might say, "This is so pretty!" Unfortunately, I have not achieved that yet. But I did, finally, get cells following and using all your formulas exactly!! Thank you! However, I am still frustrated because all my cells just disappear! They seem to just dissolve. I'm so hoping you might know what could be causing this and have some possible solutions I could try to remedy this disappointing and frustrating issue. Again, thank you so much. (My husband who often watches your videos with me, helps me mix and encourages me not to give up, said, "Ask Kathy!")
Kathy and Phil, You guys are great. I wrote everything down since im a newbie but dont for the life of me recall you saying what this consistent paint recipe is used for? Thanks for the new PM recipe. These colors are beautiful. Colors look more vibrant..need to do a test run with both PM's and same paint colors and compare the 2 side by side.
I love watching your techniques. I've been experimenting with Tri-Art liquid glass. I use it like you use Jo Sonja, and I've discovered that it makes my paintings shine, similar to epoxy coat, but much cheaper and you don't need to do multiple coats.
