An angel was watching over your driver. Thank the lord he walked away. As a 20 year veteran of the steering wheel, that’s one of my biggest fears. I pray his recovery was quick. Bless.
I had a super single steer blow on a boom truck 20 years ago. It ripped the fender and headlight clean off. Luckily, I was only going 50 mph, milking the clock on a short day. I was going around a curve , the tire blew. I bear hugged the wheel, and got it stopped. Was a " cowboy" moment for sure !

I am blessed with the verbal and non verbal communications you share. I feel you are a brother and a man of integrity. Not a driver, but drove pls and other heavy vehicles in the Army. Must say how much I appreciate what you truckers do for a living. I love that he says he prays for his driver's daily, have a feeling the Lord is going to bless you for the loss of your truck.
A tip to any driver that has this happen to you, that doesn't already know the protocol. Your first instinct will be to hit the brakes. This is the opposite of what to do with a blown steer tire. If your in the fuel when it blows gently modulate the throttle down till you get over to the shoulder and coast to a stop. If your not in the throttle get into it immediately and then feather it to the shoulder and then slowly coast to a stop. This will keep your front axel steerable. If you hit the brakes the tractor will immediately drop on the blown tire side and rip the steering wheel from your hands and pull the truck into the ground. I know it sounds counter intuitive but with a solid front axel on these trucks you can coast to a stop without losing control or even damaging the rim of the wheel by using the torque of the motor to keep the axel off the blown tire
You are tatally right but unfortunately first intution most always kicks in instead of defensive driving learning and this more often than not is the end result. Lets instead of criticizing THANK GOD he wasnt killed and lived to go home to his family

Thank GOD he's ok ... I drive a triaxle dump truck for a living and know the many dangers of tires blowing out and other truck and cars on a daily basis
Hey Flint, glad your driver is doing okay. Did you know that there are older trucks out there for sale, just like the one got demolished? look up in UA-cam and type in something like hunt for an semi truck (and if you have to, add "old" in it) or look up in Facebook Marketplace and type in what you are looking for
Likin' that enclosed hilo behind ya. Sadly no one cares enough about the equipment where I work so our enclosed hilo looks like it was thrown off a cliff, most of the windows are stupid thin bolted on plexiglass now
What kind of tire tread was on the truck? Were they manufactured from scratch or were they retreads? I'm just trying to imagine what kind of tire that was before it failed. It could happen to any kind of tire but so difficult to picture it properly.
Good deal that the driver is OK. I'm originally from Geneva, and am a long time Heavy Haul/Oversize driver. Thankfully, in all my years I've never had a chargeable accident, traffic ticket or DOT violation, and yes, luck does play a part in that equation. I've always run daycab 4 axle tractors with 20,000-22,000lb front ends with the big 425/60R22.5 tires you had on your T800, and it was always a concern what could happen if one steer tire failed, and judging by this video, it's not pretty. Hope you do some due diligence to see why the tire failed, I've never seen the tread peel off one before, those big floats are usually rock solid as long as you maintain good pressure and balance, the tread looked uniform on the tire, so I'd love to know the cause of the failure. Good luck, and glad the driver is OK.
When there’s a blowout the deflated tire takes over not driver . It’s happened to me with sharp edge crusher rock . Will slice a tire RIGHT NOW n there u go , guardian angle was working overtime !
Thank God he's ok accidents do happen but I'm still gonna come drive for you guys keep a cat open for me I dont want off days lol I want to keep on rolling.👍💯💯💯
Thank God the driver survived and he was in a huckbolted Kenworth. If that had been a glued, fiberglass rig, he wouldn't survive. People don't understand that machines will have trouble whether new or old. The bigger the machine, the more damage it does. Don't always blame the driver; there's plenty of other factors.

We got it replaced .... check out the peterbilt dump truck video
Glad to hear nobody got serious hurt
I was driving a Coronado and the steering went out. I ended up in the median upside down. I had to be cut out but I didnt get hurt. So now Im not eligible for rehire.
Wow, the Good Lord was with him for-sure...that's why you should try, not to leave home especially in the morning mad or angry with your family members in your home...because you never know what might happen to you in that day...Peace People .
For sure !!!!
Amazing that your driver survived! He needs to buy a lottery ticket or three, very lucky man! 🙏Thanks for the video and your open and honest commentary! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all from Australia🇦🇺 I am now going to subscribe, keep up the great work mate!👍😎
Thankyou !!!
Thank GOD he's ok ... I drive a triaxle dump truck for a living and know the many dangers of tires blowing out and other truck and cars on a daily basis
For sure !!!
I hope the driver is ok ! Be gentle on the driver bossman, and I hope to see a new 389 or w900 dump added to the fleet 😎
Always !! It wasn’t his fault !!! Maybe a t800
My question is that the bridge is damaged at all . How did the dump bed get completely off the truck
Bridge wasn’t damaged and it ripped it right off
Thank God the driver is alive .
Hey Flint, glad your driver is doing okay.
Did you know that there are older trucks out there for sale, just like the one got demolished? look up in UA-cam and type in something like hunt for an semi truck (and if you have to, add "old" in it) or look up in Facebook Marketplace and type in what you are looking for
yes, im keeping my eyes open
man your driver was so lucky to be alive ,the lord save that man that day
these types of kenworth very costly in jamaica but glad the driver don't get eney bad hurt
Likin' that enclosed hilo behind ya. Sadly no one cares enough about the equipment where I work so our enclosed hilo looks like it was thrown off a cliff, most of the windows are stupid thin bolted on plexiglass now
hello greetings from Mexico very good day excellent
Imagine if it were loaded... may not have come out as well as it did. Thank the man above.
Thought and prayers, yup trucks are replaceable people are not.
Thank God he's alright. Never had a blowout but I hear they are insane.
What kind of tire tread was on the truck? Were they manufactured from scratch or were they retreads? I'm just trying to imagine what kind of tire that was before it failed. It could happen to any kind of tire but so difficult to picture it properly.
Continental
We will try !!
When there’s a blowout the deflated tire takes over not driver . It’s happened to me with sharp edge crusher rock . Will slice a tire RIGHT NOW n there u go , guardian angle was working overtime !
Glad your guy is okay!
Thank God he's ok accidents do happen but I'm still gonna come drive for you guys keep a cat open for me I dont want off days lol I want to keep on rolling.👍💯💯💯
😜👍🏽👌🏽💪🏽
Thank God the driver survived and he was in a huckbolted Kenworth. If that had been a glued, fiberglass rig, he wouldn't survive. People don't understand that machines will have trouble whether new or old. The bigger the machine, the more damage it does. Don't always blame the driver; there's plenty of other factors.
Hope your driver is doing good god bless you all
Thankyou !!
Big bill on the guard rails and bridge inspection. Truck is totaled with trailer
