About Adventures Made From Scratch: I’m just a regular guy who likes to find adventure in day to day life. We may not be able to go travel the world, but there are plenty of opportunities at our door step. I do a mix of vintage car stuff, scrapyard stuff, nature hiking, and who knows what else?!? Come with me as I take you along for a ride in my world!

I really enjoy your content. My dad was a trucker all his life. He hauled cars, new Ford as a matter of fact. As a kid I saw most of those late fifties, sixties and into the seventies models before the public saw them. He let my brother drive a new '65 Mustang around their yard just a little before they were seen by the public. I spent a lot of time under the hood of some of those fifties and sixties cars and trucks myself. Thanks for the memories!
I'd love to have that van! I'm homeless now and a van everyone says is trash would be a life changing step for me
I enjoy running around and going thru junk in old cars. The white van was fun. Nice to see old trucks!
54 chev. Never. Seen. E brake. Pedal. Before.
do you work there?
You have really piled up the subs in the last couple of months.
Congrats to that, you have tried hard to give us good content & it has paid off.👍
Another good one! I Wish when I was younger Ida Got in the scrapping business! Its not the same thing all the time its an Adventure every day! Peace Bro!
Now this is more my style of AMFS!
My brother had a yellow 2 Dr Chevette. My sister had a maroon 4 Dr Chevette. My 1st car was a 1969 Barracuda Fastback. About 3 yrs ago I go a 1967 Barracuda Fastback. Really fun car.
Excellent adventure chef silas lol 😊
Awesome video Silas
Great vid sir hopefully someone grabs that Chevette. It pretty nice shape!!
Very enjoyable video Silas! Thanks!
ya good idea will it start on that pick up you put in the garage great video
Silas, watching you work and organize your property. Definitely takes a lot of work and planning .
I loved the 54 model, that's the same year as me. Some great trucks there.
You get some cool stuff!! Maybe I need to move to, umm where are you,, Kansas? You make it look like they just bring you this cool old stuff! I enjoy your "Adventures Made From Scratch? posts.
Chevette the Yugo of the American car industry!
Yes do a treasure hunt
Thanks for sharing
tip: use the cam as a bodycam attached to a harness on your body!
Those putters in the van might be worth something, esp. if the blade one is a Ping.
Nice finds
I knew this was going to be a great video just by seeing the title!! Really cool trucks Silas!! Thanks again 👍
That tractor is a Minneapolis Moline UTS and is probably a 1946 by looking at the grill and engine. That's the only year that MM used the single block and head which is called the KEF engine with that grill. I have a MM UTU that's the same way. Sad to say it's just to far for me to try to get that one. Looks to be complete. Like you say can't save them all, and that's very true. You're in a business to make money not lose it. I enjoyed watching both your channels, keep up the good work.👍
Now this is my kind of junk
My Daddy had a old red pickup during the 70s just like the one have! He used to haul hay bales in it on his second job! Great video and thanks for reviving good ol memories of my Daddy! 😊❤ Cheers to you Silas!
Matt Murphy might be interested in the Essex.
I learned to drive in a 1950 International PU. 3 on the tree. It had a push-button start. The seat was completely eaten away, but we threw a quilt over it. The truck was in perfect condition. I sure do wish we'd kept it. I had to learn how to drive an automatic later on. I did that in a 1964 Ford Ranchero. We had some pretty cool cars growing up. ❤
Great video to relax to. 👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏🙏
That was a fun little video 😅
You bought some nice Old Trucks - white Van filled with Treasures - not much - some useful Tools etc ! Some Snow is still left - still looks Cold - You are a very Busy Man ! Yes - that 1954 Chevy is sooooo Cool indeed - love the Vintage and Antique Trucks and Cars ! Ah - yes - Barn Finds are very Cool ! It was a very Interesting Video ! Many Cheers from Australia !!!!
Yes the van is cool Peace out
Scoring the old Chevy PU at 15:40 in a swap with the Chevy Square Body was a great move Silas. 👍 She's a beauty.
Nice
You should keep the wheel weights that are on the tractor. you could get $100 each for them. I know it is a lot of work and they are heavy
Placemats probably garden flags
I like your videos from driving the tractor around picking up old cars digging in old cars good stuff thanks
After a stressful day your videos are just relaxing and therapeutic ... would be boring to most people but to an old car nut ... 😃 But around 22:00 is that radiator hose actually "repaired" with duct tape?!? 🤫
They tried.
I know you tossed the sewing stuff and I can't get with you in time, but I need to restock my sewing room.
I just love 1940s trucks just wish we had them over here in the UK
Get that old Chevy running, show us how good you are
We have a 26 Essex for yard art as well - It is complete and I did replace all the wood with tubing so kids can play in it and pretend they're driving.
Nice 54, my grandfather had one of those on the family ranch until at least 1963 as i remember it.👍👍
I drove a lot of that vintage Ford utility vans. They all had 300 sixes, and I never had a speck of engine trouble, The clutches were another story, since the company always seemed to buy service trucks that were not suited for the loads they had to carry.
Yes Sir!!!
The Essex at 6 minutes and 45 seconds here's a perfect build for that 🚨🚨🚨. Make it into a depression error / world War II gas rationing error pickup conversion rat rod. Use a cheaper radiator / Grill assembly from a Chevy or Plymouth vs Ford. I've seen an Essex someplace and I did not want much for it. Build the doors from scratcher out of something from another type of vehicle. Headlights maybe off one of them 41 or so Chevys. In that way you pretty much got the rat rod piece together
The Chevy bumper sounded like solid steel! Happy days!
Funny seeing a 5 th wheel reciever in the back of that '54! I know of a '46 GMC pickup (I think (maybe a '41)), that really does tow a 5th wheel trailer! Inline 6 GMC powered too! Guy belongs to Inliners Northwest car club! That '54 Chevy really is a neat barn-find!
I do believe the advance design rigs, forty nine through fifty four were nicer when fixed up and the odds for finding good ones are going down as those square body rigs are well so dang many of them still floating about. I did own a lot of them but hey, too much to make a nice comfortable ride out of. Even so tho, millions of people just wanting something
The Essex is a good base for a rat rod as it’s too far gone for restoration. Sometimes with the time and skill will build that. Excellent video and continued success to you
Cool thanks 👍
Stayin tuned! 👍🤠
😊
Great show keep up the amazing work be safe my friends God bless all sweet golden goodness in one place oh my
That van was probably owned by someone who went to flea markets !! Loaded up the van and tried to sell all that crap at the market ! Broke down and just left it ! Smart move !
Thank you. Silas really enjoyed the video.

That 54 Chevy truck has a 4 speed. First gear is a granny gear. I had the exact same truck years ago. Bed had been fitted with a steel deck plate.
Just Put a Basket Ball inside the fender well n space it with wood n than Air up Ball to push out Dents 😅
According to the specs for a 54 3600 it is a 235 with 4 speed trans. Good score 😊
one time I found a golf club at the beach at a ferry terminal
Great video
That old pick up looks like the Sanford and son truck.
cool!
I'd love to have one of them big trucks and make a tiny home from it!
The 54 Chevy truck is great would love it here in 🇬🇧.
Silas: You make the BEST mud pies!!

Some golf clubs are made from beryllium 36:10 and worth money
I'd love to have that van! I'm facing eviction and need a place to stay
January... Was that the Chevette you eventually crushed?
That's stuff good for goodwill

Who the heck would want that Chevette? They were lousy cars when they were new.
Id love to own it I had 2 of them and a Pontiac 1000 and I Loved them car's and they would be awesome to throw a Turbo Diesel engine in 4-cylinder or 6 be pretty cool and fun being REAR wheel drive Cars
Rough ridin and ugly but they were extremely good values.
Hey just found out my parts runner 93 geo metro is collectable go figure 😊
@@dave-uf8ir
Un frikkin real! 👍😉
😊
Hey Silas, maybe you can answer a question I have. On my 55 Dodge stake truck shouldn't the driveshaft's carrier bearing be mounted directly to the steel crossmember ? My has some kind of rubber isolators between the two and I'm getting a funny vibration. Cheers buddy ... Paul 👊😎👍
Oh my so much that you call trash i could make dang good money on but i have more time to mess with it and sort it and list it on line
i call that stuff flea market dollars
The things you find when you’re cleaning out a free candy van

Do You have are Chrom Grill from are 1993 GMC Vandura? Without Damage?
What is the asking price for the Chevy pickup 1946 model. Donavon.
Hi
Interested in what are you going to ask on the Essex, as there are multiple ways to go with what you have?
It is sold
That old Chevette brings back memories, I owned the UK version of that car built and sold by Vauxhall UK, it was good if somewhat unexciting car.
I've always wanted a Chevette. But a Right hand drive version would be ultimate! I built a RHD Honda Del Sol with a Trans top!
@@user-hv3gj5we5j You don't see many any more, but at one time they were everywhere, you need to search for them under the Vauxhall brand, that was the UK GM branch.
Those van seats are uncomfortable as hell I used to have one
Send me that barn find
Hey where do u post items for sale? How can I connect with the parts and vehicles you are selling?
