Coming from the rust filled state of MN, it was hard to see some of the old stuff getting ready to scrap. The square bodies and old Mustang or 4Runner are worth a bunch of money. Shipping is always the hardest part. Hang on to those old square bodies and dent side Ford trucks and you will be making money!
That's part of my problem when I watch these. Scrapping in general is rather stupid to do financially. I can only justify it if the product is complete worn out and has no reason to fix it. Those vehicles hold more value in running or parts. You make a few hundred off Scrapping the whole vehicle. I as well am from Minnesota. I live in Florida now. I like doing project cars and it hurts seeing older vehicle getting crushed. It hurts because I know they're easy to fix and worth a few grand when running. Crushing them for a few hundred is the lazy option.... well most Americans are extremely lazy, so this market booming is of no surprise to me. I don't see it changing even if we got a giant abundance of people willing to put the effort in. You try to buy it from these people and they want a few grand for them. You offer a few hundred over scrap value and they deny it, so they scrap it and make less money. Wrap your head around that and you will understand the mentality of these people. Probably because Scrapping dosen't require a diploma.
21:48 that Chevy is has sick patina! I would love to restore that truck! Can’t wait for when you get around to those buses and all of the semi trailers!
Hi there Mr Silas. I am here in England looking around your car stacks. Thank you very much for naming the US trucks and cars for us. What an enjoyable way to spend the day.
Hello Silas. I have a favor to ask, but first I want to tell you how much I enjoy your videos. I've been subscribed for a long time - have watched them all. I'm an old timer (82+), and have owned several cars throughout my life; beginnging with a Model A Ford coupe with a ruble seat, a '51 Pontiac, a couple of Oldsmobiles to mention a few. My all time favorite was a 1956 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan with the 292 Thunderbird engine. And now for the favor - the next time you run across a '55 or '56 Ford take a minute to get it in the picture. I know this won't be easy for you to do if there's an old dodge truck nearby ;). In closing, I hope you have a wonderful day - go make an adventure.
At 8:38 I believe that to be a 1955 Chevy hood ornament. That front grill and what have you is very valuable from the looks of it on the video for the pickup 🛻
You have a couple of interesting vehicles in that pile. Like the early 80’s 5 speed Chevy citation 2 door. A quite complete and intact first generation Dodge intrepid. Lots of decent pickup boxes and tail gates. Cars which were total squishers a couple of years ago which now are becoming more collectible. Like the early ford panther platform 2 doors.
When I was younger I always wanted to do heavy duty mechanics and drive big machines, and work where u work.but became a plumber now being semi retired I would like to work in a scrap yard,in my area there is 4 I think alot for a small island.
I see you're definitely a dreamer. I love the way you say, somebody's going to want that for sure. And it's been sitting there for so long it has trees growing through it. Keep on dreaming bro. We don't have anything without our dreams.
When I say someone will want that, I mean someone will want the front 12” or so. It is doubtful that any of those vehicles would sell whole. When I put them there, they were worthless. I wasn’t saving them in the hopes and dreams that someone would buy them. They were just stacked to wait for the crusher.
Walking through Silas's Inventory - wow - lots of Cars/Trucks and a few still for Parts - Noses etc - hey - that was Fun ! Elm Trees are Shockers - wow - growing inside a Car ! I would have Poisoned them Long Time ago ! Too Many for me to count - maybe 152 ?! Many Cheers from Australia !!!!
There's some good cars in the pile, only because you kept them so long they became valuable! Thanks Silas, oh i've slipped of a hood in the rain, 2 cars up in a junkyard and luckily only got a bruised butt - it hurt though!!
You need to get you one of them forestry Mulcher attachments for either your Bobcat or your excavator that'll make short work of those trees and if you do a it right they won't come back
21:30 Yes, the White car is a mid 80s Chrysler Laser. At first glance, the big difference is the rear spoiler. The Laser has a gap underneath, where the Daytona was a solid molding formed to fit snug. The next generation of Lasers became Plymouth cars with a Mitsubishi body style. I had a 1986 Laser and it was a wicked ride. It was fast and handled great in the curves at high speeds. Not recommended for snowy conditions, though. 2" of snow was enough to render the car useless.
The Chevy citation is extremely rare and at 6:17 you can see the tail lights of a pontiac 6000 or a grand prix if its a 6000 ste its rarer and is worth a ton if awd
Hi Silas! That baby school bus - you ought to make a cool play house outdoors for your kids! Also would make a cool home school area for a family during the cooler months! Hello from Illinois!
Like this idea, wall art dash board from old cars & trucks you cut the nose off, just cut out the dash ,to sell some people restore them, with light & cool paint
So many cool cars, I think you have some good investments. Looking forward to you pulling them out, saving what’s worth it and then watching them get the squeeze. So close to 100k subscribers. Happy for your success. Peace
SIlas, please tell me you wouldn't crush a 1964-65 Ford Mustang! I can't wait to see the old buses and trailers go. Those antiques in the first bus should go to Texas to the auction and be rid of them, then laugh all the way to the bank. Can't wait for the next edition!
Gosh I don't know how I missed this video! Guess I was busy with Christmas. Great trip down memory lane. A lot of good parts but hard to find good buyers for them. Stay safe and GOD bless
Some neat stuff in the pile! I'm not a Ford fan in general, but I have a soft spot for those 73-79 Supercab Ford 4x4s. That fire truck is awesome! That would be an awesome advertisement for your business!
Looks like you won’t run out of stuff to do anytime soon.. Amazing number of square body trucks but even here in Denver they weren’t worth much for a long time. They are hot now though here. I got my 73 C30 from a neighbor for $2500 and it’s worth more than that now. It’s my daily even though I’m retired and don’t drive anywhere everyday anymore
Silas my friend how you doing? I just wanted to wish you and your family a happy holidays cuz you do so much for us. I appreciate your videos and your knowledge and just hanging out with you. Maybe you can do a few videos from your other channel where you go into that area and snoop and search and do whatever you do? I always enjoy those. I think your wife got the better end of the deal You're really cool dude and a kick to hang out with so thank you for your time. Peace from Oregon
11:20 that 1950 Chevrolet would part out on ebay for $4,000 -$5,000. I did a 53 and a 51 and every useable part sold between ebay and craigslist and they were both rusted all to hell. this was 15 years ago and the prices have gone way up since then
Few good cars in the pile..but hey people can't believe what I send to pick n pull..when all properties are full you gotta send them away...TOW LIFE..😂
Gosh Silas I often worry about you running out of content, my worry is unfounded. I'm lookin forward to seeing the contents of those buses and what may be found in some of the cars someday, if I live long enough. 😉👍 I'm also missing actual speed crushing with actual sound. Maybe make a crushing compilation ASMR video.
Silas you be careful ! Your family needs you ! Guess I must be old cause I find it funny when you say stuff is old that seems newer to me. Like that modern Grand Am GT, I remember when the Grand Am came out and was on pedestals at the Dealerships in 1973. That was the year I got my driver's license ! Got my first car. A used 67 Mustang GT. Black, 390 4spd. Worth a lot today. My mom payed a guy to tow it away when I was away in college ! 😡
Back in the mid 70s we used to stack cars 5 high; the piles were actually rather more stable than the casual observer (or inspector) would appreciate. Memories of removing a gearbox from the top one.
Wish I had more room I'd love to buy something from Silas so many old trucks you can't find here or when you do it's thousands for a complete rusted junker
I heard years ago about someone crawling under fire truck and discovered the water tanks were brass and worth a chunk of change. Better peek under that lafrance while you are pulling motor.
If Americans think shipping is a factor in buying a project ,think about us in Australia and New Zealand where it costs thousands to ship . you have no idea how lucky you are 😅
I really would love to visit your ranch scrap yard when taxes get here maybe I could find a project car from you you I've seen a lot of vehicles at there I even saw bunch cars in decant shape in this crush pile I would buy
I was born and raised un kansas left 37 years ago but have lots of family all over kansas they say them square body's are impossible to find with no rust .and the good ones bring big dollars
If Silas did go through this pile, he should rearrange it by whether he's saving it or crushing it. Even if he doesn't get to crush through the pile right away, that way he'll know which ones he's saving and which ones he wants to keep, for whatever reason. Silas should probably also rearrange it and get it set up so it's easier for him to access the cars in the pile. Right now it's just a bunch of cars with no way to get to any that are buried deep in it. Get what needs to be done to arrange it so it's a whole lot easier to rummage through.
If that grill on the C1 at the 10 minute mark is a 83 or 84 single headlight grill and not broken they’re hard to find and the aftermarket ones don’t have the spot to put the Chevy emblem . The trim around the back of the cabs in good shape a sought after too . Sure wish I were closer, I’d Some rust free C10 parts .
How many cars do you think are in this pile?
109.
178
You showed a 78 or 79 ford truck, is it a 150 or 250??
89 cars
1090
I'll give you $2300 for that blue AMC eagle station wagon that's my dream car my first one got burnt in a fire and I miss it
Whoa! I would love to see videos of what’s in those old school buses. Looks like some really cool
old stuff!
I second that I would like to see what is in the buses.
As a Scandinavian who loves old American cars, I would rather just explore that place for a day than go to Disneyland 😍
Such a treasure-trove!!!!
As a Brit I'd love to do the same !
Hood ornament is from a 56 chevy car... i have one just like it in my garage right now off my 56 chev wagon
Coming from the rust filled state of MN, it was hard to see some of the old stuff getting ready to scrap. The square bodies and old Mustang or 4Runner are worth a bunch of money. Need the youoivlup
Way to many forget or don't know EXPLODING SQUARE BODY gM built rust outs where dangerous
@@bradzimmerman3171 So rebuild it and throw in a fuel cell, ditch the old tanks.
That's part of my problem when I watch these.
Scrapping in general is rather stupid to do financially.

Very Cool!
I've been with you these last two years and I'm so glad to see your sub numbers going where they should be.
Hi there Mr Silas. I am here in England looking around your car stacks. Thank you very much for naming the US trucks and cars for us. What an enjoyable way to spend the day.
Definitely do the hidden treasures in the buses!!!
I just cant wait for the "Whats in the bus series"!
But finish your "Whats in the trailer series" First!😊

those datsun Z cars are worth saving very much. I'd love the manual locking hubs off that 4runner
Thats the best adventure, amazing what you can find, or re find, thumbs up, great video

Love to see whats in the Bus's, When they are Dug out, We need a Video
That Fox Body Mustang is what all the drag racers are searching for these days.
The fox bodies are very popular.
@SteviPantyhose-mt5lm Yes, yes they are. If you have one in decent shape, you can sell for decent money. Foxbodies are a sought after chassis.
I had a citation 2.5 4 cyl with a stick. Only if I wasn't in NY I would be shopping at your place all the time.
I absolutely love your U-Tube you are so knowledgeable and you explain things so well, thank you!

Wish I was closer, hard to find unrusted oldies here in Pa. If shipping wasn't so expensive ugh. Those Chevy's would sell big here! Have a good one.
You need to get you one of them forestry Mulcher attachments for either your Bobcat or your excavator that'll make short work of those trees and if you do a it right they won't come back

That was way cool. I can't wait for you to explore that bus!
that was cool up here in Ontario Canada must those cars would be rust melted away great video
I remember when there was only one truck in that yard. I've been on top of that pile several times pulling parts. Love that yard

Good Evening There My Good Big Bro Silas Of Adventures Made From Scratch
Like this idea, wall art dash board from old cars & trucks you cut the nose off, just cut out the dash ,to sell some people restore them, with light & cool paint
I’ve sold a few dash panels, but they don’t sell as well.
So many cool cars, I think you have some good investments. Looking forward to you pulling them out, saving what’s worth it and then watching them get the squeeze. So close to 100k subscribers. Happy for your success. Peace

Interesting video
SIlas, please tell me you wouldn't crush a 1964-65 Ford Mustang! I can't wait to see the old buses and trailers go. Those antiques in the first bus should go to Texas to the auction and be rid of them, then laugh all the way to the bank. Can't wait for the next edition!
he seems like the type that if he can't get what he's asking he'd just crush it for spite...I actually think he has even said that at some point
here in the uk its now near impossible to find a yard to reminisce in,sad days, i clambered 3 cars up in the 70 s to get a gearbox😢
Great video. Going to be interesting to see what you find buried in there. 👍👍👍
Would love the 90-96 Delco CD radios like out of those Buick LeSabre and Chevy Camaro you saw.

The camper guys will want that short bus
Looks like you won’t run out of stuff to do anytime soon.. Amazing number of square body trucks but even here in Denver they weren’t worth much for a long time. They are hot now though here. I got my 73 C30 from a neighbor for $2500 and it’s worth more than that now. It’s my daily even though I’m retired and don’t drive anywhere everyday anymore

5:01 looks like a Datsun 240Z or a 280Z it’s hard to tell from just the roof. But that front end reminds me of one of them.
11:20 that 1950 Chevrolet would part out on ebay for $4,000 -$5,000. I did a 53 and a 51 and every useable part sold between ebay and craigslist and they were both rusted all to hell. this was 15 years ago and the prices have gone way up since then
I have really enjoyed watching this episode Silas, it's content like this that got me subscribed in the first place.
Many thanks
David in the UK
There's a Fb group just for people that have those old Town Cars. Probably many takers for parts or the whole car.
Few good cars in the pile..but hey people can't believe what I send to pick n pull..when all properties are full you gotta send them away...TOW LIFE..😂
Thanks for the tour. I'd love to walk through and just look around.
Gosh Silas I often worry about you running out of content, my worry is unfounded. I'm lookin forward to seeing the contents of those buses and what may be found in some of the cars someday, if I live long enough.

Thanks for sharing and taking the time to put this video together! Looks like a lot of content for a great series.
SAVE THEM ALL!!!!!!!❤
Enjoyed this video...brought back a few good memories.
I heard years ago about someone crawling under fire truck and discovered the water tanks were brass and worth a chunk of change.
Better peek under that lafrance while you are pulling motor.
And the pump gear $$$$$$$$$$
If Americans think shipping is a factor in buying a project ,think about us in Australia and New Zealand where it costs thousands to ship . you have no idea how lucky you are 😅
Omg that’s a 4x4 short bed Chevy 😮
Good tour
That hood bird/jet is 55/56 Chevy item worth saving.
That first gen 4runner should be a saver

I was born and raised un kansas left 37 years ago but have lots of family all over kansas they say them square body's are impossible to find with no rust .and the good ones bring big dollars
they can't find them because he's either crushing them all for content or chopping them up for art...

Hello from rustbelt Ohio! Would a running square body!
