Is This Alxum Dock the ULTIMATE Switch Option?!?

The Alxum Switch Docking Station is one of the most impressive pieces of tech I've checked out yet for the switch. Today, I'm running it through it's paces as a potential replacement for the OEM dock, and checking out how it responds using four different games. I'll go over the good, the bad, and the not so great - but overall, this is a pretty excellent piece of kit.

Jay, I think the absolute best thing you said about this dock was the fact that it allows you to take something other than your license Nintendo dock with you when you're on a road trip. For $60 it might be a bit on the high end but at the same time you can hold the cartridges and switch them like with the last one but this includes the dock. I don't see a problem with it. Maybe it's not a solution that everyone needs, but it's convenient.

Now, I am not a huge fan of handheld gaming, but weirdly, I play the Switch almost exclusively handheld 🤷‍♂️ It looks like a solid enough option for those who play docked 😎👍

Unless it’s a dock with 36 slots, I’m perfectly capable of picking up a 3lb. device to change a 3oz. Postage-stamp sized cartridge. Definitely not for me.

I haven't played darksiders genesis yet but I really enjoy darksiders.
I am keeping an eye out for all four games on the switch.
Dread is probably one of my favorite games. I had to stop myself from plaything through again last year so I could play other stuff.
These multi cart switchers are a nice idea. With the release of the non dock version that swaps 8 carts I wonder if a dockable version with 8 carts is around the corner.

So I can use this as a dock for my Lite? PERFECT FOR TRAVEL!
Can I just not power the card swap part, and use just the dock part?
Your review makes me want to get one just to try it out for myself lol

It won't do video passthrough, the Lite just can't do that, but yup, you can charge the Lite that way.
