No matter what happened ASJ was at least the bigger man throughout the years, and even paid respect like a man after JDF passing.. JDF was my favorite ranger, and it's such a shame what happened, but he seemed to have a need to prove himself.. considering he wanted to fight MMA Professionally, how many times he talked angry about ASJ being a fake martial artist, and he's the real deal, also his drama with Van DAmme.. I would've respected him way more if he didn't speak on all this stuff, and get so riled up about it. Acted like a teenage girl in high school in dozens of interviews for years. Trying to get a fight. Like let it go dude.

At least, I can't find any other videos where JDF talks about ASJ in such a manner. JDF was mostly calm and humble. This rant of his is an anomaly. I've been subscribed to his UA-cam channel for at least six years. I rediscovered my old comments from five years ago on many of his uploads, like My Morphin' Life.
Bipedal, I'm sure ASJ is not a bad guy. He's a paramedic. That tells you right there what kind of person he is. He's probably saved lives. However, I wouldn't discount JDF's opinion of him, especially me because I'm a straight JDF fan. I don't care for ASJ or even Power Rangers. I have my opinions about Saban.

ASJ never said a word, only spoke kindly. Again JDF was my hero, my favorite.. my name is Tommy lol, I was obsessed with Kimberly... and more recently seeing how much he helped people in the real world, and how nice he was to his fans made me respect him so much..

It's clear ASJ was just as skilled in martial arts, if not more if you watch some of his highlights in those first seasons. It's clear JDF was jealous in ways, and wanted to prove he was always better.. and ASJ was the bigger man who didn't care.
Maybe those mental issues lead to the cause of his suicide, dealing with things he couldn't let go.. having insecurities issues, and everything with his wife was too much... maybe he did it out of rage, and didn't mean to go through with it... or she could have killed him, and framed it as suicide to get all his money lol I don't pretend to know, I wasn't there... same goes with their beef, just speculation from what we can find. Rest in POWER Green/White Ranger.

Red Comet sorry I didn't make my comment very clear. I only defended him on having 4 mma fights when you said one. But one thing i never understood and went on to criticize him on was claming he takes care of his fans but charges as much as he can for pictures and autographs.

ASJ was 17 and admits to gloating. However unlike Jason Frank it seems ASJ actually became a living superhero becoming a fireman paramedic, and eventually going to war zones becoming a combat medic.

Im a big Jason David F and Austin fan (Jason Gieger) I really dont get the husband wife analogy like whaaaat? ..I think this just straight rivalry because they were cast as such and it took a life of its own Jdf took it serious he wanted to show the world whos best ..Alot of fighters feel that way and Im sure people used to ask who was the better fighter of the two Rangers in real life. Austin was feeling it at first but after he didnt get more money he didnt even wanna be a ranger anymore he was a kid who knew martial arts and was naturally good but he was just done just disheartened he went on to civilian life and a rescue paramedic and left acting and a few low budget rated projects..Jdf went on to do way more ranger stuff at the end of the day a naturally good martial artist who became an actor who then became MMA fighter who still happens to act ....two guys on separate paths ..respect to both
I've meet both ASJ & JDF working at the Go Mega event for Legacy Wars in NYC. ASJ was really nice, polite and played the Legacy Wars Game with staff & UA-camrs. Carried himself well and was a great Guest.
JDF was a pain to work with at the event, acting like a Mega Star. When He heard ASJ was in the building, He left the Con for the day. We had to reschedule his interview to Sunday for the live stream. Austin was on the other side of the building. No way near the Boomstudios and Nway booth. Craziest Diva stunt I've seen working at a convention.
In my opinion only one who carried beef was JDF. ASJ & Bender was a good 20 min away from our booth. But soon as Austin's name was brought JDF left with his People and we had to re arrange the Mega zord promo. Staff was confused, since they meet Jason at other Cons and was like another person. 😅
I found that very disrespectful when fans paid to see him to do that.
ASJ was a class act when I met him. Nothing bad to say about him.

I don't know, in all these interviews, JDF is always saying all this stuff about Austin, but when you hear Austin speak, he sounds like the most humble guy, he's a paramedic, etc. But JDF always sounds arrogant and antagonistic.
Now, I'm not saying JDF is lying, but if he's not, either Austin is making him look stupid by not being that person JDF is describing; or Austin grew up and changed and JDF couldn't just leave it alone. I always say this. If you have to tell people how humble you are, how no non-sense and how you don't hold grudges against people, maybe you're not so good at those. This is clearly a one sided beef. You hear these stories only from Jason. I didn't hear any of the other crew members saying bad stuff against Austin and he never said anything bad about Jason. This was years before it was uploaded. It was uploaded in 2017, so he was 34 at the time of the upload. It was more than 10 years ago, so JDF was 24 at the oldest. They squashed the beef. It's over and has been over for awhile.

What really happened is JDF hyped up this BS to promote himself as an MMA fighter, and that kind of didn’t pan out the way he wanted, so he’s all in on Power Rangers and part of that means accepting ASJ. I think ASJ is probably a turkey of the highest order and he probably was problematic on set, but until any of what JDF says about him can be corroborated, it all has to be disregarded.

Derik Roberts Realize this interview is over a decade old. At the time the back n fourth bickering between ASJ & JDF was before ASJ became a medic. He was not busy doing “real life”. He had the time to take up JDF on a match but never came through. But again this beef is now decades old. JDF & ASJ put this behind & they’ve become civilized. They’ve done appearances together and work together again through cons.

JDF and Austin have done con appearances together and photo meet n greets with fans. They just haven’t done a panel together. And it’s not because of they don’t want to. Scheduling gets in the way and also the fans have to write in their demands as to what and who they wanna see at these cons. They can’t just show up where ever and when ever.

6:55 JDF mentions he's 36 amd JCVD is 49 so there is a 13 year age difference between the two, and this interview must have been at least as old as 2005 since thats the year he was 36, but probably a bit newer than that; like around 2010 since he was recounting a past event there; especially since in 2010 thats when JDF had started his whole amateur and professional MMA career; so talking about fighitng people like JCVD and ASJ (real name Jason Lawrence Geiger, son of U.S. Marine and martial artist Steve John) would been right around or after that.
. JCVD is now 62, ASJ is 48 and JDF was 49 when he passed away in Nov 0f 2022.
JDF was talking about the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Move premiere that he saw Van Damme at when he was acting like a dick to him. That was in 1995.

Nope. Originally Saban had already filmed a pilot episode and was pitching that pilot episode of Power Rangers to networks. Fox Kids picked up the show and they ordered Saban to start production on the first season. At the time Audri DuBois was originally Trini the Yellow Ranger but when the show was picked up she found out the show was non-union and so she went into negotiation with Saban to make Power Rangers a union show or she would quit. Saban decided to replace her all together.. and so she was fired. Amidst that drama Saban was reviewing the Super Sentai Zyuranger footage trying to plan out a story line for the show when they came across footage of a green ranger showing up mid season. Now Saban was on the hunt for a new yellow ranger & a green ranger. They found Thuy Trang & Jason David Frank at the same audition and they were casted on the spot. Since then JDF has always been with the original cast ever since it was officially picked up and they officially started production. Even though his character didn't show up till episode 17 JDF was always on set working with the crew figuring how they were gonna introduce his character into the show and he hung out with the cast bonding with them, teaching them stunts and fighting techniques. Saban redid the pilot episode which was the first episode of the series but this time with Thuy as Trini the Yellow Ranger and Fox did not start airing Mighty Morphin Power Rangers until they finished filming the entire first season... Seeing these videos Jason was a dick, who never moved on from Power Rangers. like when Austin said any of this ( if he did ) he was a kid. i guess some people just don't grow up. i guess it was better when i didn't know JDF for anything more then the show he was on.

I met ASJ and it was very transactional. He was all about the money. ASJ told me he's trying to get into acting again and would love to play a Israeli mafia guy. (I took this as a dig to Saban)

At first I thought JDF came off as the one in the wrong one, especially cause he started getting tattooed and wearing expensive clothes, but After watching countless interviews, I can definitely say ASJ still gloats during panels and talks over other peers. JDF has shown a lot of interest and respect for his peers and his fans. I believe JDF, I think he just wanted everyone to know the truth. His delivery wasn’t great, but nobody is perfect.
ASJ is a good guy and helps save lives, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t cocky. Just watch the panels and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

Austin stole from the government, he took out multiple loans for pandemic assistance for small businesses.
Austin showed no interest in power rangers or his fans until he realized he could make money for it. Jdf has been loyal to his fan base since the very beginning. Just because he wasn’t there for a few episodes doesn’t mean he hasn’t heard stories from the rest of the original cast. Everyone knows Austin was/is cocky.
Austin is now fat and out of shape, yet he still thinks he’s an established fighter/martial artist. It’s so obvious he is not. He lies so much he believes it himself. He’s way too cocky for his own good.

I know the comment was 2 months ago, but your comment is even deeper now. JDF committed suicide on Saturday. I think that action explained so much. He made so much noise to look confident and look at what happened. The irony has such a deeper meaning now. Very sad.
