This beat is crazy, sounds like a cold winter night
The cover art helps that feeling
it's from a uk producer as well.
It’s a UK drill beat
a lot of uk producers can make seasonal beats very well. e.g steel banglez is great for summer instrumentals
the video helps that feeling too
This is UK Drill, not grime guys. And yes he’s smashing this track

@@g2dap982 This style is 100% UK drill though. There's an unmistakable stylistic difference
a genre of popular music influenced by UK garage, typically characterized by a minimal, prominent rhythm, a very low-pitched bassline, and vocals by an MC.
It’s more of a toronto slang, lots of toronto references. UK slang slightly different
Ikr, but I think they think it’s grime because of the synth type part of the beat
This is one of the few channels that actually give Drake props for his craft. Most people crucify him for the rumors of ghost writing and fail to see how nice and slick he is with his bars and rhymes. I’m just saying if he got caught with the ghost writer and everybody know who he is, why is still the most important rapper and artist of the last decade.
Ulises Flores facts what a time it has been.
He's not important and he's only "relevant" because most of his fans aren't true hip hop heads.

from UK. I think its half and half to be honest. half think hes a culture vulture, the other half think hes bringing light to the sound. Me personally i watched the interview with Rap radar, regardless of what sound he hops on he respects the culture, he doesn't just bite the sound then leave. I like Drake, i feel like he is a versatile artist and to be honest he has enough money, he will always be relevant, so from my point of view there is no point of biting sounds for relevancy so he must be just doing it from a musical stand point, trying out new things. just my take.
I think you've hit the nail on the head here.
I think he killed this, can't expect him to do drill as raw as the young people in the UK, but as far as someone like Drake doing it, fire.
Keem. 100 percent bro. Bare man just wanna talk shit about everything. He put UK on the map in the US. With all the features and love he shows, and bringing out our artists on tour.
Dope take man....👌🏽.
Your trying your hardest to make him look good no matter how bad he is. Cmon now.
He said it and that rap radar interview was extremely good I recommend it but yeah . If anybody finds lies in what he says put it here with proof. I don’t follow where he stays and helps but I do know when he was doing that Uk drill he did put people from that scene on his more life tape
George saying, "this kinda hot, this kinda hot..." towards the end is exactly why I'm subbed to this channel. We all know George is an elitist with hip-hop and lyricism lol but he's willing to admit when something is dope. When it's dope it's dope

What's the difference? I would like to know too🤔🤗
@@kingspeech2240 grime is 140 bpm (typically) drill has much more varied bpm and typically has a heavy bass behind it and other aspects too, not a musician or anything but from a fans knowledge that's all I can give you.
Edit.
If you want a comparison of the two listen to Dave - 100Ms (grime) and then listen to Dave - paper cuts (drill) two different types of songs completely by the same artist (shows the range in Dave as well)
@@kingspeech2240 completely different genres..Grime is usually much faster, 140bpm, and developed from UK Garage and Ragga/Dancehall style of MCing. Drill came from Chicago but UK version evolved over time into something different style and sound wise. Violent themes are still there, but flows and beats are very non American. This song is, sound wise, a very good representation of UK Drill, but lyrics should be much more violent. Flow is very similar to UK Drill legend Headie One, so you can check him out if you're interested. For Grime you can check Wiley, who is one of the originators of the genre. I could go on but this will get you started if you're interested. ✌️
@UCPl9VP8cz_EiZELxfg-koVA true...I do follow Drill from all over and I like NY Drill scene, plus they work with a lot of UK producers. People often think that Grime is just a name for UK Rap, not knowing that it's its own genre so I try to inform when I can.

PS woyoii Is a JAMAICAN phrase created by Popcaan which is signed to his ovo label also. Drake frequents Jamaica a lot which is obviously why he’s so in sync with the lingo (patois). The GAZA strip is in portmore Jamaica which is Vybz Kartels block. Another Jamaican artist he’s a huge fan of. Who’s also the one who put Popcaan on the scene. God’s Eye by Dave
U.K Drill evolved in to it's own genre although at first it was influenced by Chicago Drill carrying over the same graphic language & subject matter, but later it evolved in to something completely different.
Some of these artists have unique distinctive flows, some have crazy wordplay & barz artists such as Digga D and K.O .. but a lot have U.K lingo & U.K references so many people from overseas don't fully understand them & can't relate, the beats the whole sound, everything is way different.
I think people get caught up with the name having "Drill" in it so associate it with Chicago Drill but in actuality it is completely different. From U.K Drill it influenced Drill from all over the world, Irish Drill, Australian Drill, German Drill & many new American Drill artists from New York use these type of beats & have the same flows, check out American artist "Sheff G" there's many many more.
Junier Hussein Uk drill was not influenced by Chicago drill, it’s called drill cause of the subject matter, nothing to do with Chicago
@@tabssmusic5799 Nope, you are incorrect completely untrue, a lot of misinformation, ask the artists themselves who first started making drill they themselves said they was influenced by Chicago Drill artists such as chief keef, lil Durk etc..
I mean tbh I don’t

You are right Drake's intention is to bring exposure to the UK scene & the flow he borrowed or incorporated was a UK Drill flow not Grime lol Grime is completely another genre all together way way faster imagine old Busta, We have UK Rap, Grime, UK Drill etc.. different genres, some artists here can do both Grime & Rap but a select few recent artists make UK Drill, but yh completely different sound to Grime, Digga D, Headie one are a few to name who make UK Drill, Although in Canada there is a lot of similarities to the UK in terms of culture & slang, but the distinctive words he uses in this particular song are UK lingo even my Toronto friends agree, he should of featured a UK Drill artist on the song would of been dope, Good reaction as always my brothers.
I'm an American, but I was thinking the same. And please correct me where I'm off. Different speeds and cadences between grime and drill. Also, I've always felt that drill had a harder street edge to it. Grime seems to be more about the pattern and cadence of the verse over the track, and less rough. I've even heard some grime artists talking more about women than the streets. I did catch Drake using UK hood slang. From what I've heard on UK tracks, and face timing with my guys in West London, there is almost a Jamaican touch to y'all slang. "ting" or "man dem" "wah gwan" "batty/batty boy" are the more common ones I hear in conversation with them. I keep waiting for one to scream WHAT THA BLOODCLAT?! 😂😂😂
In high school it was mainly 90s East Coast artists for us (Rakim, Nas, Gangstarr, Jeru) but, we rocked with alot of Reggae/Reggaeton (Buju Banton, Sizzla, Capleton, etc) so I already know what a lot of it means. Haha but sometimes I have no clue what my dude be saying. Mad heavy accent on him. He's gotta break me off some knowledge. My man was talkin about corn and teeth out da ting, and I think he said "mismatched" before I finally asked tf he was talkin about. Then he made the trigger gesture with his finger and I got it. From what i gather y'all gotta be extra careful with what you say. Yall can be brought up on charges, yeah? Anyways, i remembered Lennox Lewis would scream jamaican gangster slang when he'd win. I was always curious where that influence came from. Just picked up from the old yardy's?
His intention is to give more exposure and then take 100% credit for creating and making UK Drill, the damn culture vulture
@@Aphexia bruh! another cat told me to check out the joint he did with Dave. After I listened to it I said I'd have liked it better without Drake. Back in the day when Lennox Lewis would be interviewed after a win he'd always get into his Rude Boy Yardy mode at the end. We listened to a lot of reggae/reggaeton (Buju, Sizzla, Capleton, etc) along with East Coast artists like Rakim, Nas, and KRS-1/BDP. They had an artist called Mad Lion with them and he had a reggaeton vibe as did KRS-1 sometimes. Listening to more UK Drill and Grime I noticed a lot of common slang with Jamaican artists. I was telling the dude that something about Drake always bothered me. Like, I just don't buy it. Something not natural or genuine about dude. Then I heard that song and saw the lyrics, and the whole thing clicked! He was using yall slang but it felt way tf off coming from him. I could never quite put my finger on what I didnt like about him until just now. You nailed it. Dude trying to rebrand yall sound. I bet when he went over there for that weak ass FITB he did, he was peeping game. 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Ano Nymous just cause he’s a culture vulture, he tries to “adapt” by latching onto other popping artists used his name to so called “elevate” them while staying relevant and just piggy backing off them, it’s cheap, instead of reinventing himself or just putting out the same sound to appeal to his target audience he just steals others and takes credit and no one can’t say shit cause he’s one of the biggest rappers atm
@@Aphexia I only really listen to UK rap so I can only talk about how Drake affected the UK scene and in my opinion, Drake really helped the UK scene grow by featuring OG UK artists such as skepta and giggs on his songs, bringing out some UK rappers to his shows like J.HUS, coming out to some UK rappers shows like Section Boyz, freestyled on UK platforms like link up tv, etc. He even helped fund the newest season of the UK show Top Boy which is huge. He didn't need to do any of these things, but he did and it defiently elevated the scene. To say that he just piggy backed off our culture is just not true imo, but I can only speak for the UK.
I’ve always been hot or cold on Drake but this tracks been on repeat for a week. Something about it man. Drake doesn’t need to appropriate anyone’s culture. He ALWAYS shows love to every scene he dabbles in and puts people onto billions of people.. not millions. Give the man credit.

Drakes flow is so abnormal
Hoping this serves as a fresh perspective. I'm a South African that listens to rap from across the world. This is definitely a UK Drill type song (and this beat is arguably the softest UK Drill beat I've ever heard) and honestly, Drake just understands the culture and uses his knowledge of patois and UK street slang to his advantage. Some say he steals the flow on this song from Headie One (arguably the most marketable and well known UK Drill artist out right now), but to me it's not a steal, but there's definitely inspiration there. All this being said, Drake has released a UK Drill freestyle on a UK platform before... He did a "Behind Bars" on Link Up TV and afterwards did a Fire In The Booth in the time he was over in London to shoot the music video for "Nonstop", and this was when his beef with Pusha T was reaching the pinnacle, because in the Behind Bars there are shots at Pusha and Kanye. All in all though, it was a really good first released attempt at Drill, with Giggs being the catalyst in the move (the same Giggs that featured on More Life, not Skepta as you guys mentioned)...
In summary, I rock with this song heavily, not just for the content, but the context as well, stylisticly and artistically 🙌🏻
Thank you so much for this reaction.
