1950 Chevy Truck (Ep 36) Sandblasting Rusty - Pitted areas on the Cab

Well it's time to get covered in sand as I need to get several rusty and pitted areas on the Chevy Truck Cab sandblasted so we can move forward with prep work. The areas are small but the pitting is pretty severe so there will need to be some restorative work done once all the rust has been removed.

I’m looking forward to blasting mine. But, it might be spring before I can, it’s too cold to do it now. But at the same time, I’m wondering if it’s worth all that. I’ve got a bunch of pits. Lol 😂

I guess it all depends on the build doesn't it? Getting the rust out of the pits has to be done or it will eventually blister sooner or later. Best to wait for dry weather so if it takes you a little time to complete the area you don't have to worry to much about it oxidizing again.

@@FoothillPaintandFabrication yes I’ll definitely wait actually I’m thinking about not doing much of it at all this year, I’ll do the interior, as much of the frame as possible and around the front and rear windows and leave the rest for another time. While I’m not a fan of “patina” Private might just have to be that one ugly but, sounding good 1950 Chevy at the car shows. lol 😂 I’m getting old and I’d like to drive it sooner than later. Haha
