With frequent business travel, sticking to a skincare regimen can be tough. That's why I was happy to find liteleeextra rice berry vitamin C serum. I've been using it for about 2 months now, and it has become an essential part of my daily skincare regimen. The serum comes in a handy size that's TSA-friendly that fits perfectly in my carry-on bag. Despite its small size, it packs a powerful punch. I've noticed a visible improvement in my skin's brightness and clarity since I started using it. The serum has a light texture that quickly absorbs, making it easy to apply before my riceberry moisturizer and makeup. I appreciate that it's free of fragrance and doesn't leave any sticky residue. Whether I'm on long flights or quick trips, this serum keeps my skin looking fresh.

I unfortunately find Vitamin C very ineffective for treating hyperpigmentation ☹️ I have used high - end and low end products it just doesn’t work for me. The only product that was amazing but has unfortunately been discontinued is the ordinary Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, that was amazing for brightening my skin tone 😩
So thorough, love this. Would love to see your recommendations for hand care, seems unnecessary but is one of the places I notice many women struggle with. I use my face products on my hands but notice it is hyperpigmented and dry despite that. Would love to see/hear your recommendations!
I've had great success using my retinal eye cream on the backs of my hands along with a Q10 cream I got for my face that's a little too heavy for there. My hands are noticably younger looking after a couple months of that routine. No dark spots and firmer overall skin there.
@@TheTravelInfluencer Eye retinal is from Beauty of Joseon. Q10 is some random thing from Germany I bought once and won't rebuy. I have gone up now to using my tretinoin at .025 on my hands though. Now I use the retinal on my forehead and throat. About to go up to .05% tretinoin on the rest of my face, and may wind up using the .025% on my forehead and neck, letting the retinal go now that my skin has gotten use to retinoic acid in general. Eventually I hope to be at .05% tretinoin on full face, neck and back of hands.

ACCUTANE!!! I wish I knew Accutane existed. I had low maintenance skin, no acne or issues. Then I turned 18 and acne became an ongoing issue for years!!! I tried different medication/topical crap to no avail. I gave up. I came across a UA-cam video where a girl shared her journey on Accutane & I literally started crying at the thought I now had hope. I was 25 and demanded Accutane from my derm && it worked!!!!! After 4 months my skin was clear 🎉. My miracle drug ❤
Love your content. However, the takeaway I got from this video is to consult with my dermatologist to determine which Vitamin C derivative is best for my acne prone, sensitive aging skin. 😅
Hi Dr. Stephens! I'm like 5 minutes new to your videos & I've been able to find most of the answers to my questions, but I have a few that I haven't seen. I am turning 54 (passing for 45) in a few weeks & my parents genes are AMAZING!! I've never had facial skin problems (acne, dark spots, wrinkles, dry patches) that some people of color have. I recently fell ill & lost 60+ pounds very rapidly & in an unhealthy manner. I'm an autoimmune patient & have had 'moon face' for the past 20 years from medications. I have high cheek bones & now that I'm recovering, I'm starting to notice what look like hollow (sunken) areas. I don't wear makeup & for the first time in my life I look very pale. There's puffiness & swelling over & under my eyes (dropping lids) that may have been there for years (?) but was hidden under the 'steroid face'. I have very sensitive combination skin & I've been hesitant to use anything near my eyes except cooling gel packs. I guess you can say botox would be an easier fix, but I don't want easy, I want safe & healthy. How can I treat this & do you have any videos I can reference?
Thank you Dr Stephens. I have 2questions. Is it okay for my daughter in her early teens to use vitamin c; also is DHC vitaminC good for brown skin girls. Thank you. Nice to have you back.
I have dry acne prone skin but I love the neutrogena capsules of 20% vit c. Because it’s the highest strength, I sometimes put a dime size of moisturizer in my palm and empty two capsules and mix and than for all over face and neck and run in well. Other times when my skin isn’t breaking out than I will use two capsules dotted fist and rub in and follow with a moisturizer on top. I find one capsule is just not enough and doesn’t spread all over so I have to use two capsules. If it itches or burns than mix with moisturizer before applying and even if it dilutes it some, it’s already max strength. I love that they stay fresh and don’t oxidize. I have had significant fading of my acne mark hyperpigmentation and it makes my skin glow.
You’re videos are awesome! Truly enjoy the educational aspects, and the wealth of knowledge you give! I saw your comments below regarding niacinamide- does it lighten or change your skin tone?! I’ve been using it and have actually noticed a lightening affect. Appreciate your thoughts!
My skin seems resilient. I had no problems with vitamin c or retinol and was able to ramp up quickly with both. Only thing I have ever had problems with is coconut oil. Go figure.

However, during the winter my lips becomes so dry sometimes they easily bleed when over rubbed. The same moisturizers I use no longer works. Additionally, I can't figure out what I'm allergic to in some lip products. Thanks much.
Yesss my lips go dry dry as soon as my lipgloss is wiped off it happens quick to! Idk what the problem is and I gotta use thick gloss too! Not just any kind
I haven't found a Vitamin C product that has given me the results I want.
thank you! I didn't know vitamin c wasn't so good for acne-prone skin. this information is very helpful. Thanks!
Hello Dr. Stephen's, can make a video on hyperpigmetation, dark spots and how to use retinol and vit c together ❤️ 😀 😄
My skin is more sensitive than I realized. The Vanicream Vitamin C feels great going on and doesn’t cause irritation. 😁
Can you do a video by skintype, morning and night routines, with best products based on that skin type. Oily, acne, hyper pigmementation, sensitive skin for example? My skin type lol
Your voice and general nature seems so calm and sweet. Thanks so much for sharing your time.
Thank you for the tips. I'm going to try Cerave or The Ordinary. I have been eyeing them for a minute, and now I am confident in my decision.
Wondering if it would also work for mask wearers rash?
Welcome back! Thank you for the video! Could see an episode on in office procedures that help hyperpigmentation and anti-aging? My New Year's resolution is to focus on skin care and less on makeup
Thank you and yes will do! Happy Holidays!
Dr. Stephens really be out here glowing! Come on skin!
Love the Skinceuticals C E Ferulic & have used for years.
This video has been so healthful I have viewed it numerous times before selecting the right vitamin c for my skin type. Thanks. 😊
Love the Sunday Riley Vitamin C!!❤
So good!
i love sunday riley period her stuff is great its one of my fave splurge brands
Had been struggling with which Vitamin C was best for my oily acne prone skin. Thanx for the breakdown Dr. I'm enlightened.
You are so welcome!
I'm in the same boat 🙋🏾♀️Which one do you use?
We love your content Dr Alexis. Thanks for the advice.
First time finding your channel! Sincerely thankful for this content!!!
Dr.Alexis is there anything that helps dark circles under the eye?
I love your videos so much! I'm a licensed Esthetician and watch and refer to your videos all the time!
This is just the video I needed!! Any thoughts on La Roche Posey products?
Hi Dr Alexis which moisturiser is good for oil/combination skin have vitamin c
Hi,I'm happy about this video.
I've still been working on a bit,
of hyperpigmentation;
and definitely want to slow
any aging signs.
COLD IN THE WINTER Along with being some hot days, but Humid for the summer
This was the most thorough explanation ever! Great video. Thank you!
Is it beneficial to exfoliate before applying vitamin C serum?
I was delighted to see that you'd uploaded a video. You listed a wide range of products including one by Lori Harvey's line. I liked that as well. I low-key think of these videos the same as window shopping. This is a really nice selection of products to put on my wish list. Plus you give good recommendations. Also I know this is off topic but you have such a beautiful smile.
Agreed
Welcome back Dr Stephens and Happy Holidays! I'd like to know if you have any videos on seborrheic keratosis? I have a lot of these since wearing masks due to covid. Thank you.
Can you do a video on frown lines how to get rid of them… I am a black girl and I have dark lines on each sides of my smile !! I was once told that I should use collagen but I really need some extra helpful tips! Please please make us a video
Perfect timing! I've been looking at vitamin C but it's so hard to figure out what is best for me to try. Thank you! ❤️☃️❤️
i have acne history with dark spots leftover. im a need to get rid of dark spots immediately and i need vitamin c niamicide too excellent video
Sorry to hear that have you tried using Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate combined with other brightening ingredients like the Youth to the People formula?
@@DrAlexisStephens hey doctor ! Thank you for responding 🤗. I haven’t found another MAP product since then unfortunately
MAP is a form of vitamin C….
How religiously you apply the sunscreen is of utmost importance, dearie.
Thanks for sharing Soglam.
Awesome video!! Very informative!! First one I have seen that clearly breaks down the different skin types and needs!! Thanks!!!
@@IndigooceanOrgwhat brands are you using?
@@TheTravelInfluencer Eye retinal is from Beauty of Joseon. Q10 is some random thing from Germany I bought once and won't rebuy. I have gone up now to using my tretinoin at .025 on my hands though. Now I use the retinal on my forehead and throat. About to go up to .05% tretinoin on the rest of my face, and may wind up using the .025% on my forehead and neck, letting the retinal go now that my skin has gotten use to retinoic acid in general. Eventually I hope to be at .05% tretinoin on full face, neck and back of hands.
@@IndigooceanOrg thank you so much for sharing!
I like the paulas choice. It’s strong & Semi pricey but i like it
Which one do you use from PC?
Dear Doctor you’re an amazing human being. Thank you for all the useful information 🙏
I have at my age Oily Acne Pron Skin! I CAN'T STAND IT! Right Now I'm using a gently cream cleanser w spray toner serum and acne spot treatment....
Thank you for sharing!!!! Do you have recommendations for the body?
I’ve struggle with acne as adult for my all of 20’s… and never had acne as an adolescent & then it explodes on my face like seem out of nowhere. I’ve tried so many things all these years and nothing help.. I don’t really understand what some words that you say mean. For someone starting from beginning ; my 1st question is how do you know what skin type you do have??? Sometimes my skin is dry & then it’s not. I have a lot of pimples that have turned brown and never go away no matter what . I could not afford facial doctors. I pray & pray to God for my skin to clear & then I find you on this website. 🙌🏾
Please to reply to my comment when you are not busy. Thank you so much. God Bless 🕊️
Hi Dr. Stephens, can you make a video about eyelash and eyebrow growth?
Loving the new camera!! Thank you so much for this breakdown!
Thanks so much for watching!
Love your content. However, the takeaway I got from this video is to consult with my dermatologist to determine which Vitamin C derivative is best for my acne prone, sensitive aging skin. 😅
She is a Board Certified Dermatologist
I swore off vitamin C after one aggravated my acne but this video just gave me reason to try again
Will check Vanicream C - also known to produce products for "sensitive" skin as does Cerave.
Hi Dr.
Thanks doctor what's your best recommendation to hydrate the skin
You’re videos are awesome! Truly enjoy the educational aspects, and the wealth of knowledge you give! I saw your comments below regarding niacinamide- does it lighten or change your skin tone?! I’ve been using it and have actually noticed a lightening affect. Appreciate your thoughts!
Your video has cleared out so many doubts! I loved it! Thank you so much.
I love you sis! Your so informative! I literally buy things you suggest and i have seen results thanks queen
My skin seems resilient. I had no problems with vitamin c or retinol and was able to ramp up quickly with both. Only thing I have ever had problems with is coconut oil. Go figure.
My favorite one is the Truth Serum by Ole Henriksen but I was looking for a new one so your video was very helpful !
Doc your content is always awesome. Thank you.🙏🏽❣️
You are so welcome
What are your thoughts on the Naturium Vitamin C? I just purchased it. 🙂
She looks like Anika Noni Rose!
hello thank you for your videos! can you do a video on the treatment of hyperpigmentation from hirsutism from pcos. specifically a routine (am & pm) & best products you recommen for one who can't get laser hair removal at the time.... also do you recommend retinol or layering after shaving the face (the 5 o'clock shadow and PIH) any esthetician services such as chemical peels you recommend?
Hi, Doc 🙋🏾♀️I'm new to your Channel. My question is what or which of these products would you recommend for very sensitive, oily skin with darkspots? I'm looking for darkspot removal with glowing skin without looking greasy.🤷🏾♀️ any advice?
Olay is my favorite ❤❤❤❤
Could please make a video on how to treat Melasma? I really could use some advice:)
