I suppose it might be handy for people who constantly zoom and want a place where they can store their earbuds so they are never caught dead without it. However, it feels like an extremely limited use case. Like what happens 2 years later when the batteries on these die or you lose one of them? You now have 2 cavities in the laptop taking up space, unless the company commits to selling replacements (or upgrades that share the exact form factor). Cool gimmick, but I can also see why nobody else does it.
Nope, he said they do pair with his phone, so you only need 1 pair of earbuds You just get a handy 3lb 14 inch carry case to store them in when you are walking around
@@randommusic4567 and what if you don't want to carry a laptop with you, how do you store them and charge them when that laptop is at home lol, it's a novelty at best a gimmick.
Lenovo has done the same with the Thinkbook series, a particular 15" version had a tray on one side that when ejected, it contained 2 wireless earbuds.
Apple writing down.. make laptop come with earbuds, that only work on laptop, but not phone. And charging extra for ear buds. Then causing people to buy separate ear buds for their phones. Brilliant!!
About 100 less than my lowball price on the laptop. Not a bad deal for a gimmick and decent laptop overall. I've used worse machines that cost more. And with those hidden screws, I usually use a magnet to find them, cut out just enough to only get the screw out and save the rest of the grip. Not great but a penny solution for dollar problem.
Well having even fairly low quality ear buds handy like that would be nice if you spend a fair bit of time at a library for online college classes. There are many times where you might need a libraries resources while watching a video lecture. So having even low quality but useable earbuds always on hand would make it way less of a gimmick. And 6 hours battery life is plenty solid for such a use case.
i like the idea, but i think it would be cooler if they contributed to the sound of the on-board speakers while in the laptop. phones already use amplified earpiece speakers, so i don't think its impossible to make some earbuds that could probably act as tweeters or something. like, you're already adding additional speakers via earbuds, put them to use so they aren't wasting space in the laptop when they aren't being used as earbuds.
3:54 for at least half a decade, in every Windows 10 and 11 you can simply add any language in the control panel and set it as default; you don't need to reinstall anything.
Besides the weird earbud gimmick, this laptop seems pretty damn good in every way. The only thing it falls down on is the integrated graphics, but besides that it's sweeet
Good, now make a laptop with a detachable mouse like I've been wanting for years. I only use trackpads when necessary, it would be nice to bring a laptop with me with a simple rectangle I could detach and use as a mouse. Maybe wouldn't be as good as a proper mouse, but would be better than the trackpad itself.
Thanks for calling out the 'screws hidden under rubber feet' problem/phenomenon/plague. Please continue to be vocal. I didn't notice this on my current laptop and immediately went to add a bigger SSD. I gave up on the feet going back on and just let it slide around on my table now.
The earbuds included with this laptop are for the businessman who is working on this laptop and someone video calls him on Teams he doesn’t need to dig into his bag for earbuds, or he could have completely forgot his headphones at home or hotel room. He could use the bundled earbuds as a backup. The only problem is the quality of earbuds isn’t very good.
This is personal preference, but I love 4ft (120cm) charger cables for mobile devices. They are long enough to reach a wall socket, but not excessive, unlike 2m cables. 2m and 3m power cables are for devices you don't ever intend to move around. The extra length is so you can organize them
interesting choice there with layout and power management. you rarely see an H-CPU without a dGPU, nor USB-C power! the only other case I can think of is the asus Z13 flow that has the option for an H-CPU, no dGPU and powered by >100W through USB-C. most times with H-CPU you'll get a barrel jack or a lenovo slim-tip. but I guess it's a neich loadout therefore the low popularity. plus the price really promotes compromising
gimick aside, I kinda wish more laptops had that feature to use in a pinch. I wear glasses with speakers now (used to use the bose, now the meta glasses) so I am covered now but there were plenty of times I had my laptop without a headset and would have loved a little magic backup even if the quality was lacking. We have all seen much stupider gimmicks than this for certain.
I think that I initially skipped this video because I saw Macbook in the title, I don't tend to watch any Apple Videos because I don't use their products. I think I had my Zoom at a different amount today and was able to see the full title and found that it wasn't about an Apple product. As for the product itself meh, just a gimmick with the headphones. Was Alex having a go at the clicky sound of the mouse pad or the feel? If it's just the sound, it wasn't that bad, some people might even like it.
Ryzen 6th/7th Gen with 680m or 780m can do waaaayy better, the battery is so small for an everyday productive laptop (should be atleast 68wh). overall its a very solid laptop
so how do i bring these with me on days i dont need to bring my laptop with me. Because i aint carying those earbuds around loose in my pocket, or without the ability to charge them while im not using them via a case.
just make sure to buy 5 extra ear bud pairs because you will loose those and you will be stuck with an ugly hole if you loose them. get some back-ups before they stop production of these! :,D
The earbuds are absolutely a gimmick (and they at the very least should be using RF instead of Bluetooth, considering they're mainly meant for just the laptop), but that is honestly a hell of a price for those specs. Not bad indeed.
i have a feeling that they do this so that thier higher tier models like the envy and specter will have a significant performance difference over the pavilion because when i compared 2 laptops with the exact same specs one was envy other was a pavilion the envy seems to out perform it in every way but once the power limit on the pavilion was off it beat beat the envy by 1200 points on cinebench r23 and was almost twice as fast in everything
Great showcase of there being some new, kind of out there ideas about laptops coming from Asia, if they are a little more niche. I really like the overall look, especially the keyboard and finish of the machine, but I'll agree: the integrated headphones a completely unnecessary gimmick that I would trade for more battery and a bigger track pad in a heartbeat. Only thing that I would (and could) change is ditching Windows immediately and install Linux =D
"Wifi 6, love to see that" - said nobody since 2020 when first Wifi6E devices came out. We now have consumer WIFI7 devices, selling laptop with Wifi6 is atrocious.
They need to lose the head phones and bring that to the us market for a business class machine go captive screews and no hidden screws for the cover and they would give hp a decent run for the money. So long as you all are not over hyping it this company could probably do some decent work with more gaming quality laptops for a solid entry level gaming laptop with a gen or 2 old video card they could force other companies to compete on price.
