I really like the pattern you created with the different colors of tesserae. So much more impactful than if you had gone the easier route with crazy paving. The black grout made the patterns really stand out. I do so enjoy your project videos, Peter. Thanks so much for sharing your talent!
Thankyou so much Dawn appreciate that. I am really happy with how the ball is going and hopefully it will look good when its finished. Thanks for your comment and support. :)
Another great video mate, showcasing an awesome suite of products: Litokol Epoxy Grout, Vision Art Glass, QEP nippers and Pal Tiya! Love the music on this one too.
It’s looking very colourful Peter. I wondered whereabouts you would display it? I’d love to have a go but the weight concerns me. When spring is back with us in Oz I guess I could do one in situ? The logistics may defeat me. While you may get a pal to help you move it, I wonder if I could use a well-padded wheelbarrow to tip it in and tip it out (with considerable care of course). Will yours sit on something? Concrete pad? Grass? I saw someone once do one that floated in a pool! It was stunning!
Thanks so much Wendy. Rather than a wheelbarrow you could use a tyre to sit it on and turn it. I was going to do that but I thought it was a bit low for my back so I have it sitting on a milk crate (they are so handy to have lol). Mind you a wheelbarrow may work well lined with something just until you completed the glass work. Definitely you do want a person to help you turn it, it just makes it easier on you and if you do it right there's no lifting and its not difficult. I have yet to decide where I will put it and how to display it although I do have a couple of ideas but I need to think a bit more on them. :) Thanks for watching and commenting. :)
Peter, I can't wait to see the end result! I'm a beginner in this art form. I'm taking baby steps. My 1st mosaic gazing ball was a golf ball. Then I moved up to a bowling ball. You are a professional artist and kind enough to share your knowledge and experience. I am "wowed "! That's my simple way of saying that I am in awe of you!
My comment is WOW! I can’t believe how closely you fit the tesserae together. You’re a magician! The design is beautiful.
Thankyou very much appreciate that and thanks for commenting and watching. :)
