🎯 NICE!!! Now you need to hear “Hypnotized” (1973) from Mystery to Me. The Bob Welch era is my favorite!!! Remember; there are 3 iterations of Fleetwood Mac…the Peter Green era, the Bob Welch era, and the Buckingham/Nicks era…all are beautiful in their own right.

One of their best albums. The title track sounds very CSNY and is immediately soothing.

I lucked into a friendship with the hippest flower child in Charlotte, with whom I would hitch the country in '74. She had this album as well as their Bare Trees album...along with Joni Mitchell and Judy Collins. "Show Me a Smile" is perhaps their sweetest song, which you might want to sing to your child. A lullaby. My friend always had the best feng shui, hygge, and groove, and her house and gardens wound up in magazines. Fleetwood Mac has that much power. Even more than cheese.

Thanks for reacting to early Fleetwood Mac, the Bob Welch years. There are alot of good songs from this period. Seeing you like Cristine McVie you could react to Woman of a Thousand Years,Sentimental Lady,Spare Me a Little of your Love.

These early albums were their best. The album "Then Play On" also has some amazing tunes. The band was different back then.

Fleetwood Mac has been through lots of personal changes over the many years but the Bob Welch and Danny Kirwan (as guitarist)
period was the best. Bob Welch singing lead in this one. Sentimental Lady is a must listen written and sung by Welch. Can’t not mention Christine McVi’s beautiful backing vocals on this track Future Games.

I own everything Fleetwood Mac did up until 1974. After that, they became a different animal that I had no interest in. Albeit a multi billion selling animal but I still, still, and still don't understand how anyone can listen to Stevie Nick's voice without laughing. Not my cup of tea. But this is a beautiful song. Not just Bob Welch's vocals, but the guitar interplay between him and Danny Kirwan is beyond stellar!! Fleetwood Mac had 9 great albums before what's her face showed up. All 9 well worth exploring folks!!

Fleetwood Mac started as a great blues rock band with three excellent guitarists Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer, Danny Kirwan & a superior rhythm section of Mick Fleetwood & John McVie (the rhythm section would be the only constant thru all their incarnations/genres), to this combination of Bob Welch, Danny Kirwan (from the original line up) & Christine Perfect (marrying the bassist John & becoming Christine McVie), Christine had added keyboards to the original group while still a member of Chicken Shack before joining. Both Bob & Christine wrote, sang & arranged a more rock oriented style. I saw this combination in NYC five times during the early 70's as they toured America incessantly. When Bob left saying he was burnt out from the constant gigs & the writing for albums. Then came the most popular line up with Lindsey Buckingham & singer Stevie Nicks. They moved away from the blues rock/rock towards a pop style, though still very intricate sound that gave them many hits on the radio.

When I read what some feel about Fleetwood Mac, it mirrors what I feel about Aerosmith. Their great rock albums of the 70's were replaced by "Dude looks like a lady" and "love in an elevator". Not a fan. And thus, we have these different perspectives based on our stage in life. Even though I respect the early Fleetwood Mac, I prefer the Buckingham era. And there are many out there that prefer the 80's and 90's Aerosmith. As they say, variety is the spice of life. I would like to see you guys review "The Green Manalishi" by Fleetwood Mac, and then the version covered by Judas Priest. Keep up the great work.
