- Casper Ruud made it back-to-back French Open final appearances after cruising to a 6-3 6-4 6-0 win over Alexander Zverev. A year ago, the Norwegian was dismantled in straight sets by Rafael Nadal; 12 months on the test looks no easier as Novak Djokovic lies in wait in Sunday’s final following his win over Carlos Alcaraz.

After we knew the extent of the injury for Zverev last year, it's pretty remarkable that he has got this far. Looked like one match too far for him though, he looked exhausted.
And credit where it's due for Ruud - he's been in 3 of the last 5 slam finals. Can't argue with that really.

Demolition performance of a very good in form player, this was near perfect tennis from Casper. If he plays like this on Sunday he has a great chance at winning. Casper is an excellent player.
He will lose in 3 sets.. That's the reality. Sunday's final will be quite boring. Real final was on Friday. Also consider that Zverev played today really bad..

They all said the same when Medvedev and Wawrinka played Djokovic in a Grand Slam final but they won and did it in style. Casper isn't a walkover, he has skill and endurance and a good attitude.

Ruud definitely makes us a magnificent impression in order to capture a grand slam title. He contends till the last point with his ambition, desire, resilience, soul and passion. He is determined to reach the zenith of his career at this point in order to make a huge difference concerning the evolution of his agility, compliance and motion.
As for my favorite tennis player Alexander ZVEREV, it was never easy to progress into the semi-final round of RG during this season even though he underwent a vicious injury in the last season. I am really delighted to watch my favorite tennis player on the courts within this process in order to observe this recovery. I hope Zverev will be more consistent and steadier in the second half of 2023 season.

Ruud is a true professional and has really raised his level the last few weeks. He has such a nice attitude, and may not be the most spectacular player but he gets the job done.
People are underestimating Ruuds chances on sunday. Djokovic is not in his best form, while Ruud has been rocksolid this tournament.
He is the nicest and most humble guy on tour, and I’ll be rooting for him. I think the chances are 30-70 against Djokovic. Don’t forget Djokovic-Medvedev, where another solid player destroyed Djokovic in a crucial gs final…

Highlights rarely tell the story of the game. Shot makers like Rafa, Carlos and to a degree zverev will always dominate highlight videos even when they loss the match

I love Ruud and I want him to win so badly but unfortunutaly I believe that just like the last two times at RG, the second semi final only decided whoever is gonna be the runner up. Djokovic won't miss the chance of winning #23 and even though Ruud played fantastic today he also plays very risky close to the lines which I fear won't work when it counts the most. If he plays like today maybe he has a chance but the Rune match for instance didn't convince me at all and the last two matches were also greatly decided by the mistakes of the opponents.
Stop putting spoilers in the title, so f***ing greedy. Us people that watch the highlights will not be be swayed to watch these games live just because you spoil the result before we even click the video!? 🙈

Looking to watch highlights longer than 3 minutes and your title is a spoiler and ruined it. Sad I searched for highlights. 😢
Difference is that whereas Zverev is consistantly dropping the ball short allowing Ruud to control everything and make Zverev look outclassed, Djokovc will consistantly hit his shots just inside the baseline meaning Casper's gonna look completely different. The game's suddenly gonna look and feel very different to how his last couple of games have felt. I dunno if Novak's gonna school him like Nadal did last year, but that's only cos Novak's got a few niggling injuries which may allow Casper to at least get one set. But seeing as they've played 4 times previously, including twice on clay, and Casper Ruud has yet to win a single set off Novak, chances are that it will end 3-0 Djokovic.
Zverev didn't play so bad, but Ruud was unplayable today.
Zverev played at 50% of his skill, it wasnt his match today.

The so long announced next gen is so great that there's hardly anyone in the arenas these days. I dig Ruud because in opposition to the rest of the next gen he's very well mannered. But like them, his game is...flat.

It's not like Djoker had an agressive game to come to net each time or to find all the time special corners after the return..
