Elephant is Musth dumb ass. This is normal behavior for a male elephant when they are in musth. Gland on the neck starts to leak and they become super aggressive. If he were free in the wild, he would be doing the same thing.
The reason why the elephant is angry is that there's another elephant inside that cage. That's why she was angry. If people understand animals' feelings some more, they'll know animals have feelings. These elephants are very emotional animals.
Boo hoo these are mainly instinct driven wild animals they have a very basic spectrum of emotions. Personally I despise these stupid creatures I think they are nasty god awful creatures. I think it's tantrums are hilarious 😂😂

+Veeral Gandhi Thank you for your suggested possible reason. Why doesn't the zoo keep a watering spray on the ground? And let the elephant roam in much bigger pasture? Watching this, I'm very upset! It should be reported to the Animal Control Department as animal neglect or abuse!!
no, they are kept separate while they introduce new elephants to the enclosure -- so they can smell and hear each other first with no danger of being able to attack. they are all females.
Elephant is Musth dumb ass. This is normal behavior for a male elephant when they are in musth. Gland on the neck starts to leak and they become super aggressive. If he were free in the wild, he would be doing the same thing.
Seems very distressed at being separated from the other elephants, but there must be a reason why the zoo is keeping them apart. Elephants are highly social herd animals, and zoos know this full well. Maybe this elephant doesn't get along with one of the others for some reason, or is in the middle of treatment for a medical condition and this is temporary isolation.
also could be a short separation time for foot care or vet check ups. Zoo's with herds need to sometimes separate pairings for a short time to give care, it is dangerous enough to give foot care with an elephant alone, and bringing a whole other elephant into the process can make it very complicated and dangerous. It is best to separate them for a short amount of time.
That person in the cage is deliberately annoying the elephant, going in and out.He has clearly mistreated the elephant at some time and the poor thing simply wants to kill him.

I am a Memphian and whenever i've been to the zoo, the people that take care of these animals seem to love them with all their heart and they also respect them. my husband and I went a couple years ago and the elephant actually "waved" at us with her trunk. My husband kept waving back at her. She continued to do this for about 5 minutes then she tucked her trunk into her mouth and "smiled." It was sweet.
He/she is not PISSED OFF... they are SOCIAL ANIMALS and the FACT that we are all ALONE and everyone ELSE is inside SUCKS!!! And we want to be WITH THEM! I'm SURE the zoo has a REASON for isolating this one... but it's sad to watch!
I grew up with an African elephant this is a bush African elephant which is doing his dance. They sometimes do this and like to show who is boss. They are the most dangerous to be around.
He might be a male in Musth, which happens at least once a year, when the testicles double in size, and the testosterone can be 50 times more than usual. When in musth, the urine smells terrible and constantly dribbles down the back legs, and often the glands near the ears seep a fluid down the face of the elephant. With so much testosterone (50 to 60 times more than usual), the male acts very rowdy, is aggressive, wants to be in charge, drive other males away, and follow the females in case one is in estrus. But, mainly, males in musth act this way in the wild. If you check the many videos of wild African elephants in musth, and read/listen to the experts talk about this condition, which may last two weeks, I think, you will understand more about it. But, I am just blowing smoke here, as I live in Maine, USA, where there are no elephants at all, but have been casually studying them via YOU TUBE and other sources. SO I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS A MALE IN MUSTH, but it sure looks like it (and notice he is being kept in a separate cage, which would indicate MUSTH. Maybe somebody that actually knows could tell us? We don't need to see them up close and personal. We have television and internet. We don't need to cage them so zoo owners can be wealthy and idiot crowds can stare at them and taunt them all day every day, then they sleep in a jail cell at night. There are sanctuaries for these abused elephants. There is one right there in Tennessee that is wonderful. There are more. Elephant prison is not necessary, and it is not humane.
There is a zoo in Australia that actually tries very hard to make their animals feel like they have a bit of freedom. They don't even have to be on public display if they don't want to, because their habitats are huge, and they have lots of areas to hide if they want to. The Memphis zoo is a nightmare for animals, and should be shut down.
He is in musth. If you leave him in an enclosed space with other elephants there is a good chance he will kill one of the smaller ones. This is why zoo's aren't the greatest place for elephants.

release the elephant back in the wild where they belong. its upset about something they are not ment to be slaves to humans
Live the elephant in his own forest..
Plz.. give the freedom to that elephant..
Elephants are social animals. This a bad treatment of these gentle animals
Thank you , very much for this video but it would be very kind to also
mention the reason for all this extra ordinary behaviour.
This sounds a type of incomplete picture.

Can the caretakers of these elephants give the viewers a straight answer as to why this particular elephant appears so stressed / agitated ???
keepers dont typically give info on the care of their animals because even if they do explain what is happening people will take it the wrong way.
Me if Jurassic World Dominion is delayed again.
