This Is What the Universe Sounds Like! (Very Creepy) - Five Real Sound Recordings From Space

  • Is there sound in space? Yes! and it's very eerie! The universe is full of spectacular places, and they're certainly not silent. Space is actually filled with all kinds of different waves that we cannot see or hear, but our powerful telescopes and spacecraft can. By converting this data into sound, using a process called sonification, we can experience the universe in a whole new way. In this video, you will listen to the sound of the early universe, just moments after the big bang, a supermassive black hole, the violent wind from a star, and the current most common type of exoplanet discovered throughout the galaxy. Finally, we will listen to the space between the stars, the lonely interstellar medium. So what does the universe sound like?

makes me sad that i am deaf, and can't actually HEAR things like this, but the vibrations are probably just as outer worldly as what many are able to hear. Also, thank you Rob, for all the work you put into your videos for people like me who love astronomy and space related learning and viewing. It makes me sad to think that there is a vast, never ending amount of space and galaxies and we may only ever be able to learn about the space that is observable to us. Which is just a grain of sand compared to the rest. I wonder what kind of things we'd find if we had the ability to teleport around space to any distance.

I thought that there is no sound in open space because the effect we consider as "sound" is a vibration that propagates as an acoustic wave, through a transmission medium such as a gas, liquid or solid. Obviously sound is impossible in vacuum as shadow is impossible in the place with no light at all.

Yes. The Creator HIS Majesty YAH is beyond amazing. If you're curious to know how it sounds like around His Throne, read
Revelation 4:5 (WEB) Out of the throne proceed lightnings, sounds, and thunders. There were seven lamps of fire burning before his throne, which are the seven Spirits of GOD.
      Truly ...
The heavens declare the glory of GOD. The expanse shows his handiwork.
Day after day they pour out speech, and night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech nor language, where their VOICE (sounds!) is not heard.
Their voice has gone out through all the earth, their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun,
which is as a bridegroom coming out of his room, like a strong man rejoicing to run his course.

@@windycity70 I have began my studies into cosmology and into the mysteries of the universe... And over time, I've come to realize that we will never really know how we got here. The Big Bang theory sounds just as likely as God creating the universe. I don't know how else to explain it. God creating the universe and eventually life on our planet makes more sense than just one day there's a "boom"(maybe the boom was God creating matter that formed into planets/solar systems/galaxies?) and the universe magically appears. Life has so many questions! Also, out of all the solar systems and planets out there, why is Earth the only one to be inhabited by life? Why was it specifically chosen when there are other planets out there that are in habitable zones but still no life lives there? It could drive a man mad trying to find the answers.
