► The Italy based keyboard developer Studiologic presented on this year's NAMM show a very interesting 88 keys keyboard. It's not only an high-quality MIDI keyboard but it features also a physical modelling organ with drawbars, a synth engine that is based on the sledge Synthesizer as well as samples from piano, e-piano... Beside, it features cool iOS features.

For people wondering about the synth engine, the 9 drawbars control the following synth functions: filter cutoff, filter resonance, filter attack, filter decay, filter release, LFO speed, LFO depth, amp attack, amp release. So it's a way to do extensive editing on existing synth sounds. You have to start with a sound that has the oscillator waveform you wish to use and go from there. No complaints from me. Just look at what you get for the price. It's going to take away sales from Nord. I'm wondering why the guy doing the interview asked twice about the organ. Maybe that's all he's interested in.
The guy is me ;) I'm interested in all the features but it was the last day of the NAMM, full of stress in my head and sometimes questions comes twice ;)
Well your video is better than Kraft Music's. That one lasted less than 2 minutes and there was no demonstration of the drawbar organ and only a few seconds of the synth editing.
This keyboard can't come out quick enough for me.
I'm still waiting for an official in-depth look at the synth section. What exactly are the preset sounds you can edit with the drawbars? Individual oscillators? 3-oscillator configurations? Are they editable in any other ways through the menu? I'm almost certainly going to buy this keyboard, but I'm dying for more information and demos.
Hopefully, the owner's manual will be on their website soon for download. But I doubt that there will be much more editable than the 9 functions I mentioned above on the drawbars.
Are you forecast when it will arrive in a compact 2x in Brazil?
I am really looking forward to hear more of the NC2X, especially its organ sounds. I think this has the potential of becoming a Roland V-Combo killer. The NC2X is quite a bit cheaper and it seems to have a much, much better keybed than the V-Combo (88 semi-weighted keys with aftertouch is absolutely unheard of in this price range).
Even if the rotary-effect isn't good enough, you could add an external effect like the EHX Lester K, and you would still have spend a bit less than the cost of a Roland VR-09B.
I think it has the possibility of taking customers away from Nord.
The Numa Compact 2 hasn't even been out 6 months and now they come out with the 2X. So what's coming this summer, the Compact 3?
I really would like to know how crippled the Numa Organ 2-based tonewheel engine has to be to fit on the Compact 2x...
I can't answer here in detail about it but what they said to me it's physical modelling and quite versatile. It's not a monster organ with thousand of features but decent enough to work with it :)
So did the guy off camera know he was telling a lie when he told Chris this would be out in April 2018?
