My grandfather worked on the Sr 71 project his specialty was the engine's. Every time I see that beautiful black bird reminds me of him.
Man I wish those birds were still flying. I’d love to see one in the air in person.
That would be awesome. F-35s and F-16s are cool. Something tells me you could feel their engines in your chest sitting in your house.
@@BadCactusJones I saw f-35’s and f-22’s fly at an air show a couple years ago with the blue angels. I’ve always loved watching the F/A-18 super hornets fly, and my current fav is the F-22, but I have to say the guys flying the F-35’s stole the show. We watched the show from the shade of the wings of a kc-130 tanker and when the F-35 flew over us you could see the cone forming around the plane as he was close to Mach 1. I took my 2 boys over to look at the planes a little closer right after he landed and parked, and saw the pilot still in his gear walking around. He let the kids get right up next to the plane and climb up to see the cockpit. Stood and talked to us for 20 minutes about the plane and his experience in the navy. My oldest is interested in joining. He was so cool to the kids man, it was awesome. I asked him how fast he was going when he flew over the tanker, and got the greatest response…”oh, point 9 6” like everything just goes that fast. Great dude, and great show.
It is quite surreal to see an SR-71 rolling down a road made for vehicles right next to building.🤯
Still the fastest jet ever. These were build in the 60s. Amazing.

There was this awesome “aircraft carrier parking simulator” game on IPhone few years ago where you could tow F18 on the flight deck as a timed event…
No SR71 though…
probably my favorite aircraft. got to see one at the Pima Air and Space museum.
There are 4 anchors holding the "swappable" nose/ cockpit and the wings separate to allow engine access so it can break down into 3 pieces (nose and both wings) to allow truck access to be able to haul it to another museum if necessary.Cheers!!
A little JP6, lite 'em up, Max with his space suit on, tower clearance, off we go! I believe this is still a classified USAF/CIA equipment.

ny has a a12 on the intrepid
San Diego and the Blackbird Airpark in CA. The Airpark has an A-12 and SR side by side.
