These events are great for the game. Local clubs need to leverage them in cooperative marketing. That way fans can get more. Much like radio stations that would play a band music post concert for people to ride the thrill on their way home. Rob had a good thing going getting Falcao to come to Orlando back when the PFL was trying get started. It created excitement and filled the stands. If we are ever going to get a Pro league here, we will need to use celebrities (retired footballers) to bring in the crowds and get hooked on the game. I would love that Penalty Shootouts be more like the old MLS Shootouts. I've wanted all fouls in overtime to be from the 10m mark. It would cause teams near the end of a tied game to stay aggressive since they won't fear going to 5 fouls into overtime. Also, every foul could be the game winner. It will take someone like Rob who has engineered his own goals, backstop nets and now flooring to engineer an insert to reduce the size of the goal mouth.
Love that Ron! I see mini pitches at my local MLS team and know that’s been a bit of a fad across the league. Any time soccer people are together is a chance to grow the game in my book!
