I never tire of seeing the Haka. I’m Irish, but it always moves me. New Zealand has brought the Haka to the world and I am proud that it is part of our rugby culture.

I’m Scottish and I love the Springbok vs All Black rivalry!! You guys get stuck into each other like no other yet maintain the highest respect! Awesome👊
Quan Nguyen you seem to have the wrong idea from this video. NZ was colonised, by force. The ‘native culture’ was not and is not ‘embraced’ at all. The haka is loved because it’s been branded by this team. However our language is still not taught in schools, Māori are frequently told to limit when they perform haka and our treaty has never been honoured. This gives a false view of the relationship between our two peoples.
Add to that.. NZ gives one week a year to celebrate te reo maori ..and that is not embraced by all. Sadly. Without ones indigenous language from.birth and in ones lifetime we will always be viewed as 2nd class citizens in our own country.
What are guys talking? About every highschool in the country has a haka and they all teach te reo too I don't know when you guys grew up but the Maori culture is influential in almost every highschoolers life. I went to Hamilton Boys' and every 6 months we would stay at a marae for two weeks when training for rowing. The Maori culture is so unique and I think New Zealanders embrace it well. I'm a kiwi btw.
JUAN BAUTISTA SEMENZATO I know a man(72 yo) from Brazil and he said that he wishes that the British colonised them instead of the Spanish, because then at least some part of the native Brazilian culture would have been saved. He said the native Brazilian language and culture has been lost and they’re almost synonymous with the Spanish and other Spanish colonies. In NZ Maori is recognised as 1 of 3 official languages, pretty much all schools have a haka and teach te reo Maori and have a marae. How has it not been embraced? What more can you want after being colonised. The Maori have it easy, they’re lucky to even be recognised
When I was reading this comment, I thought you were about to say “I wonder how different things would’ve been if American settlers... settled in Aoteroa (nz)” and I was like ‘NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!’ But then I read the rest of the comment, but remember it’s not to late to embrace the native culture.
Greetings from Ireland, where we too fight for our language, culture and identity. I hope the Maori are being looked after by the New Zealand government and people. This has been a brilliant video to watch and learn from. From one warrior people to another, we salute you.

It symbolizes everything that is tradition and resonates with every warrior spirit across the globe and into the universe. I am proud beyond measure. What a great country and amazing people. Having seen this at Twickenham a few years ago . As an Englishman it gave me goosebumps knowing how much New Zealand means to everyone. When you play the All Blacks it's not just 15 players but a whole nation with there ancestors watching over them . Formidable. 👏👏👏
Mr Gardiner much love & respect for your gracious words & acknowledging our haka. I must give kudos & acknowledge the English media as they were the ones responsible for giving us the nik name all blacks over 100 plus years ago back in the day. When they first saw our NZ rugby team. They were amased watching these rugby players running around in this all black uniform & they were just bloody good at our English rugby game. Trouncing their opposition along the way. As the NZ rugby team was touring around the UK playing games the media kept calling us the All Blacks. It stuck with us, we adopted the name & to this day we retained it & kept it. The name AB's is world wide known now & made the All Blacks the best team in the world or one of the best the teams in the World or World beaters.

What I wouldn't give to see the All Blacks perform the Haka. Just a dream of this grandma from a small Nevada town. Thank you, All Blacks - you guys rock!
I’m not an Islander, Maori, or Samoan. I served in the Marine Corps. I have deep love and a profound and solid respect for anything that has to do with the Warrior Culture. The Haka makes me proud to be a Warrior. I feel it’s love, unity, and strength when I see it performed. It has saved me from a life of depression and anger. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Bless you, this was an honor to witness.
I'm from India but studied in Australia n when I was there I learnt a lil about Maori. Not lying, I would love to learn haka..it motivates me to a great extent, the energy I get just by watching people perform is incredible. Would love to go to NZ and learn it❤️
I am from PNG but every time I watch the Haka being performed, its like a spirtual experience. It touches the heart and soul. People from all other cultures must never disrespect the Haka.
Awesome!! I played against NZ a couple of times while wearing the US jersey. Unfortunately, the games were never deep enough in the tourney to face the Haka, but boy would I have loved to see it as a opponent.
My wife is Polynesian (Tongan AND Samoan). It makes me proud to be married to her and always learning something new about the culture everyday. Puts me in a humble mood every time I watch the Haka, or this video 🤘🏻🤘🏻💪🏻💪🏻🙏🏼🙌🏻
as an Australian professional Wrestler, greek/Spartan background and ancestry, I love the Haka and the new Zealand/Maori culture as it gives me power and goosebumps. its part of my pre match / gym ritual to listen to both Kamate & Kapa O Pango hakas to pump/hype me up and focus. beautiful & powerful element.
My name is Hona, I live in the shadow of the Kuia Pihanga, the Gateway to Okahukura, where the big maunga sit. Great great great great grandson of Te Wharerangi. Ka Mate is indeed composed by Te Rauparaha, but he does it in honor of the man that saves his life. The man, Te Wharerangi, or the hairy man that lived on Motu-a-Puhi on Rotoaira. These two men were enemies. not friends, but at the request of Mananui, Te Wharerangi places himself and his people in jeopardy in order to save Te Rauparaha. Te Raupataha is saved and climbs out of his temporary tomb, and honors Te Wharerangi. This korero is carved into the Poutokomanawa on the Wharepuni Okahukura, at Otukou. This is our story, the whanau of Te Wharerangi. Time has ignored us, but it has been carved in wood.
Tena koe .Ka nui te mihi ki a koe e te rangatira mo to korero. Kia mou ki nga korero a kui ma a koro ma hei maumahara te ao katoa i te hitori o tenei haka me te iwi o ngati toa rangatira. Mauri ora
@@absoledge This is the Hollywood version. My whanau hold the true korero as you might expect. Te Wharerangi differed from Maori around him in that his male line doesn't arrive here on waka from Taputapuatea. We are Manawhenua, people of Okahukura. Te Rauparaha's ancestors arrive on waka. Te Wharerangi is killed for saving Te Rauparaha in a revenge attack. This occurs so that the Government can steal our mountains in the future with the assistance of other waka Maori. For my whanau, this eventa is an injustice, and an offence.
Chur brother, My name is Tainui wineera. I am 1 of many wineeras who are straight decentants of terauparaha. He is my great great great great great grandfather. Without the help of te wharerangi our whanau and iwi would not be as it is today . Kiaora for that
I cannot respect your culture enough! I really loved your Kapa o Pango yesterday!! You guys are amazing!! To be honest, I didn't know about NZ well even though many of my friends have studied abroad there, but now I have a great interest in Māori culture!! I love how All Blacks emphasize the indigenous tradition!! Many respects from Japan 💖
My mum is unsporty and therefore reacts oddly when she sees me watching the haka. When I told her about the story, her respect and appreciation for the Mauri people and New Zealand just went through the roof 🇳🇿
Respect, The HAKA, is the vibe that people of ancient warriors and the rugby are fantastic for the skill's this people feroces un ancient times, and is a honour to all, beautiful never forgotten, U I am, here I come from!!!
Hats Off to ALL the Kiwis for how an indigenous ritual is shared with respect and pride. The equivalent does not exist here in Canada without fear of being accused of cultural appropriation and we avoid indigenous icons like the plague. As a result, I feel we all lose something. I hope we can overcome these barriers some day. We will all be richer for it.
I cant say for sure but if I had to guess there are well over a hundred different Haka, they all serve a different purpose and have different intentions. They also vary amongst different "iwi" or tribes. Some are welcoming, some are warnings, some are story based. They are very important in Maori culture.
I love it. I hope that the Haka remains in your minds and in the minds of generations after genetarions. Your blood are full of Haka, for strenght, of pride. Forever.
Fantastic images, superb editing and colorgrading, mate!!! And the explanation of the origin of the Haka is just sensational! The connection with your team mates but also with your culture and heritage when performing the Haka must be absolutely overwhelming and goes beyond words… I tear up almost every time when watching these videos, there is a Magic to it that just grabs your innermost and entire soul….and this comes from a guy living in Switzerland…🤣👍🏻😎😇 Thanks for the video and stay healthy y’all. Cheers Steven

Incredible what the Haka means to New Zealand and the Maori. Absolutely mind blowing. I felt touched when the ine gentleman in the video said that they're worried the Maori are lsojg their language and culture. Its absolutely saddening what the colonizers and europeans did to the world. We have a similar problem here in South Africa too. Its excruciatingly painful losing your true identity and self as a people because of the results of a savage bunch of people. I can't wait to watch the Kapa O Pango once more in the final next week when rugby greatest rivalry meets. All the best, Aotearoa.
I’m German (please excuse my English) and we watched a video of the haka being performed at the rugby World Cup in school yesterday and I was so amazed that I’m doing some research about the haka and the NZ culture while watching these videos I get goosebumps and I’m moved to tears it’s so beautiful and I can’t even really describe what it makes me feel it’s just breathtaking wow

Much love to you brother, and may you find balance, and your path find peace
Kina sandwich like wise brother. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Remember first seen the haka, tears came out straight away and I was even aware of it it’s just powerful and emotional
I am from PNG but every time I watch the Haka being performed, its like a spirtual experience. It touches the heart and soul. People from all other cultures must never disrespect the Haka.
I don't know what it is about the Haka but it makes me tear up every time I see one... It is so powerful.
Im a wallabies fan but the Haka gets me everytime!! Something about it that touches you on a deep emotional level.

As a Springbok fan this is truly amazing to truly understand the haka #respect
Shot bro😎You could also check out "meaning of haka beats by dre" if you wish
As a kiwi now living in Perth, this brought tears of pride to me. Thank you

Real men that don't kneel to victim-hood and at least strive for family honour and good values. I respect them for that alone. Kia ora from Australia.
I am a loyal fan of your team from Russia!
We love Hakka too! I wholeheartedly wish success to my favorite team from New Zealand!
Thank you for your compliment, take care, good health and blessings to you and Russia from Turanganui-a-Kiwa, Aotearoa [NZ]
My respects and love to the maori people of new zealand 🙏 all the way from Tamil Nadu, India.
as an Australian professional Wrestler, greek/Spartan background and ancestry, I love the Haka and the new Zealand/Maori culture as it gives me power and goosebumps. its part of my pre match / gym ritual to listen to both Kamate & Kapa O Pango hakas to pump/hype me up and focus. beautiful & powerful element.
Mauri ora
Hona Wikeepa is this a translation?
@@absoledge This is the Hollywood version. My whanau hold the true korero as you might expect. Te Wharerangi differed from Maori around him in that his male line doesn't arrive here on waka from Taputapuatea. We are Manawhenua, people of Okahukura. Te Rauparaha's ancestors arrive on waka. Te Wharerangi is killed for saving Te Rauparaha in a revenge attack. This occurs so that the Government can steal our mountains in the future with the assistance of other waka Maori. For my whanau, this eventa is an injustice, and an offence.
@@honawikeepa5813 Te Rauparahas Ngeri, He Oranga, holds the korero. You know that my bro?
Chur brother, My name is Tainui wineera. I am 1 of many wineeras who are straight decentants of terauparaha. He is my great great great great great grandfather. Without the help of te wharerangi our whanau and iwi would not be as it is today . Kiaora for that
Feel blood pressure goes up watching allblacks do the haka. Proud living in beautiful aotearoa where this culture exists.
@nga puhi haha I got my bulldog already, but thanks

Take care Giorgi from Georgia, and blessings to you all, awesome the Kiwi coach is a good person from Aotearoa [NZ]
Amazing, beautiful, you cannot help but be inspired and stirred by the Haka, we could and should learn so much from these amazing cultures.
Much love fams
All Blacks v Springboks - 21 September. We love playing the All Blacks. Much respect. See you on the field.
I am Japanese. It was ignorant that such an idea was put in the all black haka. I loved it more and more
I cant say for sure but if I had to guess there are well over a hundred different Haka, they all serve a different purpose and have different intentions. They also vary amongst different "iwi" or tribes.
Some are welcoming, some are warnings, some are story based. They are very important in Maori culture.
@@joshin4127 As a Māori myself, you are 100% correct. You clearly did bit of research taku hoa (my friend)
I'm Cherokee Indian, and I love the HAKA, ITS SO POWERFUL.
An irishman with goosebumps to finally get a sense of what the haka truely means
Who else is excited for the rugby world cup
Respect from beautiful NZ 💕

I love it. I hope that the Haka remains in your minds and in the minds of generations after genetarions. Your blood are full of Haka, for strenght, of pride. Forever.
I have no words, literally, this got me chills. I'm in love with the Maori culture.
Fantastic images, superb editing and colorgrading, mate!!!
And the explanation of the origin of the Haka is just sensational!
The connection with your team mates but also with your culture and heritage when performing the Haka must be absolutely overwhelming and goes beyond words… I tear up almost every time when watching these videos, there is a Magic to it that just grabs your innermost and entire soul….and this comes from a guy living in Switzerland…🤣👍🏻😎😇
Thanks for the video and stay healthy y’all.
Cheers
Steven
Honors and glory at the awesome people of NZ and maximum respect of Haka👏👍🙏💪
Thank you Italy, I know our people [yours and mine] had a great friendship, connection and respect toward each other in WW2, I know with some families it still exists and therefore honour and glory to you and your country also. From Aotearoa [NZ]
It’s so amazing makes you wish you was from there such brotherhood sometimes overwhelming to watch🙏🏼
Big respect from Istanbul Turkey. Our KIWI AND ANZAC BROTHERS!
Much love to the people of the great nation of Turkey, from a Maori here in New Zealand.
I’m soo impressed and and amazed of all that we do that comes from Natives and our history !! It’s very touching and amazing ❤️
Inspiring isn't it, culturally enhancing, spiritual powerful. Best wishes to our team KIA KAHA!!
Some traditions die.. some traditions live. They live long and proud. This tradition is inspiring.
Amazing...
I love rugby. ALL BLACKS is very strong.
I am looking forward this weekend!!!
From Japan 🇯🇵
I’m German (please excuse my English) and we watched a video of the haka being performed at the rugby World Cup in school yesterday and I was so amazed that I’m doing some research about the haka and the NZ culture while watching these videos I get goosebumps and I’m moved to tears it’s so beautiful and I can’t even really describe what it makes me feel it’s just breathtaking wow
Back not so long ago, all people were us, maybe not exactly but we were all great tribal people, who were in tune with the world and all it's life force within everything.
Well said 👍👍 Cinematically id liken Maori culture to Avatars 🤷♀️ the movie 🎥 ( James Cameron) the blue people lol 😆
So beautiful! I'm jicarilla apache and this is AMAZING. I've always fallen in love with the Polynesian culture and especially the Haka and the real meaning.
