  • Dawn's Highway, Intro by Frank Lisciandro, April 1969 - Conversation at the HWY Office between Jim Morrison, Paul Ferrara, Babe Hill, and Frank Lisciandro after filming the coyote scene earlier that day. Jim tells his story of Dawn's Highway.
(Re-upload, added Frank Lisciandro's interview on Dawn's Highway)
Imagine; Jim and his friends at his HWY office, Pam downstairs busy with broken mirrors to decorate her Themis boutique, and a Shelby GT500 parked in front of it all... • Pamela Courson's Themi...
    Dawn's Highway
Indians scattered on dawn's highway bleeding
Ghosts crowd the young child's fragile eggshell mind.
Me and my ah mother and father - and a
Grandmother and a grandfather - were driving through
The desert, at dawn, and a truck load of Indian
Workers had either hit another car, or just - I don't
Know what happened - but there were Indians scattered
All over the highway, bleeding to death.
So the car pulls up and stops. That was the first time I tasted fear.
I musta' been about four - like a child is like a flower,
His head is just floating in the breeze, man.
The reaction I get now thinking about it, looking back
Is that the souls of the ghosts of those dead Indians
Maybe one or two of 'em, were just running around freaking out,
And just leaped into my soul.
    And they're still in there.
Indians scattered on dawn's highway bleeding
Ghosts crowd the young child's fragile eggshell mind.
Blood in the streets in the town of New Haven
Blood stains the roofs and the palm trees of Venice
Blood in my love in the terrible summer
Bloody red sun of fantastic L.A.
Blood screams her brain as they chop off her fingers
Blood will be born in the birth if a nation
Blood is the rose of mysterious union
Blood on the rise, it's following me.
Indian, Indian what did you die for?
    Indian says, nothing at all.

I’m 76 and am glad I’m still alive to hear this video. Saw the Doors and will never forget them. Thank you. They played in our State College gym. Saw the concert and it seemed like a play a musical drama. Thank you great channel.

I would have had a hard time back then hearing the word 'man' every second sentence.

Usually when someone says "do you when the first time I discovered death" the floor is yours at that point, lol

“The Dutch Guy” has truly outstanding content on Jim Morrison and the Doors. A true historian on the man and the band

Great video! Is it where it's at, or is it nothing. My two cents - look at the immense size of the universe. There are possibly two trillion galaxies in the universe. One of those, Our Milky Way galaxy has 100 billion stars. Each star typically has at least one planet. The chances of life existing on other planets in the universe seems better than zero. It seems too big & complex for only one incarnation. What if death results in reanimation in some distant place - and death there could result in the same here? I would sure like to see Jim's reaction to that question.
