I am so glad I searched for Bill Siddons and found this interview with his first hand account of events surrounding Jim's death and his visit to Paris. It helps explain some things I wondered about. Good job, Mark.

Huge THE DOORS fan! I met Bill Siddons in Long Beach California at a OZOMATLI concert who he manages. Nice guy, I asked Bill a few questions about THE DOORS and he was nice enough to answer my geek questions. Good interview Mark, Thank you!

I was an au pair from Denmark in Westport Ct, in 1967 and 68, I was dating a Westport native, who was a student at University of Miami. We dated for a couple of summers when he would come back to Westport from Miami. About 10 years ago I found his website, he had become a fairly famous cinematographer, turns out as a student in Miami he went to the famed Doors concert and took many pictures, he was just an ameteour photographer then. However, one of his pictures ended up in the book "No one gets out of here alive", he was also a witness at the Jim's trial, and according to the transcripts he didn't think Jim exposed himself.

By now, I think we can collectively agree that Jim did not expose himself. Thousands of photographs were taken, and not one shows him exposing himself. If someone was going to take a photo of anything, wouldn't it have been that? Also, the reliable sources who were actually there that evening all say he did not expose himself. Seems like basic math to me.

Very surprised that Bill hasn't written a behind the scenes book about his time with the Doors. Have to believe that he was approached but turned it down.

I have loved The Doors, since 1967 when they first became popular. I have read a few books about them, John Densmore's book, and also "No one gets out of here alive". It seems most band have some kind of conflict because the members have different ideas of what they want to do. I just read a couple of books about The Band, they too had conflicts. although they were together much longer than The Doors.

Bill Siddons. A man who was there, and no pun intended, literally knows where "the bodieS are buried"! But if I had one question to ask Bill it would be this. To this day does he regret not actually seeing Jim in his coffin? Not that it matters now.I remember the late great Jim Ladd asking this exact question in a radio innerview '79.To which Bill said he saw the sadness in Pam's eyes and he didn't need to see inside the coffin. Also at the time he added he had just buried his father, (his words not mine) so was in no mood to look at Jim's body.Such a shame Frank Lisciandro and friends didn't make the movie. Probably wouldn't have had the backing, but it would have been a more honest portrayal of Jim, than Stone's depiction. That went for the sensationalism.Or as Bill called the persona "the asshole".Robbie also wrote "Touch Me".Excellent insightful interview.Could listen to Bill for hours!! Thanks for sharing.

I saw a UA-cam video of Elayne Boozler getting interviewed by Andy Kaufman, looked her bio up and saw the name,"Bill Siddons". I said,"that name looks familiar." Blew me away she married Bill Siddons.

    -Worst manager of all time.
    Too immature.
    Didn't take actions in Miami.
Didn't see Jim's body in Paris.

I sent Bill a tape of my song,"More than ever" and he wrote back after listening to 'not bad at all's. Ringo. Put out a song titled "Weight of the world" that sounds very very very much like my aforementioned song.Im going to run both tunes by my entertainment lawyer.
