Would adding a "fireman" seat on the trains help with ownership.. I noticed that when u and Hyce where dual heading I didn't see that issue
Also I picked up the game cuz I couldn't help myself and it was the best Robux I ever spent 🤣 (have only ever played Roblox for this game).. I love it and can't wait to see more

Greg's doing a fantastic job with this, looking forwards to seeing more! But the whistles... I can appreciate that they are accurate, but between this and DV's 0-6-0 yesterday, I feel like I need to go watch the custom 6-chime video again to hear something at isn't sadness.

and schieberkasten stands for the kasten (box) that shiben (pushes) something around
so the direct translation is "pusher box"
_Schieberkasten_ can also be the box/container containing one or more _Schieber._
_Schieber_ has multiple meanings, but here it refers to a (slide) valve, with the sliding part being the _Schieber._
So the _Schieberkasten_ is the valve chest.
Programming-wise, the issue with riding on other players trains seems to be the result of how roblox handles "Network Ownership" which is how Roblox distributes the workload of handling physics between the server and the clients in the server.
Clients usually handle the physics of objects nearest to them so it seems by standing on the rear end of the train, Roblox wants to give your computer the task of handling the physics while KAN's computer is doing the front of the train, which is likely causing the derailing.
So it might be better if you want to ride together to be near or right next to each other, but thats just a theory.

I recently took your advice and found a volunteer opportunity at the Route 66 Historical Village, currently waiting for an email with info. This will be my first time volunteering for anything trains. The village is a really neat place. They have an oil Derrick with some equipment, a replica Route 66 service station, and Frisco 4500 (a big ol 4-8-4) displayed with a passenger car from a short line nearby and a couple other cars. Real neat place to visit if you are in the Tulsa area.
Please do more of this, since RO! are rubbing Hyce and kAN in an atrocious way.

Also the 1A1 is UIC notation for wheel arrangement. (2-2-2=1A1, Pacific 4-6-2 whould be 2C1 for example, there are also lowercase letters at the end like h for superheat)

After watching you and Greg do a run through, seeing you and kAN actually put it into practice is fantastic. (Even if they are baby choochs, the QOL is lovely)
I will have to admit that I was one of the people saying that Roblox is a kids game. However your videos on steam and steel have made me feel sad about the current steam train games available. I asked this on kAN's video earlier. Unless Hyce and kAN got free access to this map in Roblox, they had enough robux to buy access to the map but didn't bother getting more realistic avatars. There are many creations and outfit configurations that are free for both "blocky" and "rthro" characters.
I love Steam and Steel, I am going to watch it closely, I just skeptical about Roblox because I don't really like the company behind it.
That behind said, Greg you're doing great with Steam and Steel and I hope development of your stuff goes smooth.

Also, it sounds like another train-game UA-camr, Kerbo, is starting to take an interest based on kAN's video. He's the one who first got me interested in RO, and by extension your channel. I wonder if we could get a triple header episode for Steam and Steel? You, kAN, and Kerbo? Maybe not as a regular thing (that sounds hard to coordinate filming), but at least one episode would be cool!

Ok, I was hoping to post this on a railroads video because that was where this topic came up, but I'm not sure if you are still making videos on railroads. You had told Kan that having the wheel running in reverse while moving the train forward was not realistic or pretty much impossible to do. In standard practice sure, but there is an old western movie about the Denver & Rio Grande railroad and multiple times in the movie they were driving steam locomotives like nobody's business. Part of this was when they came screaming to a halt outside a waypoint station along the route, and they had the 2-8-0 in full blowing fast rotation in reverse. In that same western they also collided two steam locomotives head-on with 3-4 cars and a caboose on each.
Having been a on roblox for seven years now, I can say this is the most realistic train sim in roblox for sure. Even things like the reverser works correctly

I suggest playing the Rails of DG County, its got a good selection of narrow gauge engines and has an up and coming revamp for the map
Quick tip on picking cars around using your avatar, go first person and walk sideways into the front or back of the car to prevent your character from walking up onto the car.

Hey! if I understood correctly, "Schieberkasten" translates to something like "box of the pusher" or "pusherbox" while "kesseldruck" is just the pressure in the "kessel", or kettel/chamber in english :)
That locomotive reminds me of the "john bull" replica at the nation RR museam of PA in strasburg.

All I want to know is if we'll have any caboose racing or railroad olympics in this. For all of RO's faults, those are some of the best episodes I've seen on this channel.
