@@pat4879 ay i tried to respond before but i did a bad job explaining myself so i deleted it & im re-wording - hello! this song is not in any way whatsoever about meth lol, i've never even heard 'strawberry(ies)' as slang for meth - not even on tv, or movies or books or on erowid or online - and especially not in person or among any drug users & dealers i've ever known - also fwiw i dont do / have never done meth & think it's disgusting and really dont want this record to be associated w/ that idea at all or anything like that - it makes me feel really gross to imagine that - hence why i even wanted to clear up this misconception - normally i have a very firm rule to 1. accept & 100% respect anyones interpretation of my music (within reason! if i ever saw anything like super awful like, shit being appropriated by alt right ppl or used by trump campaign or etc i would literally send 10,000 lawyers after them lol) as the artists own interpretation is only a road map so to speak & not the destination itself & 2. never respond to youtube comments no matter how mean lol . but yeah i really just wanted to set this particular record straight, since this album is so special to me (to the point i had trouble even releasing it, and refused to take any $ or advance or record deal for it - instead making sure i got to distribute it as much on my own terms as possible so it would still remain as special as it could despite being publicly available) - its undoubtedly the brightest, most joyous, full-spectrum-emotionally-upbeat (even when it's trafficking in tragedies & anxieties & losses) of any work i've ever done, and the least related to drugs at all - let alone meth, something i've never written about, experienced, or even been surrounded by really at all (baltimore, famously, is a heroin town lol) thank you for listening though & i do hope this clears this up for you both & anyone else who might ever come across this comment or (Very bad/false) idea/narrative ..
