Great memories of my childhood holidays at Weymouth with mum And dad.
.I remember a train used to run by the harbour .
Thanks for video I really enjoyed it hope you feeling ok keep safe and warm hope you got your coffee God bless
Very well planned and shown.
I went to Weymouth for a day out with my best friend and we had a wonderful time and had a bus ride to porting bill and it was fantastic ride and we came down by train cause the train station not far from the beach is very nice and the water thanks
good channel👍
Watching this again, you turned right off the river and entered an area with small shops then turned right back to the beach. However if you had turned left you would have gone thru narrow maze of streets to the harbour. Turning right and walking eastwards you would have encountered gardens sloping down to the beach and on the other left hand side a large country park area with boats, aquarium. Further on a lagoon.....on the opposite side of the river is a fort and gardens, narrow streets, museum and brewery and some small B & Bs...
Lovely again. We were there 4 years ago picking up a big lathe via Dorchester where we did most of the day and then on to Abbotsbury where we enjoyed the beach. This is a SERIOUS BEACH and all of pebbles stretches from Weymouth 15 miles towards West Bay. Did a circuit of the town and found the lathes owner. Bunged in the car and home to Reading slowly via a Chinese Takeaway of course. D and L.
Oh wow! So lovely to see Weymouth in the winter. I was there back in August for the first time and funnily enough started editing my vlog from a bright sunny August day there this morning to put on my channel on Sunday.
I just scratched the very surface of it and can not wait to return. I really enjoy all your videos, particularly the South West England ones recently.
Nice to see you arrived then?!!😍
Just wanted to say thanks Neil some of your latest videos are places I've been with my mum so brings back so many happy memories
Quiet and calm
Looks good there
I love Weymouth . We use to come down here at the weekends to work in the kabab shops
Really quite a beautiful harbor…like small communities best, but of the large ones thus one is exceptional!
Uh...Mr. Seagull thought you had some food ! He looked sad...😂🤣 Anyway...Great walk again 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
We went to Weymouth about 22 years ago but stayed in the old lighthouse on Portland bill. We’ve recently been talking about going back there so was nice to see this video today, thank you
I find it amusing that North Parade and North Quay are on the SOUTH side of the harbour!
Is the sand sculpture man still there? Lovely Weymouth. Happy memories. Great video
Yes he is still there in a large purpose built shell shaped building on the sand. A view of the building is straight ahead as the camera moved onto the beach, where Bernard, an engineer friend of mine, is repairing the railings for the coming season.
Another lovely video, thank you. The weird structure on the beach houses sand sculpture exhibitions (at least it did when I visited!)
Just got back from there last Friday, we normally go there 4 or 5 times a year, it’s great.
Bet it get very cold in the winter. Brrrrrt🙏❤️
Yes very!
You should come to Harwich / Dovercourt. Steeped in history, pretty harbour, lovely beach and a pair of Victorian lighthouses!
I enjoyed what I saw and I know you have cut a lot of content but it would have been nice to walk into town, what we saw was only a few outer side streets, and timed right the harbour bridge going up (several times a day) thank you😍
What a fantastic video.. have been to Weymouth briefly before bit never seen all of this.. just stunning..
Beautiful Weymouth.Great Town centre. That thing on the beach looks alien, probably landed the night before looking to take over.😂
ha ha yes!! The aliens are coming!
So enjoyed this video of Weymouth with its Georgian architecture, beach and history. This was my first posting in 1975 when I joined Dorset Police (in January as well!). Some good memories of that time and the town doesn't appear to have changed that much or lost its charm. I wonder if the old Police cells are still under the Guildhall?! A good spot for a warm up on a winter Sunday early turn! Thanks again 👍
you should of checked out the dome on the beach were they do the sand sculptures there lovely
I love a good Weymouth video. I get my drone out and do my videos from the sky :-) But it's always nice to see others videos of my town too.
I was there when the train used to run along the road there
The beach is on the Melcombe Regis side and Weymouth was on the same side as the lifeboat station, now all one place.
Just to add it’s the most dog friendly place I have ever known
ou never mentioned the Weymouth Quay Tramway which used to take trains from Waterloo direct to Weymouth Marine Station ( probably where the Pavilion is now ) . The trains used to run along the Quay side where you started your walk, One problem was cars parked in the way of the trains, despite the notices warning Trains run along here. I travelled on it twice, once with a main line loco ( Class 33 ) direct from Waterloo, and once with a Class 03 shunter, having changed locos at Weymouth, There are lots of videos on UTube showing it use, It ran fron 1865 till Sept 1999 when the last train ran over it.
Pleasure pier ,walk to the end and fall off 😆
🤣
Hello everybody I am glad you have done Weymouth I love Weymouth it is my favourite place on the Isle of Wight I love them you should do the Isle of Wight next keep the good work take care peace and love xx
Caption at 4:35 should be Nothe Parade, not North Parade. The Nothe and its fort are famous parts of Weymouth.
I live there
Before the death barge arrived and changed everything here...
Is Dennis "Pee Wee" Givans the mayor of Dorset ?
Not sure
just been bombarded with 1000 illegal immigrants in hotels and a barge boat probz wont be safe anymore. such a shame beautiful place
