Man I lost my place to live and had a few hours to pack. Outfitted a. JEEP CHEROKEE lived in it for 2 1/2 years. I had food, lived at beaches in San Diego and coastal. I got a membership at ymca n swam everyday! Some nights hard. Couch surfed. Was wild. Now I have apt, steady job working 3 days a week. I miss my Jeep life.
That sounds lovely
An excellent video. This is very practical and humble guy. I love how he made his surrounding fit his needs and keeping what he uses. Amazing.
Functionality is all you need.
Good to see people interacting with locals in the towns they visit.
this is much better than all these van millionaiers with their 100k vans. at that point they may as well buy a house LOL.
Really nice setup. I’ve been a “lurker” too 😁. I’ve been watching van life, nomad videos for as long as i can remember. Easily 15 yrs. In the last 8 yrs it’s become a doable want vrs a just being a curiosity. My exwife and I separated, and divorced. I’m still pretty anchored here with my family and job. I’m a paramedic. So lots of job security. I actually make really good money, especially for the schedule I work. I got into debt when I was out of work for almost 11 months due to COVID. My father died of dementia and COPD complications almost a year ago, but I’m still here for my mom and my daughter. In the next 3 weeks I’m leaving the house I’ve lived in for the last 13 yrs. Really a weird feeling. I’ve lived in my travel trailer for over 6 months during the separation and trying to work things out. I remember feeling better in a smaller place. I remember being healthier, after I toned the drinking down. I’m looking forward to moving the trailer on a small pc of property for a much cheaper rent, until I’m squared away debt-wise and can buy my own property in the next yr , yr and a half. During that time I’ll be buying a plug and play 10kW solar system, and I’m going to finish up my Suburban for overlanding, and my Ford with a camper for more long term adventuring. Again, nice setup, thank you for the video.
Sorry for your loss on your dad 😢 but hey I believe you can do it now it's the time to think in you and what you really want, sounds like you have always looked after others, so it's your time ❤ you deserve to be able to do what you want and go where you want to go, follow your dreams ❤ good vibes to you😊
I love it ad I wish I could do it I love it good vibes too you and 🎉👏❤️🫶☮️

Sounds like ur on a new path, a different adventure.
Love to see ur build progress.
Hello brother, sorry for all pain form losing papa. Life is harsh,at first giving us life, later taking it away. Hold on to that dream,I'm like you watching, wishing and planning. I'm waiting on my money and I'm taking the step to full time van life. 25 years driving semis I'm used to small spaces, happier with less. Good luck and GOD bless you.
"I did it myself because I didn't want to be like hey look at my fancy microwave, by the way look at my fancy microwave"
Very nice build love it.
First time I’ve ever seen the microwave in the door like that. Great idea!
Great bed💯 Lovely wood cladding. 👌
Thank you!
Really inspiring to adopt this nomadic lifestyle and you have a nice cozy setup. Safety's one of my greatest concern and you gave some sound advice.
He has really thought it all out. Very nice.
Home Sweet Home ! Be Happy Be Free Enjoy Solo Van Life. Thank You for posting
i really like this van and this guy’s attitude and humor. i am still chuckling about the lingering smell of sheep ❤
Hi Stefan! I thoroughly enjoyed your video and your van build. I am retired military and have been a very happy van lifer since September 2021. I am almost 77, and I figure I should be able to continue the nomadic life for at least three to five years, hopefully longer. I bought a 2019 GMC Savana with 15K miles in 2021 and have compiled almost 30K miles traveling and exploring. All I did for my DIY "build" was move my man cave from my house into my van and it's very comfortable for me. I have everything I need. Anyway, I hope to meet you on the road some day. I will check out your You Tube channel. Stay safe out there. 😊
Hello, thank you! Hope to see you one the road!
You did a Great Job ‼️ Enjoy the Adventure 👏👏👏
smart humble dude with good attitude
I really like this guy and his thought process
Nice I love the snap covers on the windows. Dont leave hatchet and tools on top outside of van.Somebody can get them and break in. Better to leave tools inside under bed. The van is nice.
That was my reaction to seeing the hatchet too. Hide it! 😉
I like how simple and flexible his setup is.
I'm 6'3" and the first thing that comes to mind is always headroom, but you actually opened my eyes with the way you presented the sitting arrangement.
I love his setup but more importantly his advice of starting with your car first. No need to go into debt for these 300,000$ vans
I agree with your idea of making your van look like a camper. People are surprised when they try to look stealth and get broken into by thieves looking for a van filled with expensive work tools. I think they might not try if they think someone is in there.
Greetings from Redondo Beach 🇺🇸 Nice camper van. Good work on this video. Cheers 🥂
Wow Stefan, what a lovely home. Lovin' your sense of humour too!! Bloody brilliant van tour. Thank you 😁
Thank you!
Nice set up sir, your accent is awesome as well!!!
You seem like a cool dude,Ill buy you a beer if i run across you on the road
Thank you for sharing. The video was very nice. I enjoyed it.👍
Great Van Tour!
I've been following his channel for a while and I'm always happy to find a new video! He always provides Great content!
Great rig and philosophy!
Nice job on the window treatments, from an industrial seamstress. Very nice job.
I love the look of your curtains, could you please give more details of the snap locks and how the curtains manage to stay in place and how they are sewn. Maybe I need to talk to your wonderful mun :)
Hi, Stefan Here! So I have dedicated videos on my channel about how I built a lot of what you see here, including a window covers video!
Something to consider fo additional cooking options. Check out electric fry pans. They are available in various sizes, from a small 6 inch electric fry pan to larger sizes. A 6 inch electric fry pan could be great for quick and easy frying needs, like frying up some sausage links or patties, fried or scrambled eggs for breakfast, or a hamburger for dinner or lunch. It doesn't/wouldn't take up a lot of storage space. Just an idea so you wouldn't have to pull out your large skillet. Either way, you seem to be very content/happy in your life, i.e. lifestyle. So good luck in your travels.
This was one of the best videos I have seen in the last 2 years!
Enchanted! ty for the look into ur lifestyle
It's so crazy in this country people have to find ways to survive paying rent is ridiculous how high it has become and yet they allow all these people to come here give them money and food stamps while Americans are living in their vehicles this is a disgrace not for the people but for who we have running our country and let's not forget food what a shame.
FJB
How to miss the point
We've had the technology and ideas to feed, clothe, shelter, and educate everyone on the planet, for free, for the past 200 years. We insist against using our technology to its full capacity. If there is a social problem and money can't be made from solving that problem, then it doesn't get solved. Gotta love how dumb humans are.
Thanks for the tour, safe travels Stefan!
Thank for a good a video and film, description, layout of this
I love this van & overview, & I really like that Stephan pointed out some of the realities of vanlife.👍🏻🇨🇦
Great Job. I have that identical van. No build yet. You helped.
Its okay you dont need 4x4. Justt get a locking Dif for the rear and a winch for the front. And your good. Maybe some bigger tires too.
Enjoyed your video and impressed with your van build. Thanks for sharing.
Nice set-up! Beau en masse!
Good that the van is a light color. Easier to keep cool in the summer.
Truly what you done is really simple & good sitting , love it & it’s inspired me to do so my future van 🎉❤❤
This creation is awesome...it could be my home.
Great set up
Great set up and handsome as well.
Thanks Forrest & Christian: Good, through van tour. 👍 Rock on 🙂.
Thanks, I edited this one, but thank Christian for shooting the tour! He's a fantastic filmmaker.
Nicely outfitted!
Lesson for everyone out there living in vehicles. Stuff dryer sheets in your clothing drawers, storage, under seats, etc. You will thank me later.
I have those USB-chargeable lights in my bedroom & front hall closets. Mine have motion sensors. I love them, & they are bright.
I subscribed right away when you said you lived in New York… and I’m now thinking of doing it
Nice inside. Neat classy looking. You did get a very good deal!
you summed it up pretty good... go and try it, see if you like it. ive camped all my life with my parents well when i was young and i loved it. i bought a van and am working on it to be as comfortable as i can make it yet give me what i need. i want to be able to just get away from life, even if it just for a weekend and enjoy things around me. this build is kinda a prototype to help me figure out what i need, want and should have. eventually i want to get something a little bigger and make it so i can hit the road, explore this country and feel relaxed knowing i can live how i want to live. thanks for the video.
Good luck. I hope that your plans work out for you🤞🍀
Great set up ❤
What is the connection you have set up on your rear view mirror? I want it! - oh yeah!!
My brother's van, an E350 extended [former] passenger van, is used for transporting show inventory & tables.
After several years of sleeping/living in it at the shows, I am planning to build it out to be more comfy when it's not being used for work, yet flexible enough to continue with transporting inventory.
Many of your implementations are of interest, especially the orange crates, which are sturdy but can still breathe and can still allow an idea of what's inside them. Great idea!
I noticed quite a bit of leather work -- are you a SCAdian?
Thanks for the tour =;^)
Beautiful van
Most excellent.
Love ur setup!
Very beautiful and simple and im new to your channel be safe
Well done .
great job forest.
Great van 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That’s an interesting water setup. I definitely wouldn’t want to drag water up and into any vehicle. So I’m thinking of another way to make it less cumbersome. I reckon it could be done by cutting an outlet similar to the petrol tank and just as discrete looking. Add a shut off valve so it never overflows inside. I may try something like that for my own future setup. This was a great way to unselfishly share and teach others and who are looking to do the same as you and many others are using to do. Extremely grateful. This is what freedom is all about…
That's a nice build bud.
🌴❤️🚐❤️🌴
Nice video thanks!!
Greatings out of Spain.
Jan E. ❤️❤️
Very nice ❤
I have a 2002 Ford e150 so I'm getting ideas from you thanks
This is probably my future.
I bought a 2001 GMC Savana passenger van 2-3 years ago that had 85k miles on it. Added some solar, a bed, max air fan, tow hitch and carrier basket on the back. Still haven’t committed to hitting the road bc I am worried about finances 😅. I need to figure that out
Good luck. I hope that things work out the way you need them to🤞🍀
I'm in Illinois usa avacad9s are expensive. When on sale not rip I found putting them in paper bag and putting them in a dark place gets them rip in a day or two. Enjoy
Adore you. Cute. Nice van. . Enjoy you❤
Crazy that that E350 still gets better mileage than my 6 Inline 3FE Landcruiser engine
NICE!!!👠🚌👠
I like Stephan and follow him.
Hello beautiful lady. Havent commented in a long time. I've been watching since u started. And I just want to say. " LOVE the hair color!" Always love hanging out w/ u . ONLINE. lol.
What lady, what hair color? Didn't see a lady in this video.
cool beans brother
I'm wondering how to keep van at certain temperature at all times to keep equipment and produce. Also considering my energy and decided to shoot for a 48 volt when I start building my battery system because I heard that is safer because of less wires. I got the van now I got to get on the road
I got a van in November and it already had an inverter and battery… but I have no idea how to use it… how do I charge the battery and do I need it to run the inverter and how long would it last power wise? And do I have to find a microwave that’s 12v? Or anything electric have to be 12v or less?? I went camping one night and just used propane heater with the window cracked cause I didn’t know how to use all that. Another time a guy plugged is generator to my shore power hook out outside the van and I was able to use my small electric heater for a while but it pulled a lot from there camper
I have a Nissan NV3500 passenger van that I converted. Did you keep your rear air conditioning and heat unit?
👍🏼🌲🎥
👍🏾🌲📷
👍🌳🎥
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
How can I get on your channel?
What did he say at 21:15
So if someone comes in his van he hit them with a fryinpan?
Cool van. But I dont see the reason to buy a van for vanlife. Easier to buy an RV since they ait much higher in price and they are ready to move into and has a WC/shower.
Also he takes a dump in the middle of his van so dont go in there, that paper hanging there is most likley paper from toilet with crap on it.
Do you work?
He dosent sleep like a pencil ok good to know. Maby he scream all he can until he passes out and that how he go to sleep.
Van life seems unsafe in US where vandalism/breakins are common
How does he have everything he needs in life if his 2-wheel drive turns into a 1-wheel drive and he gets stuck. I think this title of this video needs to be changed... maybe to "HELP!"
wow. sleeping next to the open batteries. hopefully the bed doesn't crack & hit the positive connection & set the van on fire. a health & safety risk & very messy. unfortunately, too many #vancityvanlife copy cats.
Think about bug screen or bug prevention curtain for the back and side door openings and maybe a little awning or temporary tiny tent to shade or to prevent rain from coming in when you want the doors to be kept open . Anyway, awesome van..
