Usually people on youtube channels annoy me, but you genuinely seem like a real, nice, down to earth, cool person. You're doing good so far. Engaging, passionate and relaxed. I'm looking forward to your future videos. I've just started painting digitally, so I think you might be my sensei.
hey! i have ADHD and i normally find myself skimming and speeding up through every video i watch, but this was honestly the first time in a while that i've been able to watch a video back to back :) i love your personality, the way you describe your process, and what you can create, it's stunning. thank you for making this :)
OH BOY! The face behind the art! Had no idea the way you looked man, it´s great that u opened a channel with tutorials and talking about your processes, I am so charmed, you made this video feel like you were talking to close friends. Looking forward to the next ones! 💪🏼
Thank you so much for your brush packs! I have had a rollercoaster of a year that began with major spine surgery last April that caused some nerve damage that still has not healed. The nerve damage makes sitting at my desk or easel a lot harder to do for long periods of time, so I’ve spent a lot of time figuring out how to most easily make art when my nerve pain acts up and I’m stuck in bed or a reclining chair. I’ve painted in traditional watercolors my whole life, and it’s a medium I really love working in, so when I went looking for more realistic watercolor brushes to use in procreate, yours were the first (and best!) that I found and bought. After trying them I bought a few more of your brush packs within the next few days and weeks and I love them all. They helped me get excited about doing art again after a artistically difficult year for me and I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the awesome brushes you make, and I really love them! I also loved seeing how you use them in this video! It’s great to see you on this channel and even if it’s out of your comfort zone, you did great and I hope you will continue to post more videos like this. Stay healthy!
Nora Allsup Gardner Art This is the nicest comment I've gotten in a long time. Thank you so much. I hope you're feeling better by the day. I'm so impressed with your motivation to keep working and being creative despite hard circumstances. I've had health challenges in the past and it can be hard to stay productive. It means a lot to me to have been able to help in some small way. Stay strong 💪 💙
You have demonstrated to me that Procreate is not just some toy for doodling cartoons but you can do very organic art that doesn’t look digital. You have a calm/soothing approach to explaining what you are doing and I instantly like you as a person even though I don’t know you. I would love to see you demonstrate other genres of art like cubism and how you can create them specifically in Procreate. Keep up the great work
I bought your watercolor and the painter packs yesterday, and OMG I'm sooo excited! I think this brushes are the best Procreate brushes I've ever seen!!!
You seen so genuine! I’ve heard so much about your brush packs. I’m sure I’m late to the game but I’m excited about it! Thanks for the amazing tutorial, looks great!
This is great! I’d love to see a live session, with a camera positioned over a tablet, so we have more of a view of what you’re actually doing on the screen. And you can talk live about the choices you’re making, and take mini breaks to answer some questions. I could easily spend a chunk of time, absorbing all of that. 🙂
I know this video is 2 years old, but I just found it and downloaded the brushes. I’m a traditional watercolor artist and I’m really looking forward to trying digital.
"Your work is truly beautiful, and I really enjoy this video and drawing. Please create more of these. I especially love your set of Procreate brushes. Thank you so much for making these amazing collections.
Would you ever make a video like this where you also video tape your hands while you sketch and work? I find its helpful to me to see how artists hold their pencils and how to observe the movements they make while creating their art. I have tried hard to do hatching on procreate with pencils like your and it always comes out odd looking. I'm working if maybe I am holding my pencil oddly or maybe not giving enough pressure or putting too much pressure?
Well, now you have 132K followers on IG. I just found you and I"m really glad I did. All the posts seem to be almost a year old + so I hope you're still doing videos. One reason I am loving your videos is that you teach/comment/ discuss art in general and techniques that are basic as well as advanced that can be used in digital as well as physical art. I love to learn and you bring some very unique and gorgeous work to the table! Thank you, now I'm going to go buy your brushes.
This video was handled so well. The commentary was exactly what people want to hear from artists about their process. Even if every video was like this with a different character, I’d watch every one.
Cool Illustration, drawing from real life opens your creativity, thank you for showing us how to paint using watercolor on procreate, I’m going to try it

YES! What a great tutorial! I was painting along and it took me forever to get through this 15 minutes because I kept rewinding to hear your knowledge. I learned so many thing, FINGER TOUCH SET TO SMUDGE?! The attributes of each MaxPack brush, smudge, and eraser. You have a great personality, and flow. High quality production, music and style. I can't wait to see more. Thanks for allowing me to paint in watercolor even when I don't feel like getting my water pot filled. Congratulations on all your success! You deserve it!
Looked you up and you did great... on this 4 years ago. I'll check out your others since. Hopefully run into you at Lightbox, Friday. Thanks for sharing your work and your brushes!

I like the discussion part at the end of the video and the idea of meeting people of similar interests, a community. Thanks for sharing. Hope to get to know you better.
is it weird that watching this made me emotional? it's so lovely and comforting watching you work and seeing the way you captured that strangers patience and kindness in the fold his hands and his little smile. thank you for this video
Thank you for making this video! I am relatively new to digital art and being a traditional watercolor and gouache artist I was looking for a way to bring the look of traditional media to digital art for book illustrations and animation. I discovered your brushes through another artist and had been toying with the idea of buying the watercolor pack and this video convinced me!
Fascinating how many people I’ve seen use your watercolor pack so differently! I’ve been using it since that night it came out and have followed a couple other peoples tutorials on it too. It all always comes out so good.
Apoostrophe thanks! Yeah there are so many ways to use these. This is a fairly "standard" way to use them in my opinion. Kind of a clean and simple classic look. But it's by no means authoritative or the only way to go. I'll show some weirder uses in the future I'm sure.
Hi Max. Bought your MaxPacks last night and I am having fun playing with them. As someone new to digital art, I have to say that I am still adjusting to it and really hope there are more tutorials coming from you. Thanks 🥳
Yaaaaaaaassss! Absolutely fantastic glimpse into your mind during a cafe sketch. Awesome seeing how you use the MaxPack Watercolor brushes. I’m SUPER amped to see even more content! 👍👍
Thanks man. I've been wanting to do this for a long time. I'm trying to figure out a way to do cafe sketching from home for the sake of a video so people can see the model and compare that to the choices I'm making. I've gotta ponder on how to translate that for here, and maybe as a resource to allow people to follow along.
Your interpretation is very intriguing, its appeal got me to click the video. Your process and choice of what to stylize is inspiring, it really communicates creativity and i just got lost seeing how you put it together.
Woah. I love that this video can function as a tutorial for both traditional watercolor painting and Procreate--I took away pointers for both mediums. Not to mention watercolor is my fav medium of choice. Thanks a lot dude!
Hi Max, thanks for sharing those previous advices. I love your brushes so much, thanks again for your kindness and love you put in all your pictures. Very friendly, Adrien

Love doing caricature work myself, and really like your technique! I am used to pencil and paper but excited to make the transition to digital paint and drawing programs. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos!
I really love how you explained why you did things and what things you chose to keep and what you chose to leave out. It gave me a lot of insight into deliberately choosing where to add detail and what not to overwork. I love the piece and I'm definitely going to get some of your brush packs!
I really like this,, the way you paint and narrating it kinda soothing and pleasant to watch, plus its easy to understand the process not like most speed painting tutorial in UA-cam keep creating man

So glad I found this! I've got the watercolor Max Pack (your brushes were part of what persuaded me to go all in and get an iPad and Procreate) and I'm still trying to get comfortable with it. I wasn't searching for tutorials, but getting to see you do a cafe sketch was pretty perfect.
