This is so beautiful. It reminds me of Jade or Mother of Pearl which is used in so many of the jewelry made from sea shells. I am so excited to try this.

This is a great tutorial. What the necklace reminds me of is high quality "ancient roman glass" that they still dig up in the middle east sometimes & create pendants out of. It has that bluish tint to it. Thanks again for sharing.

That is some Kool uses of kitchen shop jewelry equipment. I had to get rid of my old stove that sat outside the shop building. She said it looked bad. So now any time I need to stress relive any steel that I have quenched for hardness, I simply put the pcs in the oven. After cooking several pones of cornbread, biscuits, or a casserole my part has had plenty of time to be heated and cooled to make it stress free. I know when it's close to being tempered correctly when it isn't leaving the new metal taste in the food. As far as the microwave goes it'll take a whole lot more abuse than you would think. I have blown the door glass out by attempting to dry a little gourd that we had grown. It was a perfect size and shape for a baby rattle. We had left it to dry after picking it from the garden. The seed were not drying as fast as I wanted so Baby Sara could have it. First was like 20 second in microwave. It seemed to help. Then 30 sec. Yes I could feel the heated loosening seeds Making more noise plus steam was being pushed out around where it was cut at the vine. By now I'm showing it to little Sara but not letting her touch the grenade that I'm building. Now little miss Sara was all excited knowing she was gonna get a new toy that Daddy had grown for her. I should have let it cool off then and let her play with it and then put it in her keep sake chest to give to our grand children. We'll after 2- 30 second nukings it acted like a miniature gourd baby rattle. It still had some moisture in it that didn't let that crisp sound out. I figured a two minute run In the microwave would be perfect. After the first minute passed a sound like a 12 gauge going off in the house happened. It pushed gourd seed, shell, and the husk from around the seed all inside the inner side of the microwave. It also busted the Inner glass on the glass door. The latch was sprung as was the hinges. there were several that year so we let time dry the rest and she loved them.

this is really versatile thank you Aleshia. I never would have thought of it on my own, but it might be a good idea if you are concerned about "toxic" vapors to indeed use a craft oven, OR clean your oven after crafting. More concerning to me rather than tainting my food are the fumes while melting the CD's. Good tip to get a used toaster oven from the thrift store. They can be quite spending to purchase one new for crafting!

I put a cd in my microwave for 5 seconds and the crackle areas really burnt. So I tried again by reducing the power level to 8 and got a better finish. I do think I can go lower. Guess people should see how powerful their microwave is and make adjustments. My husband saw this disk and really like it. Imagine that!

I realize this is old, but this type of necklace is still in style. but I'm thinking of a new, cool twist on it aesthetically. have u seen the Sharpie®/rubbing alcohol trick tht they paint on, usually ladies nails & white canvas & leather shoes. it would be interesting to see tht applied here...I know it would look phenomenal!!! great work on this necklace, I never have done chunky necklace, but this is do....it's too pretty i'd really wear it!! 😁😱😎😍

Hi Alisha, As you are in the same situation as Gianna, I thought I'd share my advice with you. I apoligize for this awkward message in this tutorial. FIRSTLY and THE MOST URGENT, call PAYPAL if donations are made via PAYPAL, and explain your situation. They will gladly do the necessary and you and other victims will be refunded in minutes. TRUST ME. Secondly, UA-cam has to be informed and get this person to refund any money gained from your video tutorials and then only DELETE her account. Hugs xxx
