Super useful info many DJs arent aware of. Which reminds me of DJs who play "Sicko Mode", a Song that starts at 69bpm and transitions up to 77bpm. I've seen many a DJ struggle by believing its 69bpm all the way thru.
Damn I been looking for a tip like this forever lol. Also, this is a good way to set bpms for older tracks with a lot of drag and sway. Which opens way to a whole new way to sync that is actually respectable and viable. Taking time with slipped beats or transition tracks...this method can really help with transitions regarding any difficulty with bpms. Nice.
thanks bro this is very helpful I'm subscribed to 2 record pools they have some transitional tracks, but I realize that is better to create the ones you want, this will help get my DJ sets more creative because I could switch do different bpm levels very quickly without having to drop on the one. Thanks a million bro
Hi and thank you for the info. I have a question for you: After beat gridding the transition and saving the changes, is there an easy way to save the initial beginning BPM? For example using the track you used is it saved at 95BPM or 70BPM. I ask this because if it saves at 70 when I sort by bpm it's actually not where the intro begins which is 95.
The only problem I see here is that the BPM column shows the last bpm set. So now your song that comes in at 95bpm, is labeled as 70bpm. in the column. How do you set the column to show you the starting BPM? If you simply click in that column and relabel the bpm to 95, it will override the beatgrid and show 95 throughout the entire track.
I have the same problem. Some of my transition tracks, that I downloaded from DJ-pools, already have a perfectly set beat grid. Also, they're tagged with the starting BPM. But I could not find a way to do this to the rest of my transition tracks.
@@EMBEEclassic My only way around this has been to relabel the BPM to the starting BPM. Then i label the cue points with the correct BPM at that spot. this way i see the first 3-4 cue points that say one speed and the last 3-4 cue point that say the second speed. Its the only way for now. Eventually Serato will hopefully create an option to choose which BPM you wish to see in the column (starting or ending bpm).
PDot is referring to BPM Transition tracks, that start at one BPM and transition to another. I believe the 8 bat intro for this example was 95BPM and it transitioned down to 70BPM. Pretty straightforward for smooth mixing between big BPM changes.
thank you... this helps me alot when transitioning from one song to another where the Tempo/Bpm is off... though one question why did you set cue points?
Because you always want to set cue points at transitional areas...which is all he did. It just helps speed up the process of getting to those points or recognizing those points, it would be also useful to set cue points at everypoint you find a recognizable bpm change...enabling you to identify multiple bpm ranges where you could actually use a transition track to POSSIBLE help you transition to a track in between the transition range of the transition track.
I have thoroughly analyzed my entire music library and noticed that while most songs display a beat grid, some still fail to produce one upon loading. I would appreciate it if someone could assist me with this issue.
DJ OWE GC I rename the title of all my transitions to have the BPM's at the beginning, same as in this video. You can then sort by title and they're sorted by BPM. The track he's using in this video doesn't have the title changed, but most of them in the crate he has open are changed.
Can't thank you enough for very useful tips bro . Is there any button to half or double the bpm count.? Like in TRAKTOR. U can click to change the 140 bpm to 70
+Hatim Kamel thank you for watching! Yes there is a shortcut for that! Double click on the BPM on the library window, then click and hold alt/option and hit the up or down arrow on your keyboard.
I have a question PDot...how do you actually find and know what tracks have these transitions in them? Just through listening and noticing the tempo changes?
This will help overall... You do this pre-performance... like sicko Mode, where it starts slow and ends up going up tempo throughout the song, this way your bpm is always correct when mixing.

Its me...i am "many a dj" lmfao
this is still useful in 2021. good stuff my guy 🤌🏽

Thanks bro, very useful tip. Now I find myself editing all my transition tracks and I can also utilize my efx anywhere in the songs.

does anyone know how to solve this issue?!
Great video.. I use transition tracks too, but I pefer to transition with a smooth mix.. dope video ..
Yes this is very important! Smart. I use transition tracks too.
thanks, i was not sure how to do that, now i know
Great content as always

Unfortunately Serato only picks one bpm to be in that column. That’s why I label the starting and ending bpm in the track title.
How am I able to set Serato to always display the starting BPM?

finally!!!!! this was a huge helped. I was about to drop kick a freakin pancake out the window.
Can you explain this more clearly? I'm confused. There's two different BPMs in the original or your mix in the song?

Hey Bro
What about if i have more than 1.000 songs with out a beat grid ,
Do i have to do one by one each of them ?
Yes, yes... and when your done you become One Punch DJ MAN....
thank you sir, need to look at this again... been using Serato but didn't know about this part.. do you have an email sir
Where can get transition tracks?
I have thoroughly analyzed my entire music library and noticed that while most songs display a beat grid, some still fail to produce one upon loading. I would appreciate it if someone could assist me with this issue.
I would check if those songs are "locked" in your library. You'll see a little lock icon next to the song in your library if they are.
I've downloaded a couple but never used them. they are handy though.....
It still come up as 70bpm so for sorting purposes it messes up the crates if you have them stacked by bpm.

i see what you men but yeah thats still not right
this should be on @djcity
Thanks for the kind words!
Thanks Man

PDotTV thank u soo much
I have a question PDot...how do you actually find and know what tracks have these transitions in them? Just through listening and noticing the tempo changes?
DJ Pool like bpmsupreme, dj city, they have transition tracks...very useful and time saver.
The places you download these tracks from will list them as transition tracks. Or you create and label them on your own.
These transition tracks , do you pre record them or make them using a 3rd party app?
You download them from record pools...or you create them with production software compatible with your dj gear (ableton, serato studio, etc).
thanx
where u buy u track?
I subscribe to a couple DJ record pools such as DJCity, Headliner Music Club, and Beat Junkies.
I can't do this kind of transitions because of the lack of my laptop's ram. I must mix with master tempo on for this kind of transitions
This will help overall... You do this pre-performance... like sicko Mode, where it starts slow and ends up going up tempo throughout the song, this way your bpm is always correct when mixing.
