Thank you for sharing you videos with us.
I retired my multi-tales service dog when we rescued her from euthanasia. She was a 4y/o German Shepherd who had been surrendered by her elderly owners who could not take her into the care facility. The reason she was scheduled for euthanasia was because of her breed.
My then 12y/o son found her on pet finder and begged to rescue her. I told him it depended on her temperament. She was not rescued to become a working dog. Went to the small town rescue facility the day before she was to be moved to a “kill” facility. She was well trained in obedience by her former people. Handed my 12y/o the leash with the following instructions... hold leash loosely, I will walk away. When I say drop the leash making sure to tell her to stay. Then stand with her. I called her by name and said come from about 25ft away. She looked at him then me and walked to me. She went directly into the car after that. We didn’t pay any adoption fee as they were flad to see she had a new family.
Her becoming my multi-task service accident was quite by accident. I legally blind and suffer with balance and other health issues. While walking to my mom’s a few houses away with Lucy off leash she stepped in front of me and would not allow me to continue walking even tho I attempted to walk around her. She heard the neighbors car start whereas I hadn’t due to lawnmowers being run around me. The neighbors teenaged son backed out like a bat outta hell and if Lucy hadn’t blocked he would have hit me. (He was infamous for not watching while backing out of the driveway. He’s hit parked cars and his mom)
I got her cleared by our vet and she became my eyes in public (I refused/refuse to use a cane)she kept me from stepping off curbs which lessened my fall rate.. Lol!!! She learned to help me get up, she braced and picked up dropped things for me.
Sadly she was retired in 2014 after 5 years of service. She’s begun suffering with arthritis... she lost her hearing and was going blind and was starting to have potty issues. In December 2018 my family made the heartbreaking decision to send her over the rainbow bridge as she was nearly 15 years old.
In 2014 I received a chocolate lab as a gift from my husband. Bailey was a bit rowdy but knows basic commands and a few specific commands. She’s 5 and along with our 10wk old German Shepherd will resume her training. Waffles (German Shepherd pup) will be trained to assist me as well as my husband... mostly him as he has severe nerve damage after a stroke in 2017, he falls a lot... Bailey (chocolate lab) will resume her training in basic guide and mobility as well as ptsd/panic alert for me.
The hardst part is finding a good way to teach “tuck” as in restaurants insist larger (and sometimes my 2lb ptsd/panic alert) be under tables or chairs. Typically my chihuahua is on a soft sling with a baby blanket and they accept that he’s to small to be placed on the floor and if he is he can not do his job (I’ve gone round and round in Walmart’s about the “policy” that small breed service animals can not be I. The hold seat of the basket. He is never in direct contact with the basket, is rarely actually seen unless he’s on alert and can not preform his specific tasks when not within easy reach of me. Besides him not being in direct contact I’ve seen babies/children with colds, nasty diaper etc and my lb chihuahua is far cleaner then most children!
Anyway. Thanks for refreshers in training!

"Mom why did you stop the game?" basically sums up that look. When I get it, I tell him "all done". "With that game" thinks the pup as they bring you another toy. Mine will bring me the treat bag so we can play the "fun games" if I've had a few bad days and we haven't been out.

A bit of an update from me, the breeder that I was going to meet never showed up, but today we went to an open house with ten puppies. THEY WERE ALL MELLOW! The lady agreed who owns the shelter to allow me to temperament test them, and I am so excited, but also prepared if it doesn't work out. The puppy kind of looks like your dog, but he's brindle. He is super cute and just so sweet and gentle natured. I'll keep you updated.

im sorry if this is a stupid question but... what is the clicker for ?

Not a stupid question at all. A clicker is used to mark a desired behavior the moment it happens. A treat follows the click.
That way the dog knows exactly when it was correct, and knows it will be rewarded. Way better than trying to stuff a treat in that mouth at the precise moments it's earned.

Some people use a marker word instead, like "yes".

I am in the process of teaching my 6 mos old Rottweiler to be my service dog. I have mobility issues and severe depression, and chose a Rottie for the strength to handle my mobility issues. He is super mellow and his trainer even said that he was super sweet during training. Any suggestions on how to teach a dog to help you up from a sitting position? I am in need of that command.

Should I buy a clicker or will a verbal click of my tongue suffice?

THis is good for lighter doors and heavier dogs, otherwise they need their paw. I am working on just nose touches for drawers and cabinets, we are not even going to do refirgerators, my dog would just help herself to the inside-lol
