Amazing job! He’s so focused with you and eager to please. Even if he did mess up a bit, your positive reinforcement is very helpful. Plus, service dogs are still dogs and they are allowed to mess up every now and then. That’s why SD teams do training sessions! I personally really like the ‘minimalistic’ vests a bit more. They’re easy on the eye and straight to the point. I hope you two have a great day and thank you for reading. ~
This is so helpful. Ive had multiple sclerosis for 26 years and I’m trying to train my English Labrador that I had picked out special for my service dog.
Seeing your service dog and the way you guys bond gives me hope that my prospect for my service dog will give me the strength that I need throughout the day. Because I decided to owner train, most of my family has doubts in me, but honestly I know I cannot face my disability alone (PTSD). The puppy is a German Shepherd X Golden retriver mix. I spoke to the breeder's friend, and I will be going to see two docile enough prospects. I hope I make the right choice. Thank you for the inspiring videos, I'll definitely keep watching your videos.
TheLifeOfRei I have PTSD too.. It would be so much easier if I had a service dog, but if I had one that would mean I can't pursue a career in law enforcement anymore. My mother just had a surgery and her "healing" process is taking longer than anyone expected. She can't walk without a cane or walker anymore and the doctor says it might be permanent nerve damage from her not having her surgery 30 years ago, and she might end up getting a SD for mobility if she doesn't heal. I'd really love to volunteer at a facility that trains service dogs so other people can have their help, if that's possible for me to do. EDIT: P.S., I hope your training goes well!
I as well am training a PSD first before I started I made sure I knew my laws and rights. The dog I am training was a gift from my family she’s a yorkie and my family has huge doubts on our team too. When my Mom and Dad got her for me she was about three months old so as all puppies do she barked made messes ect. When she was five months old I started to train her, I have been training her for two and a half years now but the training never really does stop. And not to long ago we went to a family reunion and a lot if not all of my family was there. She barked at no one and I wish I was recording because all the people in my family who doubted us were shocked.
Hope it is going well and you get the support you need, it is hard for anyone to go it alone. My SD does everything in the video, but she can not walk on a leash , outside distractions are hard, I know this takes lots of time, can take up to 3 years to be fully trained so get support. Prayers and blessings.
Also have PTSD and training my service dog with some trainers. I will tell you that it's really hard even with the trainers. I've read other similar accounts. In the beginning I would lose my temper and due to my service injuries other than PTSD the training and dog cause me a lot of discomfort sometimes. The worst stage was the puppy stage as it was extremely hard and painful. I spend days in bed due to pain but luckily the trainers would take him and let me rest. If you do decide to do it I highly recommend 2 books you can get on amazing called Teamwork. They helped me a lot.
The music makes it look so emotional. I guess it the bond you guys have making me get emotional too. Lol thank you for the great video! It’s really helpful for me!
I think I am going to start trying to train my Boston Terrier to be a service dog for my anxiety and PTSD. Thank you so much for this video, it is so helpful! You have a new subscriber :) 💝🤩
thanks so much for sharing!!! you guys are a great team!!! I am owner training my little guy be he's already 3 yrs old. It's a slow process but he's catching on to smelling my low blood sugar and i couldn't be happier!! great job again, and thanks for sharing!
Beautiful! This is how training ''should'' be..love how you use hand signals, it is possible to use the slightest nuance if hand to communicate with a willing dog.
Absolutely amazing I wish my SD was a good as yours but we started training late in life for him but he has done amazing. How old is your pup he is beautiful
Tha k you so much for making these videos! I’m owner training a service dog soon and am terrified of what to teach first and what if I forget to teach somthing etc - this helps alot
Your dog is great and all but the rabbit in the background is cage is tiny and it can barely move about please give it something bigger x your dog is so well behaved tho so well done xx
I have a German Shepherd that I am owner training to become a mobility SD for my Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. It is going well and I have only been training for a few months, but do you have any tips for helping reinforce/teach heel. Especially in distracting environments.
MasterWarden it's just something that helps with owner-dog coordination, since the dog focuses on ur movement like speed and direction. I'm sure there are other uses but that's what I use it for.
Amazing training, but the rabbit needs a much much bigger cage, and should have a water bowl rather than a bottle! Check out Lennon the bunny (rabbit UA-camr if you’re unsure) because at the minuet that’s very small and unfair. X
^ as well as they must know how to perform 3 tasks that help a disability, certified by a medical professional that is studied in that specific field, that you cannot do for yourself. IE: PTSD, a psychiatrist would have to agree you need a service dog for PTSD. They must be willing to write a letter to verify that they are backing you having a service dog for housing, etc. You must have your service dog trained to perform AT LEAST 3 tasks you cannot do yourself to support your disability. You must know the rights of you as a service dog handler and the state that you're in. Your dog MUST be trained to the extent that they can be under any stress, in any position, and be in COMPLETE handler control. If your dog is acting out, someone CAN ask you to leave. You need to log training or keep video record so that if anyone takes you to court, or vice versa, you can backup that your dog is a trained service dog with legal and medical backing.
Very good but he is still too focused on the food and not focused enough on you. congratulations happy New Year 2020 wishing you and your dog the best keep going. Never give up you guys are a great team together
I know this video is old I just want to say with no harm intended that the rabbits cage is too small. They need bigger cages like dog playpens or xl dog crates. The bowl is also too high.
Hi there. Scratching is a sign of me having sensory overload. Capone is trained to interrupt the behavior because I'm not away aware that I'm doing it. By interrupting it I can be aware of my behavior and control it.
I have severe OCD, PTSD, Social Anxiety and Severe Depression Disorder and it's useful for me because, in relation to my OCD, I have Dermatillomania. It's a compulsion that occurs when you're in a place/ situation that is causing anxiety and/or a need to remove all imperfections (ie. picking at skin or scabs, even if you draw your own blood). After a period it can be the same nervous habit as nail biting. These can occur in extremes (I have embarrassing scabs from picking pimples, scabs, little skin imperfections, etc) and knowing you have them can cause a domino affect with anxiety. Service dogs can pester you until you stop the behavior, distract you from the trigger or tic, and furthermore, can prevent you from harming yourself unknowingly.
She was in the cage because we were doing training, she only use it as litter pan. Normally she's running free in the room and in her yard! Yes he's a boxer mix, thanks!
I love the training and everything but, did you know keeping a bunny in a cage can lead to obesity and destruction as well as a short life span. Bunnies can live up to 15 years but sadly only live about 5-9 in a cage if taken care of properly. Rabbits need about 3 hours of exercise everyday and will begin to chew and destroy things out of boredom. Also caged cause sore hocks and water bottles can cause dehydration leading to kidney failure. Just some tips for rabbit care. I learned the hard way after mine stayed in a cage 24/7 basically and then died at 3 years old. Also pellets should be given in very small amounts about. 1/4 of a cup per 5 lb rabbit. Diets should consist of 80% hay 12% greens 5% pellets and 3% treats
Ashley Shaw She have a large outdoor garden to stay during the sunny days. She stay indoor during rainy days and nights. You can see I have fences in the rooms to block the unsafe area. She only stay in the cage during our training period and when I'm cleaning the room. It's normally just being used as her litter box.
Amazing job! He’s so focused with you and eager to please. Even if he did mess up a bit, your positive reinforcement is very helpful. Plus, service dogs are still dogs and they are allowed to mess up every now and then. That’s why SD teams do training sessions!

TheLifeOfRei Thank you! I wish you all the luck with your prospect. Be loving and patient, you can do it!

Julia hopefully
I know right
The cage you are seeing is the toilet for the bunny, she’s only inside because we are filming. Thanks for commenting!

Absolutely amazing I wish my SD was a good as yours but we started training late in life for him but he has done amazing. How old is your pup he is beautiful
Thank you, Mackenzie! I got him when he is two years old from a shelter. He is now 6 1/2 years old.
Hi, I just came upon your vids, I enjoyed watching them! 😀 I raise/train pups and always searching for new ways to train them, thanks for your vids!
Tha k you so much for making these videos! I’m owner training a service dog soon and am terrified of what to teach first and what if I forget to teach somthing etc - this helps alot
Bravo.👏👏👏🐾🏅 Fantastic and very wise dog!
Awesome! Thanks for the upload!
Love the way you pet his face for some reason :")
Your dog is great and all but the rabbit in the background is cage is tiny and it can barely move about please give it something bigger x your dog is so well behaved tho so well done xx
She said in another persons comment that that’s the toilet cage. He was only in there for the video
Would you be able to tell me what vest he's using. I recently got a custom made one for my dog but I really like the one your dog has.
How do you train to pick up the leash?
So my service dog is in training she has trouble focusing when we go out any tips . I would appreciate it so much 😁❤️
How long does it take to finish the training should you still train after four years?
What kind of treats are you using? Are they high reward treats, like bacon or something? Or just kibble?
I have a German Shepherd that I am owner training to become a mobility SD for my Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. It is going well and I have only been training for a few months, but do you have any tips for helping reinforce/teach heel. Especially in distracting environments.
I was scrolling through UA-cam and then I'm like "Wait I think that's Capone!" and I went to this video 😂
Aww, thank you!
Really beautiful dog what is the mix of this lovely dog?
What kind of dog do you have?
Great job, great dog!! What kind of dog is he?
What type of dog?
What breed of dog is he? So beautiful!
did you train him yourself ?& if so how long did it take . great job BTW . ((':
In what scenarios is that front/back movement used? I've seen it a lot but don't know the use.
MasterWarden it's just something that helps with owner-dog coordination, since the dog focuses on ur movement like speed and direction. I'm sure there are other uses but that's what I use it for.
Why are you giving him treats if he doesn’t follow a command properly?
Ur video is really helpful and he's a beautiful pup but how small is that rabbit cage??!
lucy meechan it’s just her litter pan she stays in there when she’s training her dog she actually has a really big outdoor space
Could I teach my future dog these tricks even if I don't have a disability?
Danika Hawkins ok ok thanks
💪🏻🤙🏼

Can you fully train a service dog at home and they will accepted it as trained
yes, but you should keep training logs if you ever need to provide proof that the dog is trained :)

Grate video he did amazing but that poor Bunny should not be in that tiny cage
My service cant really do that he to small
What is the point of the scratching part of the training?

He looks like my sdit mufasa
Hope your rabbit has hay and gets out of the cage!
What breed is your sd? Boxer mix? I love this video!
She was in the cage because we were doing training, she only use it as litter pan. Normally she's running free in the room and in her yard! Yes he's a boxer mix, thanks!
The bunny cage is way to small but good training
It's probably for filming purposes hopefully
It's a free roaming bunny most of the time and was only in there while they were filming (according to the poster's replies to other people)
Amazing work, but that cage is to small for that rabbit

@@charlieg3674 oh ok sorry I was just confused haha
nice training but that cage is horrible for that bunny
Why is your BUNNY CAGE SO SMALL !!!!?!?!?!?!? LEARN HOW TO TAKE CARE OF A BUNNY PLEASE
Too focused on how small your rabbit cage is :/ poor thing can barely move around
