- Founder of Singapore Hiker, Joven Chiew, shares with us a series of paranormal encounters from his younger days living in a haunted house at Alexandra Hospital and in Pulau Ubin, where he experienced ghostly encounters first hand.
Joven has never done an interview before and has turned down numerous invites to be featured on TV but he chose to speak to us because he wanted to get these memories off his chest.

Thanks for sharing such interesting strange stories. All these are common in Malaysia too.
Referring to blue lights floating around, it's quite similar to one story my late mum once told me during my younger days sometimes in the late 70s. The story of blue lights was told by a few of her friends who used to woke up early in the morning and during those days they usually left their house around 5am cycling to tap rubber trees . Their route covers the area where they have to pass by chinese cemetery. Occasionally, they saw blue round lights floating and moving above and around cemetery area, like a very small orbs giving out blue lights. Chinese folks during old days believed these were ghost lights especially from those dead buried less than a year. Definitely not fireflies.
I'm a Malaysian. I worked there before. So much supernatural things I experienced there. So much entities I saw there during my night shifts. I vividly remembered a little girl followed me during my mortuary task. I have to take the trolley from the small storeroom under the stair at the end of the block. I saw a little girl reflection on the glass of the closed day clinics following me from behind running and jumping. She had this twin ponytail and dressed in a gown like typical old era Brits girls. So much mystical things I experienced there. I was a porter there. I remember that some of the ladies porter could not tahan and have to resign after few days of working.
staring at the lake behind the interviewee, i can't help to ponder if the supernatural are just like a fish out of the sea, having been in and out of a medium like a lake...
In a different plane of existence?

Could not fully understand the storyline, too many different stories intermingled . Stick with the main storyline according to the title so as to not confuse the reader
There is a art to telling stories and keeping the viewer engrossed. I didn’t feel it listening to this chap.
All over the place.
Figuratively speaking when someone paints a picture of an encounter it is their story perhaps not a plot but a naration of his experience which is a story . It has to have a beginning and an end . My view is it a haphazard way of narrating which is quite all over the place so to speak . What was the main objective?

Not meaning to contradict you merely for the sake of it V Kohl, but Eugene's brief synopsis of the video content states clearly that subject (Joven Chiew) herein will be sharing "with us a series of paranormal encounters....at Alexandra Hospital and (at) Pulau Ubin" over the years. It could not be more explicit, surely? (Okay, the title of this video ought to be reworded, I concede). Perhaps each time Joven begins a new narration you could simply pause the screen to gather your thoughts and maybe ruminate on what's just been disclosed, if you will, before resuming your viewing. I was able to follow his threads at one stretch without intermission.
And if I may add please, there is no way Joven could be fabricating his recollections here. Body language does not lie, unless one is a well-rehearsed professional. Then again what good possibly could he gain from fibbing here? His reputation, credibility and trustworthiness are at stake surely. Especially only now is he prepared to go on record and in camera, his maiden consent after declining previous invites, according to Eugene. The residual imprints and impact on his subconscious intuition from his series of uncomfortable encounters all those years ago are still very felt and palpable, the at times jagged emotions on display. Anyone can see that I trust.

Indication of the word Fabrication is uncalled for,
my point was simply any story or encounters should be in a plausible direction which would be in the favour of the narrator .

The place you are sitting now is where I almost drown at shallow knee deep in my teen while luring by a very beautiful long tail gold fish and i walking toward it , two of my friend keep shouting for me , an unseen force pulling me into the water and out of sudden the daze awake me , luckily two of my friends use a tree branch to pull me up , by the time I catching my breath sitting at the bank , the gold fish appear and swim towards us , we just stand up and rans all the way up towards the stadium behind us

Little guilin is infamous for it's paranormal sightings for sure 😭
I imagine when the entity notices us noticing them, most of them will freeze and pretend they're part of the decor.. waiting for us to turn away.. so it can go away while we're not looking. They probably know we'd try to confirm by looking away and look again to see if it's real or if it's just an imagination. 😅

Why go to the places with ghosts at night with IR cameras? Go during the day time. If it were me, going to a haunted place at night, I will have a shotgun with me . I will just shoot whatever that moves. No crime if a ghost is shot.
@Lightstone yup, shotgun to shoot a spirit. If something is hit by the shot, then there will be proof of what's causing these so called ghostly phenomena. If there is nothing in these places during the day time, why only at night. There must be a scientific explanation. It's either in the mind of the person who claims to have seen/experienced it or some other observation that has been overlooked. No such things as ghosts spirits etc...bec I believe its man made drama to scare people into subsmission like religion. Which is why at night when I can't see but hear, I will point a shotgun and shoot in the direction of the source of the sound. Since there is no law protecting the rights of ghosts, I will not be subject to punishment. But if there is someone trying to scare me and get shot, I will have to be prepared with a good defence.
